Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Did well in 3 of 4 leagues, with the slight possibility of winning the 4th. Sadly, that's my money league.

Money league went horrible. Sudfeld and Ridley fucked me, but even if I had put Run DMC and Brandon Meyers in, I'd still be like 20+ points down with only the Texans D left to go.
His late-game surge last night leaves me with the potential to win my money league game.

Started MJD, D. Bryant and James Jones in my money league at RB WR, and flex respectively, and the three combined for 8 points. If it weren't for the aforementioned late game surge by Meyers last night, I would have really been screwed.

Thankfully I have Aaron Rodgers, Larry Fitzgerald and Jordy Nelson as well, so I'm actually winning that game heading into tonight, 127-125. He's got Arian Foster, I Ryan Matthews. Don't like my chances, but I'm still in it after an awful showing by three players. I should have started Mike Williams as my flex over Jones, and DMC may have been the better choice at RB.

In my other two leagues, I waited on a QB and got Peyton Manning in both. I didn't even need to look at the scores to know I was winning both.

Not sure why I didn't sign up/how I missed the WZ league this year. I was MIA last year, but I must have simply missed sign-ups or what not this year. JGlass remembers the only year I played thusfar I'm sure. ;)

Finally got my ass in gear and watched a couple more of my never-depleting pile of DVDs.

Ted and Dredd were my choices.

Didn't laugh at Ted anywhere near as much as I thought I might and I could not but help think that there was something missing from Dredd - perhaps a more climactic ending and a better establishing of Dredd's reputation.

Still enjoyed them both though.

Not sure what I will go with next.

I'd really like to watch the new Judge Dredd, especially before the new Robocop comes out.

I wonder if there's any movie Hollywood won't remake. I'd imagine Citizen Kane leads the short list, but it's probably more out of the fact they doubt they could turn a profit on it than out of reverence to the original.

I'm watching Rosemary's Baby in tribute to the young Glassman.

If you want something new to focus on, all my film analysis classes used the scene where someone in Rosemary (or maybe her neighbor, I forget) gets a phone call, but the shot is positioned so that you can only see the back of the person. Supposedly in theaters, everyone leaned to the right to try and see around the door.

DMC is a fine choice until he gets hurt. There were leagues where he almost went undrafted because every single fantasy expert said that he was bad news, but it's not like the Raiders are going to put the ball in the air every down with Terrell Pryor at QB.

Dez Bryant should rebound after a poor week one showing, but I'm not sure about James Jones. Smart money says he just didn't get involved in the GB offense by freak chance, but when you spread the ball around as much as Aaron Rodgers does, you gotta wonder why Jones didn't get any love.

Also, if you're short on WRs, you might want to find Rueben Randell on waivers. Grabbing Julius Thomas at TE might not be a bad idea either.

Yes, and I want my revenge! I've never won a football league (I think), and you're one of the reasons why!

I still remember that game. I started Mark Sanchez over Drew Brees because I thought the Saints would bench Brees. He wound up having an amazing game and got me like, 40 fantasy points... and it still wouldn't have been enough to beat you.

I drafted him for that reason, because Pryor is his QB. That, and the Raiders installed a zone blocking scheme that was supposed to both benefit his style and keep him healthy.

Jones is sitting for me until he proves otherwise for me. But as semi-weak as my RB's are, my WR's are.

1. Bryant
2. Fitzgerald
3. Jordy Nelson
4. Greg Jennings
5. Mike Williams
6. Reuben Randle
7. James Jones

I drafted Ryan Broyles as well, but dumped him after he sat the Lions opener. I don't think I'll be needing him.

As for my TE position, someone already drafted Thomas. I'm trying to deal for Jordan Cameron, but the price might be too high. I'm hoping I'll be ok with Brandon Meyers and Martellus Bennett.

Damn straight I am. That was one of two leagues I won....that year. ;)

Yeah, I thought the 14 team league was rediculous, but I got fortunate with my drafting and the scoring format. That was the year Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson both had rediculous years, and I had them both. I had Marshall, Gates, Gore and R. Matthews in that league as well, which really is rediculous in a 14 team league. I think I only lost once all season.

I'll be sure to let Kizarney know that.

Hey they arent all winners. Whenever someone starts on about The Attitude Era being the greatest television ever- I remind them of Naked Mideon.

I wonder if there's any movie Hollywood won't remake.

I heard a rumor a few years back they were going to remake Spaceballs without Mel Brooks. So yeah, they will go for anything. Its Hollywood- where u earn a stamp on your Subway card for every dead hooker that dies in your bathroom.

Just got back from seeing a movie called Short Term 12, and it was fantastic, a great kickoff for my Fall moviegoing season. I recommend finding it at a theater near you and checking it out as it was a great script with some amazing performances by relative unknowns in the acting world.

Soooo I come down to the last play of week 1 potentially.

I am down 2, and I need Bullock to make this kick to win by 1.

Edit: Wooooooooooo 102-100. Hell I got 4 points for that somehow.

So they're saying Mark Sanchez's season might be over because he's going to need surgery on his arm, and if that's the case, I can't imagine him ever coming back to the NFL as a starting QB.

It's almost like a Shakespearean tragedy how this situation played out. Rex Ryan stood by his man through thick and thin, supporting him relentlessly, and to show just how much he supported him, he left him in a game that he shouldn't have been playing in, letting him get injured, and thus ruining his season/career. I believe that's irony.

He might be a douche, but you gotta feel sorry for Mark Sanchez. He didn't deserve this.

I consider feeling sorry for him, but then I look at this:

and remember that he's a douche.

So, with Dexter finishing up, and that too coming to a rather tame finish, I was hungry for some serial killer drama, so I decided to watch American Psycho starring Christian Bale. Bale delivers a performance that I believe is much better than what he does in the Batman movies. The ending too is surprisingly good, very Inception-like and something that has been done better than the ending in the book. Anyone else feel that way?

I sense that Dexter is literally the best piece of entertainment he's ever committed to in his life.

It's all uphill from there. Guy's got a bright future ahead of him. I'm almost jealous.

Why haven't you seen Long Term 12 yet? And have you seen Blue Jasmine yet? Knowing how much you loved Midnight in Paris, I'd suggest you nab a viewing of Blue Jasmine while it's still in theaters.

I enjoy plenty of other shows. I'm just not talking about them right now because they aren't currently being televised.

But I do love Dexter. Yes, the current season is amazingly dull and some of the hate is warranted but I get the feeling that most people who hate it have never really understood the show and want Dexter to be some ripoff of Hannibal/ Norman Bates/ Patrick Bateman.

Dexter without Doakes is like... Well make up your own fucking anecdotes, its shite but Doakes made it enjoyable, black stereotype that he was.

I saw Blue Jasmine. Best bit was all the young people in the theatre laughing at Louis CK while all the old people looked around the room in confusion.

Film was a dandy though.

I understand that Dexter is shit. What more do I need to know?

If any Netflix user runs out of movies to stream, try watching "Bubble." It's a short movie with little public exposure; this movie definitely deserve more attention.

Just a fun, short movie. Good acting too.
