Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

There is a clear drop off in faces after Showtime. Our main event is seriously heel heavy right now, a problem we are all too aware of.

Since I got on creative, I've found my least favorite thing is listening to people complain right away instead of letting things play out a bit. Sometimes I feel like if we don't hit people over the head with something, they won't get it and will complain.

Oh and all that creative bias stuff in BS, I'm on creative and I don't win shit.

Former creative bias is holding you down ;)

I've been waiting ages to post here. I wondered if my creative status may have been antagonistic. now it's out of the window...
It was a bit overbooked. I'm not angry, as I think it was written well enough to get the point over that TSA attempted to brainwash Stormrage, but what came out on paper(or text) wasn't 100% idea that Numbers and I(and to a lesser extent Thriller)had originally wanted.

The original idea was for the lights to go down and upon them coming back on, TSA would be dragging Mikey off. Throughout the show camera crews are looking for them, to no avail. Cut to the actual Lottery where Mikey is doing the bidding of TSA, until Howard makes his surprise return and snaps him out of it.

I wanted to play to the mystical side of GM by having a scene where after the lights go out, Mikey was tied to the cage and it started to rise by GM willing it to rise. That seemed a bit too much though.
I'm not entirely happy with it but Kermit and I did discuss it at fairly significant length the last two evenings so I can't claim a lack of input. It's just nowhere near what I would have done if I had written it myself. The actual action was great and I loved how our story dominated the middle act of the Lottery. (I'm not going to mention how harshly I thought an early exit was. I accept I'm nowhere near the upper echelon of RPers here anymore.) The last act of DC was excellently written.

I'm so excited to see him & Slice here. Before I met Saxton and Saboteur, those guys did the best comedy I have ever seen in RPs.

But I share your opinions about the segments, the Jacobs thing was plain weird and Howard getting there so quick, I was expected Howard to have a run in rather than an entry. Still, I expect the KC match to be excellent and I'm fiercely determined to make up for the disaster that was WZCW vs AoC.

To be fair, Barbosa and S.H.I.T aren't exactly heels and it's not like we are poor RP'ers either. SaboSax are tag champions now but both of them could've and could still step up as well, just because guys work together doesn't mean they should be marginalised to the tag division. You did it okay with Rush and Sam Smith.

Any faces I am forgetting?

Triple X, but he's cooled off kind of after a hot Fall and Winter. Barbosa and S.H.I.T. could both be main eventers, and I think Saxton and Saboteur both have main event potential. I still think a triple threat for the world title between Holmes, Callahan, and Showtime is the way to go, though, with Barbosa and/or S.H.I.T. looming in the wings to challenge the winner of that match.

Fatal Four Way Kingdom Come Main Event. Holmes vs. Callahan vs. SHIT vs. Barbosa for the WZCW Heavyweight Championship. Two faces. Two heels. One uneasy alliance. Four great RPers. Talk about one hell of a match.

Ah, you're experiencing the disconnect between how creative handle your character and how you do. Get ready for the part where you have to write around GM acting differently on the shows to how he does in RPs.

You want a main event face?

Find a way to lure Kravinoff away from the corrupting influence and flowing, golden locks of Constantine.

Yes, but he PMed them to discuss rather than throwing a temper tantrum in the discussion thread.

To an extent but the issue I have is slightly different.
The tantrums came after I'd given up on being civil with Creative.
I'm not touching this with a barge pole.

Not yet but KC 6, I'd expect this. I know it's a long way off but you dont need me to tell you that you could do it. Easily.

I'd be Ok with it, I like all four guys. The problem I have is I think that it's a big jump to get Barbosa and SHIT in the KC main event after that show. Any other PPV, it wouldnt be so tough I think.

I would say that someone else finding their way into the main event of KC alongside Holmes and Drake would play into the hands of...

Drake Callahan
Former WZCW Champion
Lethal Lottery Winner
Conspiracy Theorist Extraordinaire.

"Turning any setback or slight, imagined or real, into a vast, insidious conspiracy against me."

Est. 2009

It'd be a push and the Four Faces/BarboSHIT/Technosa/Barbed Wire will most likely have business of their own at Kingdom Come now. I just found it odd that that particular comment was made when we could have been pushed up the card at any point of the last month or more.

Something to think about after Kingdom Come perhaps.

