Holmgren to retire as Bronws GM at the end of this season, this is probably a good thing as Holmgren has never really been good at the whole GM thing, he's much better as a coach.

He was getting canned at the end of the year regardless, this just puts nice wrapping paper and a bow on it to cover that fact up.

Thank the GODS. Holmgren's been a fucking disaster. Took a team that showed a ton of promise before he got here and ran it straight into the ground. I imagine we'll see wholesale changes at the end of the season as well - I doubt Heckert remains GM, and there's no chance that Shurmur is still coach unless they have some kind of miracle run here and win at least nine games.

Banner will be a lot better. Loads of experience in a successful front office that took the Eagles to the playoffs eleven times in his tenure there.

I'm so excited about the Browns future, man. Shit is really coming together. Weeden has definitely demonstrated his ability to be brilliant - in fact, if you take away his first game, which is clearly a statistical outlier, he has a passer rating of 80.76, which would make him the 24th best QB in the league. Admittedly not great, but better than 32, where he currently sits thanks to that one bad game. And also, worth noting, higher than Colt McCoy's career rating. So all around, great stuff there. Richardson looks awesome too, of course, and now the receivers are actually starting to look decent. I think it's safe to say Josh Gordon is the real deal and Greg Little could get there too. Things are looking up.

I think I am very much of the KB approach when it comes to Cesaro. Let him have matches with capable opponents - Gabriel, Kidd etc. - plus the occasional show of strength like neutralising Brodus. I have no problem with that.

Also a side gimmick of hitting some kind of uppercut in any given situation could be amusing.

He should have shouted SHORYUKEN! when he caught Gabriel on RAW.

Other things I've read today.

Evil Dead and Carrie remakes are both currently being filmed.

Warner Brothers is expected to push back The Justice League movie. Interest isn't nearly as high as they initially anticipated. They want a new Batman reboot by 2016. They are 50/50 on a Wonder Woman movie. Megan Fox is the lead choice for the role right now. They are also considering carrying on with The Dark Knight series, minus Batman, with Joseph Gordon Levitt's character taking over as the protagonist.

Aside from the link I posted about Marvel working with George Romero on a zombie project, Marvel is planning a Galactic Guardians movie. They want it done after Iron Man 3(which is supposedly introducing the ten rings), Captain America: The Winter Solider, and Thor: Dark World(which is supposed to feature a lot of scenes on Asgard), but it will happen before Avengers 2 to give casuals a look at Thanos. They wanted to do a follow up Hulk film with Mark Ruffalo, but they said not until after Avengers 2, because they are considering Planet Hulk and World War Hulk as the storyline. They are also trying to gauge interest in a possible Nick Fury movie, mostly due to the overwhelming success they have had with Sam Jackson as Fury.

The Rock is working with Hugh Jackman to keep him in shape while filing The Wolverine.

There are also talks of taking the planned Fantastic 4 reboot and including Daredevil in it. They really want to release a Daredevil reboot, but the first film failed so badly they can't get a green light.

Plans for an X-Men Origins: Magneto have been totally scraped because X-Men First Class got largely average reviews. They do have plans for a sequel though, and they intend to make it at least a trilogy if it is successful, with the intention being to go down a darker path, much like The Dark Knight. They want to base it around the Days of Future Past series. Most of it depends on being able to tie Jennifer Lawerence to another long term series commitment, since she is already tied to The Hunger Games.

At Lauren Donner's request, rough drafts are being written up for a potential origin film for both Nightcrawler, and Donner's personal favorite mutant, Gambit. Donner said she would be willing to Gambit film even if she had to take reduced salary. She also mentioned plans for a New Mutants film. They still have rough drafts from '06 for an Emma Frost film, with David Russell's name at the top of potential directors.

