CHDavid and I were pretty much live tweeting the majority of the movie. Lived up to my expectations and then some. I love these awfully great SyFy movies. 2 Headed Shark Attack is on now. Too lazy to change the channel. Brooke Hogan is in it and she doesn't satisfy me nearly as much as her father does.

Found the whole movie on Youtube. Gonna watch it tomorrow.
As I have mentioned, I'm seeing it in IMAX 3D and am ready for it to blow up my brain. I hope that "rather enjoyable" translates into superduperawesomesauce in IMAX.

I think the only literary classic I had to read in school was Animal Farm, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Everything else I remember reading, aside from Roald Dahl's biography, was some shitty novel set against the background of the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
Now, at no stage did I ever hate going to school, but fuck me, that was boring.
And that is even before we get to the tedium that was the history courses we had to do on British and Irish politics from the end of the French Revolution to the Anglo-Irish Agreement, all the while missing out the really important issues like the Napoleonic Wars and the First and Second World Wars...
When a subject makes me start to hate history, you can see how boring and repetitive it might have been.
Thank the Lord for the French Revolution - that course got me a booze-filled trip to Paris - and the Classical Civilisation course, which got me a trip to Rome and into university.

Reviews for Pacific Rim have been good, but I don't know if I'd enjoy it. I've never been big on Godzilla-type movies, and the one I did really enjoy, Cloverfield, was more for the presentation and atmosphere than the spectacle.
You know, at the time I was in this cinema seminar class where we were talking a lot about posthumanist philosophy, so I saw the two people piloting the robot and thought, "What does it mean and why should I care?
Then I realized it was a giant robot fighting giant alien monsters, and that's pretty much all I need to know.
They play in Florida, not Pennsylvania. You don't get to replace the F with a Ph and pretend like it's cool, phool.
People do that still? I just took it off the actual spelling of Dolphins haha.
You know what irks me though around here? The "ill" stickers people put on their cars. I am not a fan.
I always figured that it was spelled "fins" because Dolphins have fins. Your way makes sense too.

Yeah, that shit is dumb. I live in a more Northern part of NJ, so we don't see too many Philadelphia sports fans up here, especially Phillies fans when there are two baseball teams right across the river. Well, one baseball team and one team that tries to play baseball and fails miserably. Of course, I root for the latter.
Those that have them get super defensive about it. Typical Philadelphia sports fan. I actually don't like the majority of Philadelphia sports fans. I like the Phillies and Sixers and all, but I'm not gonna get super asshole like about them when talking sports. Or go on a rampage when they suck, shit happens. I try not to even bother with them.