The Ugandan Wildman would be an awesome choice as well.

Where the fuck did this come from?

I thought it was an incredibly well timed comment after I asked about faces that I had forgotten.

If you want to be boring, sure. I mean, yeah, there's a limit to how crazy things can get, and I wasn't a big fan of DC touting around a bazooka or Ty Burna making the ring burst into flames, but I have no problem with a man that thinks he's a robot or a man that thinks he's an alien (and for all intents and purposes is), or really any of the characters right now. I think we can probably push the envelope more without it dissolving into complete silliness.

So can someone bring me up to date on what happened in the Stormage/GM match and why there were bazookas? I really don't understand what's going with that.

GM has decided to try turning Mikey to his side by capturing him with a net gun and brainwashing him. Derek Jacobs saved him and then James Howard returned to presumably reform Strikeforce with Jacobs as an ally to take on the Sacrificial Altar of GM, DC and Westhoff.

What is there to not get?

How it was written was incredibly confusing.

I think it would've been a little clearer without the waiting between, and granted I know more about the storyline because I'm in it, but I didn't find it that confusing.

I had no problem following what was going on but I do think Creative crammed a little too much into one scenario - the match itself, the redebut of DC, the return and then turn of Jacobs, the abduction and attempted brainwashing of Mikey and then the return of Howard.

The story itself is not bad at all. I just think Creative over-stretched and perhaps even hot-shotted it. You have to remember that there is quite a bit of time between LL and KC and there was more than enough there to fill out a round or two. I would almost have held off on the return/turn of Jacobs for a while and have Howard save Mikey (although remain unseen), which would have removed the question of why did Howard not come out to help Mikey during his abduction rather than wait until his return during the Lottery?

To be honest though, that is only a minor criticism - "Hey Creative, you are trying to be too creative." And the only other criticisms I have - the over-telegraphing of Ty's return bugged me a little and I have a concern over the use of Celeste. Creative and Ech need to be careful about how they play that as Celeste could easily become nothing other Holmes' lip-locking arm candy rather than a Chyna-type bodyguard who continues on her own competitive path - are also minor.

On top of that, Creative has done a good job in laying the foundations of many a good feud for the next series up to KC and beyond.

Yeah, the overbooking was my issue, but I have no real complaints about the KC-cycle stories as they are now. Pretty interesting and exciting stuff coming up. Color me intrigued. I'm not complaining about anything except for how everything was stuffed into the Mikey/Mystique match and that made it really hard to follow.

My only real issue with the stories are Callahan being a boring winner (Deserved or not, it doesn't really matter to me) and Ty returning at all.

I get where you are coming from. I knew most of that was coming (I marked out for Howard though. Completely took me by surprise), but I was expecting Derek's return, DC's debut, etc. to be spread out more across the show, rather than all in a 4 paragraph stretch.

I actually haven't been paying attention to the main event much at all, other than Holmes, who I quite enjoy.

I was also a fan of El Califa, so I'm sad to see him go. I'll hold off judgement on Ty's return, for now at least.

My understanding was that Howard was the man Jacobs called in the parking lot. Which is going to be a central part of the next RP I think...

That either does not explain it as Howard was already present in the arena and therefore should have been able to help Mikey or leads on to another question of if Howard was not present at the arena and needed to be called by Jacobs, how did he have a spot in the Lottery? Did he take Ricky's or TLT's?

Don't want to be that guy, but I wrote the match ending as best I could without it seeming like a complete mess. The ideas for it were scattered and there were tons of different suggestions for it in the back. I told all I could that it was was overbooked, but I was encouraged to write it the way it turned out per request by Yaz, Numbers, and Falkon. In hindsight, I think it turned out fine, but whatever was written on the match ending was basically per request by the parties involved.

I did suggest a simpler route to work with the requests made that excluded the brainwashing scenario.

I wont lie I had to read it twice. On the other hand I think its one of the top stories in the fed right now.

The only thing I didn't understand was someone saying there was a bazooka, and then others saying it was a net gun which would have made more sense. Everything else was fine to me.

It was a net gun that looked like a bazooka. As the writer, I thought that no one would surely recognize a bazooka-looking gun as a net gun. So, it was portrayed as a bazooka until it fired, which revealed that it was a net-gun.