The Deadpool film has started hiring on staff. Reynolds is still involved, and with the expected delay on the Justice League movie, he has no upcoming projects, though he will still play Hal Jordan when both it and Green Lantern 2 start up. They were originally going to have Robert Rodriguez direct, but he is committed to confirmed sequels to Sin City and Machete, with a potential 3rd Machete film and a 5th Spy Kids movie after that. Adam Berg is the guy directing now.

Sad to see even more JL being pushed back news but I don't see how anybody can even by surprised anymore. Until 2015 Marvel pretty much has things on lock when it comes to movies. And even after that they're planning more solo films with characters such as Doctor Strange (who may or may not be in Thor 2) and Ant Man is actually being speculated to have a release a couple months after Avengers 2 in 2015. Amazing Spiderman 2 should be out sometime before that as well. Plus the SHIELD Tv show next fall. Don't care about Fantastic Four or Daredevil though. DC needs to up their game.

I was actually pretty impressed with the Kofi/Miz segment. From both guys.

This gets Kofi away from the tag scene and shows he can hold his own. They are putting stock in him as a singles guy and a long term talent. This is more of what we need to see, and if he can re-spark what we saw against Orton. He needs a bit of mic work, but the talent and energy are there. If he shows a bit more of that mean streak and takes care of business- he could be great.

Plus seeing Miz get kicked in the face like that was fantastic.

This would have been fucking epic.

Other things I've read today.

Evil Dead

I stopped here because that is all I needed to read. It has taken f o r e v e r for this damn movie to happen. I might be old by the time they are finished. Like, Mean Gene old.

I think Pancake's mom just landed in Boston. That's the only explanation for the mild earthquake we just felt.

I'd be interested in all of these movies, but I have no idea what Galactic Guardians are supposed to be. Is that supposed to be Guardians of the Galaxy?

The Rock is working with Hugh Jackman to keep him in shape while filing The Wolverine.

Only because John Cena's workouts would make Hugh too huge for Wolverine tights.

There are also talks of taking the planned Fantastic 4 reboot and including Daredevil in it. They really want to release a Daredevil reboot, but the first film failed so badly they can't get a green light.

Daredevil deserves his own movie, but it looks like he won't get one. Shame.

Lame, though I have serious doubts they'd be able to make a Magneto movie any good. It would be hard to get passed all the concentration camp stuff.

I love Gambit, but that film would tank, as would a Nightcrawler one.

I have my doubts that this project will ever be salvaged. They should just let it die and wait for me to become a Hollywood hotshot. We'll do it right then.

Other things I've read today.

Evil Dead and Carrie remakes are both currently being filmed.

These were actually announced awhile ago, supposedly Diablo Cody is writing the screen play for Evil Dead, not sure how I feel about that since she's more known for writing stuff like Juno, & Young Adult.

Warner Brothers is expected to push back The Justice League movie. Interest isn't nearly as high as they initially anticipated.

I don't really have a problem with this, I'd rather they take their time & get everything right, then rush it out & be crap.

They want a new Batman reboot by 2016.

Cool? I guess...

They are 50/50 on a Wonder Woman movie. Megan Fox is the lead choice for the role right now.

Fuck. That.

They are also considering carrying on with The Dark Knight series, minus Batman, with Joseph Gordon Levitt's character taking over as the protagonist.

If they're going to do this, then why reboot the Batman franchise?

Aside from the link I posted about Marvel working with George Romero on a zombie project,

I hope they're not going to attempt a Marvel Zomibes movie

Marvel is planning a Galactic Guardians movie.

Um, I'm pretty sure that's not possible since Galactic Guardians is a cartoon from the mid 80's featuring DC heroes

They want it done after Iron Man 3(which is supposedly introducing the ten rings), Captain America: The Winter Solider, and Thor: Dark World(which is supposed to feature a lot of scenes on Asgard), but it will happen before Avengers 2 to give casuals a look at Thanos.

Yeah, that's Guardians of the Galaxy bub, & was announced at SDCC months ago

They wanted to do a follow up Hulk film with Mark Ruffalo, but they said not until after Avengers 2, because they are considering Planet Hulk and World War Hulk as the storyline.

