Hell in a Cell 2014

My question still stands:
Who does Cena feud with? Since Cena-Lesnar 3 :disappointed: will probably be next year according to reports...

I'm thinking Rusev...though I'd like to see Rusev vs Sheamus for Survivor Series...

Agreed. I was reading earlier today about the renaming of the Elimination Chamber PPV, and I was saying they may as well abolish the whole concept of the Elimination Chamber and the Hell in a Cell, because they are no longer effective. I thought the whole point of the Cell was to keep the wrestlers involved contained throughout the match (which didn't happen tonight as the first half of the match happened outside the cage) and to keep those uninvolved outside the Cage (which also didn't happen tonight). Why have the Cage if guys can enter and leave the Cage at will. That's a couple of times I can think of that Bray Wyatt has entered a contained enclosure to mess up a match.

Quick history lesson:

THAT NEVER HAPPENS. It's almost a running joke in the Cell. Look back at the two most famous ones: both involve people falling through or off the Cell. I don't think it actually contained people until Boss Man vs. Undertaker, which is probably the worst Cell match ever. To complain about the Cell not keeping people out is absurd.

Probably a new Paul Heyman Guy unless they just do it at the Survivor Series. Rusev vs. Cena sounds like a Wrestlemania program.

How does it tarnish the reputation of the Cell when it's a copy of the same ending that made the Cell famous in the first place?

HIAC was meant to be the end of the feud. The match was meant to end the feud. The only reason the feud is ended (for the time being) is because of an interference from Wyatt.

HIAC is meant to be between two people, locked in a cell. What they've done and continued to do with Cell, Cage and EC matches is have interference which more or less deems the gimmick of match useless really, the match needed to end clean 1 on 1.

I'd hardly call the Summerslam match major. Big yes but not major.

Rollins isn't a cowardly heel either but that's another story.

I highly doubt that happens. There's a story here and people want to see the wronged face get revenge. It's wrestling 101. Well maybe 102 or so.

If the wronged face never gets his original revenge nobody is satisfied and nothing changes. We'll be sitting through the same story with these two down the line.

I think it's more so this match wasn't as entertaining as Summerslam and definitely not better than their Falls Count Anywhere match the next night. The wrong result happened, Ambrose could have won and been attacked and things would have been fine.

Yep that's what it's meant to be and that's happened.....maybe 10% of the time? This is how the Cell works: they say they're locked in, then they get out, interference occurs and someone wins. It happened with Undertaker/HBK/Kane and they did it again here. If this match's ending defeated the purpose then so did Kane debuting. Now if you want to call that a stupid ending that defeated the purpose and didn't help anyone, I'll have that argument all night.

Whoa, hold on a second, are we gonna act like this didn't happen in first HIAC match:

Or that this didn't happen in the first HIAC match:

Since those two things happen in the first HIAC match then by your logic the entire lifespan of HIAC has been ineffective. Also, people didn't have that much of a problem when it happen in that match, so why all the rage now? I actually was rooting for Ambrose to win, but I would've been more pissed if Rollins won without interference.

EDIT: Damn you Thriller

Interesting. Didn't think of that one. Any ideas on who it could be?

It does sound like a Mania programme, but I can't find any worthy heels for Cena, only Rusev left out of the best ones.

No reason to have this go on any longer now. They've done what they needed and Ambrose can go after Wyatt while Rollins moves up to a bigger feud in Orton. It's good for Rollins and gives Ambrose a feud he can win. Everybody benefits.

But there is a reason to go on with this, it isn't over yet. They haven't done what is needed. Ambrose has been waiting months to get his hands on Rollins, who runs away from him every chance he gets. Tonight he was cornered like a caged animal, and was getting the beating everyone thinks he deserved, until the lights went out.

Ambrose could have won this feud tonight, and brought some closure to it. As it is, we continue with a new set of players. Nobody benefits.

In this case, what happens with the feud? Put on hold until Ambrose is done with Wyatt? Who wins in the Ambrose-Wyatt feud? How long does it last?

Really because it sounds like you are trying to justify a dumb as fuck ending.

More along the lines of laughing at people running off at the mouth without thinking. It's a hobby of mine.

Or maybe, just maybe, the face gets his revenge at one of the major shows and loses at the B show. Like what happens most of the time.

Except Rollins looking like a lame duck briefcase holder instead of the guy that won in the Cell and all that.

Eh, I get the feeling it will be Lesnar vs Cena at Survivor Series. It's not that Lesnar won't work the dates; it's more of a "pay me extra and I'll work that date" thing.

No. You're just not that bright.
And neither are you in trying to defend this decision.

Losing cleanly = losing heat so it cannot happen is lol-worthy.

If a wrestler can't regain the supposed 'lost heat' after a clean loss then he isn't as over as he should be.

That's a really good question and I'm not sure. Maybe Cesaro again? There aren't a lot of options.

Hate to break it to you but yeah, it is over. Rollins won the feud and they're both moving on. People have changed their laser focus on someone for less reasons.

In this case, what happens with the feud? Put on hold until Ambrose is done with Wyatt? Who wins in the Ambrose-Wyatt feud? How long does it last?

No. The feud is done and Ambrose lost.

It's easy to see why they did what they did, doesn't make it any less stupid, doesn't change the fact that a 5 month feud elevated and benefited no one. Doing shit like that hurts a hell of alot more than it helps.

And tonight helped get Rollins to that level. Starting to catch on now?

Because people are totally going to care about that one time he needed loads of interference to beat one guy right? He's still got the briefcase and would still have been the top currently full time active heel on the roster. Losing wouldn't have changed anything.

Ok then. Educate me. How does this hurt a lot of people?

For Mania, I was actually thinking Rollins before HIAC happened. Seth has always talking about being the future while Cena says he runs the place and Seth cost Cena the match at NOC.

Orton is a bigger heel than he is at the moment, as is Paul Heyman.

That briefcase isn't as powerful as you think it is. Look what happened when a guy who lost almost all the time used it to win the world title. I don't exactly see Jack Swagger with a rocket on his back from it anymore do you? Rollins is going to be a big deal and they're treating him like one. Ambrose is a guy who can bounce back with his actions and talking because the fans are going to cheer him no matter what he does. Heels have a harder time doing that, especially when Rollins has to tone down his best assets to be a heel.
