Glass Ass: The OFFICIAL JGlass Thread

Samus hate hurts my heart. Metroid is such a good series and she's such an awesome character. :( I love Mass Effect and voted for Shepard based on biotic abilities but man, no need to be sour that one space soldier knocked out the other.

Nick Fury getting this far makes me very happy.

Yeah, I'm making it my mission to see both she and Link eliminated from the tourney. Most of my favorites are gone too. It's up to Hulk and Fury now.

Link sucks too. I'm sorry if you read that Lee. Hulk's my prediction to win it, I'd be okay with him winning it, because you know, he is the Hulk.

They were one of the best parts of the show on Sunday.

Missed NoC. But watched RAW and I couldn't comprehend all of the magic I may have missed from them the night before so I just wiped away my tears, carried on and thoroughly enjoyed them. The plural they use in "I AM THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS" makes me laugh until my sides split. It's genius. Damien Sandow's English lesson was amusing as well.

A plastic bag blowing in the breeze > Ziggler.

Well it is American Beauty after all.

My apologies, couldn't resist. Same thing happened with Dr. Who just now. My catalogue of shitty jokes is endless.

Definitely, and if anyone knows how to take down an Iron Man suit, it's Nick Fury. Then again, if anyone knows how to withstand a Fury lead S.H.I.E.L.D. assault, it's Tony Stark.

Wait, Fury has all of S.H.I.E.L.D to back him? Shouldn't Iron Man just ring The Avengers in that case?

I would say Link is in a similar category as the Dovahkiin when it comes to how powerful he is/can be. The sheer array of weaponry, spells and powers he can call upon means that there is an argument to be made for him giving virtually anyone a challenge, which makes him a good character to have with regards to getting a decent back and forth.

Of course, there is also the argument as to which incarnation of Link we are talking about (an argument that can be put forward for virtually all of the competitors). The recurring being known as the Hero of Time has used a staggering array of powers over the centuries but no one incarnation has access to them all. For example, Wind Waker Link can manipulate the wind but cannot transform into a Goron as he is not the same Link as the one who obtains the Goron mask in Majora's Mask. Indeed, most Links are a different person than the protagonist of previous games (OoT Link is the same as MM Link and I think there is another, the Link from Zelda 1 and 2 maybe).

MM Link in particular is a dangerous incarnation to focus given the wide array of masks he has, including the best/worse in the Fierce Deity Mask, the use of which would in all likelihood get Link disqualified from the tournament.

Hulk's my prediction to win it, I'd be okay with him winning it, because you know, he is the Hulk.

Goku is easily strong enough to defeat Hulk but the pro-comic bias of many and the anti-DBZ stance of even anime fans make Kakarot's victory highly unlikely.

Wait, my joke didn't cheer you up? There would be absolutely no hate whatsoever if someone, anyone could come up with a viable reason as to why Samus would defeat Shepard in one-on-one combat. Apart from DirtyJose's half-hearted attempt, nobody even bothered but Samus still won so comfortably. 'Twas irritating to see.

I can't stand your face :l

Yeah, well this what I think of DBZ & your face...

Yes, I know this. It's a popularity contest. Otherwise Shepard would have beaten Samus.

I say I'd be okay with Hulk winning it because he's a worthy winner, unlike Samus. Goku's obviously a worthy winner too but this anti-Dragonball shenanigans makes it, as you said, unlikely. That's why I'm predicting Hulk to win it, because he's capable and popular.

She had no business getting past Sheppard, and nobody even had a half decent argument with how she'd do it. She wins based on the sheer popularity of her name and her game alone.

Well Damien Sandow is spectacular. And if there's one thing you should watch from NoC it's the Cena/Punk match. But after that it's the backstage segment after Bryan and Kane win the tag team championships and start shouting, "I am the tag team champions!" Kane gets to do his comedy bits, and it's just fantastic.

Well it is American Beauty after all.

Probably my 4th or 5th favorite movie of all time. It's a welcome reference.

No, but Fury is pretty much a one-man S.H.I.E.L.D. assault.

What I don't like about the Link arguments is that every round people are arguing for a different Link. i also don't like the "He puts on the rock monster mask and rolls into an impenetrable ball and smushes his opponent" argument. I know his little rock ball form is impenetrable to arrows and swords and magic and what not, but what about high powered missiles? Lasers? Other futuristic weaponry?

I'm looking at you, Doc.

It would be a good fight, and I look forward to the arguments as I anticipate that should be the final battle. Though I wouldn't discount Juggernaut either.

While Juggernaut is likely to make all the way, I feel that to have a decent final, we would need Goku to overcome the Hulk. Cain Marko vs Bruce Banner's greener side would be a pretty crap contest from an argument stand point as they rely on a very similar fighting style; essentially it would be a repeat of the current Hulk/Thing contest.

"The Hulk is strong enough to stop/redirect Juggernaut; therefore, he wins," with there being little or no recourse for an argument.

At least with Goku, the different fighting styles could give us some added dimensions.

Boba Fett vs. Iron Man would've been a fun match-up but no, a bunch if idiots had to go a vote for fucking Bugs Bunny.

Pleasantly surprised at how far Psylocke has made it, & really really really hope she makes it at least one more round.

Another reason to shy away from it being the final.

I suppose the question boils down to whether or not Wolverine can cut through Juggernaut's armor, which I reckon he can. A Hulk vs. Wolverine final would be interesting, but I'm not sure it would be as good as Goku vs. Wolverine/Juggernaut.

Exactly. And it pisses me off.

I've always liked face Kane, or Kane when he isn't being too serious and shit, him and Bryan are a superb duo and Bryan's future in the WWE is looking awesome if he gets booked right. Same with Mr Sandow. I've heard that Punk used the Rock Bottom, if he did, it must have been bloody fantastic.

Probably my 4th or 5th favorite movie of all time. It's a welcome reference.

That high? I know it's good and all but damn you must love yourself some Kevin Spacey.

No, but Fury is pretty much a one-man S.H.I.E.L.D. assault.

Oh, alright. Yeah, Iron Man still wins with the greatest of ease.

I just think it's spectacularly acted, shot, and the story is phenomenal, not to mention it has a great philosophy that I'm in nearly 100% agreement with.

Don't count Fury out so quickly. He's a tough motherfucker and he probably has two or three devices on him at any given time that can help him beat Iron Man.

I am fine with anyone but Wolverine winning. The whole "admantium skeleton" argument is really a bit too much.

Also, I hated the amount of focus on Wolverine in the X-Men movies. They went from X-Men in the cartoons to 'Wolverine and others' in the movies.

It's one of those rare days where one of my classes gets canceled. So, what am I doing with an hour to kill? Sitting at one of the campus restaurants, on Reddit and WrestleZone. It's a pretty nice time.

You boys will have to forgive my ignorance as I don't pay much attention to the non-wrestling tournaments.

I read through the Battlezone one on one threads, and didn't see Superman anywhere. I'm sure somewhere, in one of the threads, this has been discussed, but I'm curious.

We try not to pick anyone that's too overpowering to put in the tournament, which is why you don't see Thor, Silver Surfer, Green Lantern, or Dr. Strange in the tournament either.

No One Likes Superman Anymore

I like Superman.

I have never liked Superman. For being the ultimate superhero, he is an incredibly dull character.

He needs more of an edge or some real psycholgical trauma that affects him permanently, like accidentally or purposefully killing someone a lot weaker than him.
