I took in a midnight showing of The Great Gatsby last night. Amazing 3D effects, Leo is outstanding, but overall, it's a bad case of style over substance.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to having to sit through that movie. The rap soundtrack seems like a bad case of Luhrman trying too hard to be stylish and flashy when he should really just concentrate on the message.

I actually don't really like the X-Men; comics, cartoons, movies or otherwise. There are, of course, exceptions.

Yeah yeah, I know, you're a soulless bastard that doesn't understand the plight of the mutants. Quentin Quire is a pretty okay dude, though, even if he has tried to fuck the X-Men on multiple occasions.

Thank you. To be honest, I kind of expected to win that match after reading the other RPs. Bearded Gents were good, but we had more going on, and Technosa was definitely on par with ours, but I think ultimately not mentioning their opponents may have cost them the match, something I can relate to.

I'm very pleased with the show's results tonight... apart from the TAS stuff anyway. That shit's just a mess. Everything else was solid though.

I'm thinking about watching a fairly recent zombie movie. Any suggestions?

The only zombie movies I've seen in the past 5 years that I've enjoyed are 28 Days Later, Zombieland, and I Am Legend.

Within your character? I'm assuming you can't make him unbeatable in kayfabe. As for weapons allowed... I doubt you could bring in anything that would be considered lethal.

If you want to be boring, sure. I mean, yeah, there's a limit to how crazy things can get, and I wasn't a big fan of DC touting around a bazooka or Ty Burna making the ring burst into flames, but I have no problem with a man that thinks he's a robot or a man that thinks he's an alien (and for all intents and purposes is), or really any of the characters right now. I think we can probably push the envelope more without it dissolving into complete silliness.

Speaking of e-fedding, Hey Barbosa, where are you? We should've had a name change bet on Callahan being in the KC Main Event, you'd have a pretty funny name right about now. Should've guessed he'd won though, he'd been upbeat and we'd not seen one thread dedicated to how much he hates his parents etc. I can't believe I am saying this but I actually want Showtime to interject and make it a triple threat.

I think it would've been a little clearer without the waiting between, and granted I know more about the storyline because I'm in it, but I didn't find it that confusing.

I had no problem following what was going on but I do think Creative crammed a little too much into one scenario - the match itself, the redebut of DC, the return and then turn of Jacobs, the abduction and attempted brainwashing of Mikey and then the return of Howard.

The story itself is not bad at all. I just think Creative over-stretched and perhaps even hot-shotted it. You have to remember that there is quite a bit of time between LL and KC and there was more than enough there to fill out a round or two. I would almost have held off on the return/turn of Jacobs for a while and have Howard save Mikey (although remain unseen), which would have removed the question of why did Howard not come out to help Mikey during his abduction rather than wait until his return during the Lottery?

To be honest though, that is only a minor criticism - "Hey Creative, you are trying to be too creative." And the only other criticisms I have - the over-telegraphing of Ty's return bugged me a little and I have a concern over the use of Celeste. Creative and Ech need to be careful about how they play that as Celeste could easily become nothing other Holmes' lip-locking arm candy rather than a Chyna-type bodyguard who continues on her own competitive path - are also minor.

On top of that, Creative has done a good job in laying the foundations of many a good feud for the next series up to KC and beyond.

I had the same thoughts.The Jay-Z songs were way too awkward. Didn't fit within the context of the movie at all. It's one of the main reasons why I didn't like Luhrman's Romeo & Juliet. Lurnman tries way too hard to be hip and cool, and he sacrifices the soul of the story in the process.

Things dissolving into complete silliness? Have you read some of your roleplays, lmao... I think a net gun and a symbol poured to burn on the canvas for 5 seconds is tame compared to some of the stuff you guys write.