That could be interesting, though in order to really do it right they'd have to split into at least 2 movie, or cut ALOT of shit out.

They are also trying to gauge interest in a possible Nick Fury movie, mostly due to the overwhelming success they have had with Sam Jackson as Fury.

I've heard this is happening, & that it would basically be an origin story

The Rock is working with Hugh Jackman to keep him in shape while filing The Wolverine.

And he's doing a damn good job, Jackman is looking pretty jacked on the set of Wolvie

There are also talks of taking the planned Fantastic 4 reboot and including Daredevil in it. They really want to release a Daredevil reboot, but the first film failed so badly they can't get a green light.

LOL they can't, they lost the rights to the Daredevil property by not beginning production on a new Daredevil film project by Oct. 10th. If they were smart they would have just done a Daredevil TV series.

Plans for an X-Men Origins: Magneto have been totally scraped because X-Men First Class got largely average reviews.

That's good because the last X-Men: Origins movie was complete crap. First Class was good, but I still don't understand why they chose the mutants they chose, with the exception of Beast none of them were the real first class. Scott, Jean, Bobby, & Warren should have been the other mutants, not a bunch of random mutants that only hardcore X-Men fans have heard of.

This sounds awesome to me

I predict box office failure for all three of those, especially Nightcrawler, why not just weave the origins into on movie, none of them need or deserve their own stand alone film.

The Deadpool film has started hiring on staff. Reynolds is still involved, and with the expected delay on the Justice League movie, he has no upcoming projects, though he will still play Hal Jordan when both it and Green Lantern 2 start up.

I'm not a big Deadpool by any means, but I have no issues with Reynolds keeping the role, I don't blame him for the problems with Deadpool or GL for that matter, I put that blame more on the script & director, I mean the guy can do everything in his power to make a ball shit look good but in the end it's still just a ball of shit.

In other news looks like we might have a chance at getting a hockey season after all

This is hands down the coolest kid on Earth

I have a Chinese midterm tomorrow that is online, but also in class. It's good that it's online, because this allows me to quickly hop over to google translate if I can't figure out what a character means, but I don't know what the surveillance situation is going to be like, and I have to make DAMN sure that I don't do the boneheaded move of leaving it up in the background.

My goal is to pass Chinese, and I figure that if I get about 70-90 out of the possible 125 points, I'll be happy. Thrilled even. The homework is weighted so heavily that it's extremely probable that I can pull off a C even if my midterm and final grades aren't that good. Nonetheless, I'm studying quite a bit as a precaution. I'm going to avoid cheating as long as I can, but it's an inevitability that I will wind up hitting up google translate sooner or later. Hopefully the structure of the test will allow me to use the sentences given as examples for how to structure my own sentences, and my memory of characters will be wide enough to give myself enough of a lead.

I really want to get this over with. And by this I mean this semester. Chinese is pretty much singlehandedly killing my buzz.

That awkward moment when you find out your best friend in high school got his nipples pierced.

We're not friends anymore. Obviously.

JGlass,

I had to go study so I didn't answer your question. But if you want to talk about it more, get back on Facebook.

My old lady had her nipples pierced when we first got together. I wasn't into them and she was kind enough to get rid of them for me.

That was a lame story. Sorry.

Sorry, I had to go lead the Jets to a late 4th quarter comeback over the St. Louis Rams.

I can't imagine why anybody would be. It's metal put through one of the best parts of the lady's body.

Man I just realized I totally got Guardians of the Galaxy and Galactic Guardians mixed up. I suppose thats what I get for trying to type up a bunch of shit before I had to run and take an actual shit.

I tend to catch up on all my nerd news at once, so there are times where I'm a few weeks behind on stuff and other stuff I know before anyone.

Also, for the record I can't stand Diablo Cody. I her movies, yes I dislike Juno. The United States of Tara is an alright show, but I never went out of my way to watch it like I did with a show like Breaking Bad.
