Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

I dont really forsee anything that could stop them, besides themselves.

Yes, my NCAA obsession even extends into D2. I know pretty much the top 25.

Also, I still do, and always will, call it D2. they will have to change the FCS / FBS thing next year, wont they?
But it never was D2. It was D1-AA, D2 is a separate entity. College Football has 4 divisions, D3, D2, D1-FCS (1-AA), D1-FBS (1-A).

Movies I want to see for the rest of the year...

That's 24 movies in 4 months. I don't know if I have the drive and/or wallet to do 6 movies a month for 4 months. I'm anticipating pulling more than a few double features.

Of all those movies the ones in bold are the ones I want to see

Not interested in the Carrie remake? Julianne Moore's performance they show in the trailer is enough to get me excited for it.

It's also worth noting that half the reason I want to see Rush is so I can make "Why doesn't he just smash the other cars with Mjolnir?" type jokes. I tend to not be able to help myself with those types of jokes whenever I watch a movie that features a superhero star, like when my freshman year girlfriend got me to watch The Notebook with her and I kept asking, "Why doesn't Cyclops just kill Ryan Gossling with an optic blast?"

It was a healthy relationship.

Nope, not really a horror movie fan. The fact that it's a remake makes me want to see it even less, though I do like Chloe Moretz.

I want to see Rush too, I got it confused with that Ethan Hawke/Selena Gomez pile of shit car movie that opens this weekend.

Also, I have managed to get through every relationship in my life without ever having to see The Notebook so far.

I might try & see Closed Circuit sometime this weekend if I can muster up enough motivation to drive across town to the other movie theater.

Lol. Godfather 2 is my favorite movie followed by Departed and Goodfellas. I guess you could say I'm a wise guy. Plus, I also shared my love for City of God here before. I don't think Pitt is talentless, but he wouldn't crack my top 10. Leo and Denzel is my 1-2 punch.

But I am glad to break the ice in here.

That is one of the reasons I want to see it. Plus Chloe Grace Moretz. I just saw Kick-Ass 2 finally and I dont know what people are bitching about. It was a fun movie and just what I expected. Not blown away by all means, but it was a good sequel to the first.

And when I said D2, you, and everyone else, knew what I was talking about

The Mighty Ducks?

JGlass, you're an ice hockey fan. I'd recommend the documentary The Last Gladiators so that I can get a sense of how good it is. I was hooked the whole way through and was pretty sobered by the last 20 minutes or so but I guess that the story of Chris Nilan post-hockey is a well-known tale across the expansive pond?

I then followed up that film with a double header of Rise of the Planet of the Apes and End of Watch. Really liked both of them, moreso than I expected to.

I absolutely loved it, and I loved Chloe Grace Moretz in it. I still think her best performance, though, is as Haley Hooper in 30 Rock.

I am not aware of Chris Nilan's story, but he's a little before my time. Apparently he was pretty much a goon on the ice too, and those players really don't tend to make a long lasting name for themselves.

I was not particularly impressed with Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I thought End of Watch was just a notch above okay.

Nilan seems to be somewhat comparable to Paul Gascoigne (for the Brits) but Gazza seemed to be more talented on the pitch in terms of creativity than Nilan was on the ice. What came across from the documentary was what seemed like a necessary sub-breed of ice hockey player that would beat the shit out of people that tried to mess with the star player; Gretzkys enforcer was brought up but I can't remember who it was.

I enjoyed Rise...Apes more than I thought I would. The "take your hands off me..." quote wasn't necessary at all but the inclusion of the mounted police was a nice nod to the first film, as was Caesar playing with a Statue of Liberty toy.

End of Watch brought back memories of The Shield which is always appreciated. The toing and froing between POV cam and shaky handheld cam was a bit annoying at first but Pena and Gyllenhall were a good pairing. The ending was a little, "Oh that's it? OK then."

He played for the Montreal Canadiens but was born and raised in Boston, eventually joined the Bruins where he told a coach to go fuck himself then finished with Montreal. I think he said he spent 3000 minutes in the penalty box, so that may be a reason why he wasn't well known?

It's an interesting documentary whether you know who the guy is or not. As I said, I have no clue whatsoever when it comes to NHL/ice hockey but its an engrossing watch.

No interest in Out Of The Furnace? It's the thriller/drama with Christian Bale, Forest Whitaker, William Dafoe, and Woody Harrelson. Bale's character gets out of jail, and tries to save his brother (I forget the name of the guy, who plays him) from Harrelson, who portrays a crime boss.

Or The Family with Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Tommy Lee Jones? I know De Niro stars in a lot of shit now a days, but the trailers actually look good.

The only other two movies I'm really looking forward to this year are Insidious 2 and the Carrie remake.

All I know of him is he holds the record for most penalty minutes in a game with 42 in a game back in '91. Trivia question at the bar once. To spend close to 70% of the game in the box is insane.

Have you already come out to your friends and family or are we the first to know?

So it looks like my housing problem solved itself and I'll be moving into my new place tomorrow. It's a complete steal, and basically tailor made just for me.

I fail to see how watching anything with Jennifer Lawrence constitutes homosexuality, especially when she's in those skintight numbers they seem to be so fond of in the future.

Congratulations! Today I found out the last people to live in the apartment I'm moving into paid $1600 less in rent each month!

Thanks, man. But ouch on your end. The room I'm moving into is probably 800 square, is completely furnished, and I pay $300 a month for absolutely everything.

So I moved into the new place, and it's kind of a dump. crumbling walls, chipping paint, broen fixtures, holes in the walls, garbage all over the place... it's not pretty. Once the other guys move in we're gonna give it a good cleaning and wipe down, but that's not gonna change the fact the house itself needs a LOT of work. Oh, and the front door is broken, so basically we can't leave the house unoccupied at any point.

Our landlord has a LOT of work to do.

Sounds like the last house I lived in, did you take pics of all the damage before moving in? It might be a good idea so that the landlord can't claim you guys did all the damage. This is something that happened to me before, landlord claimed we damaged the place & kept the security deposit & then sued us for another $2200, we ended up making a deal & getting it down to around $500 just to make the whole situation go away, but it was still shitty, we were still paying for damage that was there when we moved in.
