TheOneBigWill's "take" on Armageddon 2007:
U.S. Championship: M.V.P. v. Rey Mysterio: I personally think the match could've gone a lot better. I didn't catch the beginning, because I was scrambling to finish up other stuff I had to do.. however, when I did come in, it just seemed poorly put together & ended with M.V.P. getting counted out.
Overall, I hope for another rematch, but only if there will be a solid winner in the end. I can't stand countout/DQ endings, as it doesn't solve, or finish anything.. yet a lot of times they won't ever continue beyond that point, due to any number of other reasons.
Big Daddy V & Mark Henry v. Kane & C.M. Punk: So, it wasn't the car wreck I thought it would be, however the shear fact that C.M. Punk had ANY type of offense in this match just made the whole thing fake.
I'm really getting annoyed with the fact that Kane has the potential to be a good wrestler, & a better than average big man, yet he just doesn't seem to care anymore. (thinking back to 1998-2001) This match was nothing but kicks, punches, chest chops & squash holds. Thankfully, it didn't last too long.
Shawn Michaels v. Mr. Kennedy: A solid match all the way around. In my opinion, it was lacking/missing something & I don't quite know what, but I don't think this feud is over just yet.. so I'm sure it'll only continue to get better.
My main argument was that Kennedy was suppose to play off having a possible broken hand, yet he kept shaking it. I've never had a broken hand, but I know people who have.. & they DON'T repeatedly shake it. They clutch it, they grimace, they show general pain for it.. but they don't shake it, & wiggle their fingers. Therefore, Kennedy basically no-sold the injury.
I was also greatly surprised to see Shawn Michaels win, but I was completely thrilled & happy with the outcome. H.B.K. is my all-time favorite wrestler, & to see that they don't bury him to up-and-comers all the time is a nice thing.
#1. Contender's Match: Jeff Hardy v. Triple H.: This was honestly one of the main matches I was looking forward to, & for the second straight time this week, Jeff Hardy just seems to have lost his "passion" for wrestling.
Is it just me? Seriously, he just didn't seem to show passion, even after winning! I wasn't shocked that Triple H. lost, but I'd be highly surprised if Jeff Hardy continues to get the Championship match without Triple H. somehow ended up involved before its over. All in all, this match should've been a lot better, & these two had a better match back in 2001 when Triple H. squashed Hardy. At least then, Hardy had passion.
The Great Khali v. Finlay: Thankfully, it wasn't terribly long. Furthermore, it actually surprised me. (its funny how Khali can shock you from time to time) Normally when I see a Khali match, I don't expect hardly any offense from him outside of a boot or chops, but it honestly looked like he tried in this match.
It was great to see Finlay pick up the victory, I just hope they'll move Finlay & Hornswoggle out of this feud. The match might not have been a total disaster, but that doesn't mean I wanna see it continue, either.
W.W.E. Championship: Randy Orton v. Chris Jericho: You know the number one way to determine when a Championship match, such as this one, is going to end in a screw job? Its put on before the Women's Championship, in the middle of the show.
The overall match was really good. I still hate seeing Jericho use that lame ass boston crab, & have to dreadfully listen to the announcer's screaming "Walls of Jericho!!" Because its not, its not even close. Outside of that, the match was generally good. Nice & solid between both guys.
When Jericho hit J.B.L. you could practically know then & there that it would end with him. The look J.B.L. had, followed by Jericho's moronic decision to shove J.B.L. upon getting up. Then to once again listen to the announcer's drowning on about how it doesn't warrent a comeback. Jericho shoved him!! Thats a fighting move in wrestling.. it warrents a comeback, in my opinion.
Women's Championship: Beth Phoenix v. Mickie James: I assumed it would be a great match-up, & I wasn't disappointed. These two really need to continue the feud into a rematch at the Royal Rumble. I doubt it'll happen, but if this match hasn't shown W.W.E. that Mickie James needs to be a solid carrier of this division, along with Phoenix, then I don't know what else to say.
World Championship Match: Batista v. Edge v. Undertaker: Save the best, for last. The entire night all I cared about was seeing Edge reclaim the World Championship. And during his promo earlier in the night, I was curious if he actually would.
Overall, the match was about as bad as a Triple Threat match can get, simply because it was fast paced & rarely did you see all three Superstars interacting at the same time. Thannkfully though, that seems to be because they're saving Taker/Edge for Mania.
The shock of the night came when MULTIPLE EDGE'S showed up!! For as glued as my eyes were to this match, it took me a minute to realize I was seeing double, when one was laid out next to the steps & the real one was ducking down, behind the ring post. All in all, the plan worked out greatly, as Edge came out in the end, holding the one thing he never should've lost.. & the one thing I hope he doesn't end up losing in 3 monthes.
Biggest Letdown: Jeff Hardy v. Triple H. -- Simply because it just didn't seem like either one wanted to truly work this match. Jeff Hardy got the clean victory over Triple H., yet showed NO emotion or passion for anything. All in all, when Triple H. cleanly lets you go over him.. I suggest you show passion in return.
Biggest Shock: Multiple Edge's!! Seriously, whoever the two guys were that played the doubles.. they looked like him. One almost looked like Jesse (from Jesse & Festus) but I doubt it was.
Overall Thoughts: The p.p.v. didn't live up to complete expectations, but it gave me what I wanted the most. So through my eyes, it deserves a high rating. I was glued to the whole p.p.v., because each match was very highly anticipated.
Rating: 9/10: I got everything I wanted out of this p.p.v. Each match was greatly built, with most of them having at least a decent outcome. The M.V.P./Mysterio ending sucked, which dropped the rating in my mind.. & the Hardy/H.H.H. match wasn't as big as it was suppose to be.. but outside of that, everything else was amazing & well put together!
