Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Jordan Cameron, 9 rc for 109 yds and a TD in week one.

Good pick, NorCal.

Jordan who? Sounds like a good play nonetheless.

There were a few second string RBs today that have had better days than their starters, one of which was generally a top 5 pick in every draft. Fred Jackson put up quite a few more points than CJ Spiller, and Shane Vereen put up more points than Stevan Riddley.

Right now it's looking like I'm only winning one of my three leagues this week, and even that one is going to be close.

While some people would prefer he used the El Generico gimmick, I don't think it'd get him over on a major stage like WWE. Why? Well...frankly, it's kind of a joke when you think about it. El Generico is a red headed, nearly as white skinned as Sheamus Canadian of Syrian descent wrestling as a Luchadore from Tijuana, Mexico. It almost sounds schizophrenic. Also, the name "El Generico" pretty much translates into "the generic." Something like that works well on the indy circuit but not on a bigger stage. TNA did something kind of similar with Amazing Red a few years back in which they put him in a mask and called him Sangriento and it didn't exactly get over.

If "El Generico" showed up in WWE, people wouldn't take him seriously. They'd get a kick out of him doing his thing and the whacky aspects of his character, but they also get a kick out of Santino Marella. "El Generico" would most likely be a comedy jobber who could entertain fans and that fans could see is probably capable of being much more than his current role. They'd like the guy and he'd probably earn success as a mid-card and tag team wrestler, but would usually be jobbed out to the much bigger stars on the roster.

Increíble.

Considering a red-headed biker from Texas who has evil supernatural powers became one of the most over guys ever- I think we can suspend disbelief long enough to enjoy the 'El Generico' chatacter.

Hell, at least the 'generic luchador' character is more believable than half of the ******ed gimmicks WWE has forced us to watch over the years.

I'll be sure to let Kizarney know that.

How did everyone do after the bulk of the first weekend of fantasy? I beat Thriller in the WZ Small League (woo!) and I have a 25 point lead in my league with college/Boston friends and my opponent only has Antonio Gates to play, so I'm feeling good about that. Sadly, in my paid league, it looks like I'm going to lose with a 4 point lead going into Monday night and my opponent with McCoy and Owen Daniels to play.

Overall though, a nice start to my fantasy season!

I'm beating Habs 178-134, his only hope is to get 37 pts. from the Chargers D, since that's highly unlikely I'm just gonna go ahead & claim my victory in that one now. In my other league I won 110 to 75(woo!).

Thankyou, Calvin Johnson, for that wonderful bounty of seven whole points you got me today. Stellar, buddy. My cup runneth over.

I need a BIG game from Al Morris tomorrow night. Given how bad the Iggles run D is, I woud say there is a chance.

:suspic:

Assuming RGIII isn't getting 60 points tomorrow, I'm going 0-2. Big shoutout to David Wilson, Dwayne Bowe, Zach Sudfeld who got me a combined 2 points.

Also, I started TY Hilton over Hakeem Nicks. ended up being an incorrect decision.

Which was fucking absurd, who the fuck could have called Hilton scoring 7 damn points against the Raiders.

I was insanely unlucky this week. :lmao:

I would've beaten JGlass had I started Brandon Myers instead of Sudfeld. And I lost in baseball this week, so I miss the playoffs if I mathed right. I hate fantasy sports.

im confident ill end up losing my 2 - 5 points, would have been easily made up by starting Nicks over Hilton...or even Stone Cold Tavon Austin over Hilton.

If we both had our ideal rosters on the field, then I probably still would have won. Who would have thought that Eli Manning would rack up almost 10 more fantasy points than Aaron Rodgers? I'm also quickly learning that the handcuff strategy may not be for me as Ray Rice scored a nice pile of points and Bernard Pierce did very little to add to that. Maybe there will be a week where I miss out on a TD or a long run by Pierce, but I think I'm going to have to roll the dice with another player next week.

Money league went horrible. Sudfeld and Ridley fucked me, but even if I had put Run DMC and Brandon Meyers in, I'd still be like 20+ points down with only the Texans D left to go.

ESPN leagues, a little better.

One league I'm down 3 points, I have the Texans kicker and my opponent has Santana Moss. It's a toss up.

Other league I'm up 137-102. He's got RG3 I got Owen Daniels.

Don't be too sure about that Justin, that brick wall known as the San Diego Chargers defense is definitely good for 37 points for me this evening.

Oh look, I just looked out my window and saw a couple of pigs go flying by!

All in all, though, I'm reasonably pleased with this week. Losing to the guy who had the number one pick, while being basically in the middle of the pack in terms of overall points, not too shabby for my first shot at fantasy football. A few tweaks here and there and hopefully, I can get myself into contention and stay there. Congrats Justin!

I'm glad you asked.

While my backup QB put up 37 points on the bench (Flacco), Everyone else had a solid game for me except for Golden Tate (7 points, should have played Stevie Johnson at the flex this week) and the Bengals D (2 points, they played poorly). Justin Tucker got me 9 points (good enough for a kicker), and everyone else was over 10.

AJ Green needs to step it up though. He only got me 32 points this week....
If you can't tell that is sarcasm, then you need a brain transplant.

I have a 137.10-90.92 lead on my opponent in WZSL, and he has Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels, and Ryan Matthews to play. I don't expect the 3 of them to combine for 47 points, but it's possible. Either way, it shall be a good contest.

Finally got my ass in gear and watched a couple more of my never-depleting pile of DVDs.

Ted and Dredd were my choices.

Didn't laugh at Ted anywhere near as much as I thought I might and I could not but help think that there was something missing from Dredd - perhaps a more climactic ending and a better establishing of Dredd's reputation.

Still enjoyed them both though.

Not sure what I will go with next.
