Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Trying to decide if I want to go see a movie, or just sit home & play video games all afternoon...

I want to see Argo, but might save that for later this weekend & go with my mom. There are several other options though, Perks of Being A Wallflower, Taken 2, & Seven Psychopaths. Perks of Being a Wallflower & Seven Psycopaths both got pretty good scores on Rotten Tomaters, Taken 2 not so much, but I still kinda want to check it out.

The bolded one is the one you should watch. My wife and I went the day it came out and saw it, and it didn't disappoint me. I thought it was as kick ass as the first.

I vote Seven Psycopaths as it looks like it has the best chance of being an excellent film. Taken 2 is just that, Taken... again. And is Taken really a movie you want to watch again? Not for me it isn't. Perks looks like it could be okay, but it could also be drawn out melodrama. Seven Psycopaths has Christopher Walken, so how bad can it be?

I can't wait for Cloud Atlas. I think I will be seeing that one in theaters.

It's that time of year when all the good movies take an extra two months to come out in the UK. Argo, Seven Psychopaths, Cloud Atlas. Well, fuck you - I'm going to watch the new James Bond movie as much as I can in the two weeks you don't have it, we'll see how you like that.

I still have no idea what the fuck Cloud Atlas is suppose to be about, but damn it looks awesome. Perks looks like I could get just as much enjoyment out of catching it when it hits DVD, I'm gonna assume that Taken 2 will be hitting our little "budget theater" within a week or so, where I can see it for $3 as opposed to $6.25. Psychopaths looks like a possibility.

You're holding a Craig Bond film over our heads? Who do you think he is, Brosnan?

Ooh, Santa Monica. It's where I lived when I first came here. Sweet. I'm downtown-ish, but always happy to know another chill person in this town. All my friends here are from elsewhere.

Didn't end up going to see anything, started a franchise on Madden 12. I wanted a challenge so I chose Cleveland... holy fuck this team is a mess.

Brosnan's not even top three. Goldeneye is top three, Brosnan isn't.

Agreed. Goldeneye is great, but the rest of Brosnan as Bond is entirely forgettable.

The jury's still out on Craig. Casino Royale is one of the best Bond films ever, but Quantum of Solace is mediocre. Skyfall looks pretty good, but I haven't seen it. Craig could be a top three - or even top two - Bond by the time he's done, if he can have a few more close to the level of Casino Royale.

I would say that Brosnan might challenge for #3 along with Moore and Craig but all three are a long why behind Dalton and Connery for my money.

I agree with Goldeneye though. An excellent Bond film that combines some of the grittiness of Dalton and early Connery with some of the tongue in cheek joviality of Moore (this is probably the one major thing that Craig's Bond has lacked so far).

It also has a tremendous progression of villains - General Ourumov, Xenia and Trevelyan, with the added side-villian of Boris. Even the Bond girl, so often a total damsel in distress, is of use to Bond in the final showdown.

I watched Mulholland Drive last night. I'm sure I wasn't the only person who felt totally fucking lost afterwards, but sheesh was that a hard one to figure out! I mean, I did eventually, but it took a little while and a glance at wikipedia for help.

My mom stopped me from blowing a gasket with my coworkers. I was ready to kill them. My 2nd shift staff didn't leave out the food needed for lunch to thaw out and my 3rd shift guy didn't double check it. And I ended up getting stuck working until 9 by myself cause my shift partner needed the day off and my mom doesn't come in until 8, but she was running late this morning. Making French Toast for 20 plus people (4 pieces each) plus giving out medication ain't no walk in the park. I was ready to just lose it today. It has actually been the first time in a long time that work has gotten under my skin.

This is the first time in a while that you've mentioned something negative about work. Are you still working the decreased hours?
