Stormtrooper
Championship Contender
The current storyline involving Nexus has been widely considered a huge hit (albeit the storyline is in its infancy). I personally love this storyline, and think it is the best thing going in Professional Wrestling/Sports Entertainment. I would even go 8 steps further, and say that the Nexus storyline is the greatest RAW storyline since the Brand Extension in 2002. I tune in to RAW each and every week (and have for many, many years), and I cannot recall ever waiting this impatiently for a single storyline to further develop (Im already psyched to see what happens next week, and its Tuesday).
Some of the major RAW storylines since the Brand Extension (at least the ones I can think of):
Some of the major RAW storylines since the Brand Extension (at least the ones I can think of):
- Evolution (2003-2005): Evolution really was just a stable, but since its purpose (storyline wise) was just to keep Triple H (who fans claim was holding people back at his time) as World Champion, it always led to a fan backlash against Triple H. Since the group was successful in its purpose, it led to a lot of Triple H centric TV that wasnt very popular amongst the fans.
- D-Generation Xs first return (2006): They started in a feud with the McMahons, but then shifted to a feud with Rated RKO. It was fun to see DX again, but it never had the what is going to happen this week feel to it.
- Ric Flairs final return/retirement storyline (2008): This storyline was terrible, because it always was how is Ric Flair not going to win this week, since he is facing Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV.
- RAW Guest Hosts (2009-present): I personally love the Guest Host storyline, especially since they no longer have booking power. However, each week is hit or miss, in that some hosts I have no interest in, where others I cant wait to see.
