So if our friends in Australia wish to bypass their ridiculous game rating laws and ship in a video game from the US, they can. If there is an awesome game released in Japan that won't be imported to the US (mind you that you don't care about having Japanese voice overs), we can order it in anyway and still be able to play it.
Probably won't affect most people here, but it's still one more thing the PS4 has over the Xbox One.
The Australian ratings laws for video games actually got fixed not too long ago, r18+ ratings wooooo.
But it's still great news to know that I could just get a UK console for $400-ish AUD instead of paying the price they've given us which is $549, and then get all my games from japan to save even more money

I still think that there are more possibilities with the dual-screen for Nintendo to develop and appeal to the same people who snapped up the Wii in such droves. We have still yet to see the golf game that was part of the early advertisements where you put the Gamepad on the ground for it to show you the lie of your ball while you use the Wiimote as a golf club.
An interesting little aside about the Wii is that through my mum who was a PE teacher there, I bought my old school a Wii (they reimbursed me) to use in their PE classes, specifically games like Just Dance.

Not if they still want to launch by the end of the year, it takes time to build all those consoles. If Microsoft wanted to make changes they'd basically have to halt production, & postpone he release date, which would basically been seen as them saying "Yeah, our console is shit, so we're going to start over & make it more like Sony's, cause theirs is better".

Like I said, don't really care if I'm wrong.
I guess I should add that I meant head-to-head. With Wii U's headstart I don't doubt if it won't have more units sold overall, but once the XB1 and PS4 come out I can't see it being much more than an afterthought.
I don't believe that for all the vast money and unique resources that Microsoft could plug in to the console that they will just roll over and die.
They could do that but there's no way that they are missing Christmas. That would be admitting defeat. The problem with console launches is that they launch at the right time rather than when products are ready. They won't backtrack so they will have to make their product more attractive in other ways.
I'd like to see them cut the price for a start and keep games and accessories at a reasonable price. That would be the logical place to start right?
Which means EA, THQ and at least one other company who I can't think of right now will continue their status quo approach of Online Passes.
In short I know Microsoft took a battering but saying they have lost the war is insane. They have lost a key battle and are definitely on the back foot.

EA abandoned Online Passes. For all their games. Old games that once needed Online Passes no longer need them, and new ones won't.
I was hoping for something a but more ambitious along the lines of Galaxy or Sunshine, but I'm sure it won't be bad at all.
Are Nintendo doing more Directs this week? It's lovely seeing new Mario, MK, and Smash Bros, but I'm still eager to see what they're up to with their other franchises, since, as a Nintendo fan, I'm content with throwing my hard-earned cash at rehashes and sequels.
They seem to be playing it safe, so far.

Last year they announced some stuff in the weeks that followed. They don't treat E3 like the end-all, be-all anymore, and instead reveal stuff all year long. They did after all just announce a few months ago A Link Between Worlds (AKA Link To The Past 2) and Wind Waker HD).
But they did play it safe. Safe doesn't mean bad though.
Holy crap that video is amazing. I love that they put Wii Fit Trainer and Animal Crossing Guy in the game. They should represent all their major IPs, even the newer ones. And they need to add Nonspecific Action Figure too.

You shouldn't feel dirty. You most assuredly had an allegiance to a gaming company prior to 2001, correct? That means you switched once. Now you're switching back.
Oh, and Microsoft is trying to fuck their users over, so switching is more of a being smart thing then a being dirty thing.

I never got the allegiance thing. I mean, I took part in many schoolyard debates during the "Bit Wars" between Nintendo and Sega, but that was literally a grade school thing for me. And I understand brand loyalty, but gamers who swear by one console maker or one gaming platform only cheat themselves.
