How has Lethal been as a champ? I kind of tuned out around the time he won the belt.

Pretty good so far, better than Jay Briscoe was IMO and he was good at best. I mean right now hes feuding with Roderick Strong, both members of reDRagon and now AJ Styles too among others. They've literally made it so that everyone has a legitimate reason to be after Lethal.

Strong is fucking amazing these days, I'd love to see him with the belt again. I've gotta jump back in.

Right now I'm watching an old show, Dedicated from January 2007. Continuing my mission to watch every ROH show ever in order. Been at it awhile. Just watched a fun Davey Richards/Rocky Romero match to open the show where Davey actually did a great job of selling an injury at the end that played into the finish, which proves once and for all that Davey CAN sell, he just chooses not to sometimes.

What happens when you actually put effort into building a rivalry over a year where neither man ever really touches each other?

An awesome reaction from the fans when the victim finally stands up for himself.

Awesome moment from last nights ROH.

How will this be different than them being at most big shows as before? besides the high profile nature of the signing itself, of course

Yeah I don't know, they said on Twitter they'll still be working PWG as well, & I assume since NJPW & ROH have a working relationship that they'll still be working over their just as much as well. Doesn't seem like it really changes much for them with the exception of probably more money, & it makes it harder for WWE to sign them (though they really never seem to express much interest in WWE anyway).

From what we can see, they'll no longer be doing indies aside from PWG. Why PWG? Because its rumored that they have small parts in PWG and have funded Super Dragon when he couldn't financially. ROH is their home now whereas NJPW was before. I don't know what it means for their NJPW touring dates, they might do less, we'll see. Obviously it stops anyone else from signing them like WWE or Lucha Underground, the latter were said to have offered them big money. They're far and away the hottest act that wasn't signed so this to ROH will hopefully get more asses in the seats at shows and more eyes on TV's.

What we can't see, Matt Jackson has said in shoots that ROH pays them a bulk of their income nowadays and they don't get as much percentage of the royalties as say an Adam Cole or a Jay Lethal gets who are exclusive to ROH. So I assume they'll get more of that. That helps because they're going to be in one of the ROH action figure series so along with the shirts, hats, DVD and action figures It'll make them more money. Not to mention ROH exclusive deals seem to pay good money as Michael Elgin has said the money from it allowed him to buy two houses in the last year.

What this means more than anything is that the Bucks are actually going to have a ROH tag title reign where they don't lose the belts immediately after winning them.

I'm interested to see where they fit into Final Battle...

War Machine are set to face The Kingdom but there's one more TV taping in Nashville before FB so that could change.

I can only hope that they do less New Japan shows and I have to see them less and less. No hate, but they're not my cup of tea and I'm hoping New Japan does more with a native contingent in the junior heavyweight division.

Edit:

If we could swap War Machine or the Briscoes or The Addiction for The Young Bucks, I'd be quite pleased.

No luck on that one. Young Bucks make WAAAAAY more in New Japan than ROH is paying them unless this contract was exorbitantly larger than any they've given out before, and I doubt it.

No doubt this won't interfere with PWG and New Japan, they'd have no incentive to sign this deal otherwise.

Meltzer said in the Observer that it is the largest ROH exclusive contract ever, its for very good money but their are incentives to it such as they keep their New Japan deals, they can still work PWG (they reportedly don't work for very much there to help Super Dragon) they can work overseas so long as its approved by ROH, they get to keep their Pro Wrestling Tee's store so combined, "they are going to make more money than any other act that hasn't had large exposure on WWE television."

That's not bad.

Watched some of the show last night. They have noticeabley improved how their show looks. Good stuff.

Get out of my head dick. I also caught the main event of the show last night (actually, I think it was last week's show because the main event was Styles/Cole/O'Reilly which was fun but criminally short) and I immediately thought "Wow, their production values have totally improved since the last time I watched" which was only, like, maybe a year ago. Maybe because I watched it in HD for the first time, but it looked good, and that was basically their biggest issue in the past.

I also like that it airs on NESN, the New England Sports Network, because it reminds me of a simpler time when wrestling would be on your local sports network with house shows and indies and shit.

So ROH is now on COMET, starting December 2nd, so they weren't able to save the Destination America deal even with the new president of programming coming in.

What is COMET you ask? Well... eh, it's... ehm... I have absolutely no idea.

From reading it seems to be a channel that is co-owned by Sinclair and MGM, it launched in October but it airs on subchannels. It airs in 60% of the US but its not available on cable or satellite so I have no idea what it is, how its national or what ROH is thinking. Judging from the fact it is owned by SBG I assume SBG have something to do with this. I have seen some people say that when channels launch sometimes they will air on subchannels until they launch on their own so maybe that's the plan here.

Either way, back to watching ROH on Thursday's on the website. Guess it's still better than what TNA will have if they don't find a TV deal by January.

I hope this doesn't surprise anyone. And don't worry TNA fanboys, you're next.

The writing was on the wall. Though its kinda silly for DA to toss out a free show that bumped their ratings. Even if it's wrestling, they could find a good slot.

Wrestling's done on DA it seems.

I've seen two guys on Twitter I follow who are big TNA diehards get destroyed though. One who commented that ROH's TV future "is done", despite the fact ROH is still on syndication in 46% of the States and this deal does make them a bit more accessible.

If COMET becomes a cable or satellite station, which seems to be what they're looking to do eventually, it could be a good thing. 12AM timeslot though? Jesus Christ!

TNA on YouTube would probably be more profitable for them than TV and Impact Zone ar this point. If episodes were good and $5 a pop, it might be something.

They couldn't get people to buy their PPVs, you actually think anyone but the most die-hard fans would shell out 5 bucks for a 2 hour episode of Impact?

Plus the loss in advertising makes that a very unlikely scenario.

Nobody is paying $5 an episode for Impact on Youtube, especially with the roster as depleted of stars as it is now.

"I listen to those darlin wrestling fans and what they want is something DIFFERENT! So instead of offering a huge chunk of our video library and all those pay per views for $10 a month as the best deal in wrestling history (Other than the Brown Bag Special. Did I mention JEREMY BORASH autographs those fancy bags?), we're just asking for $20 a month to see our TV show!"

DARLIN!
