Gamers unite -HQ

I dunno, it's cheaper than the PS3 was at launch and it's comparable to the top end 360 at launch too. I think it's not a competitive pricing but it's not the "hurr durr let's charge eleventy billion dollars for it" mentality that crippled the early days of the PS3, incidentally it's also $100 MORE than most predictions I saw from analysts before the actual announcement. Sony could become a BIG winner in the next few hours.

I'll be counting on you guys to fill this thread up with play-by-play commentary on all the announcements throughout the ps4 conference so i have stuff to look forward to when I get back from my exam. Make me proud.

We'll see the console (I hope).
Prices will be confirmed and it'll likely be cheaper than the XBOX 1.
New Killzone
Beyond: Two Souls
New God of War (?)
Gran Tourismo 6
Infamous 3
The Last of Us will feature heavily, possibly uncharted 4.

I'd wager no new IPs and very few exclusives. Which is a shame since Microsoft won out last generation because of both pricing and exclusives but there's still over an hour before go time so who knows

From the looks of it Sony just killed it.

th

As long as the system or a model thereof costs less than $500, they just sold themselves a PlayStation.

Unless I'm missing something here, Sony just announced PS3 game streaming via Gaikai, meaning backwards compatibility of sorts.

Mmm PS4 costs less than the XBoxOne too. This is turning into a massacre.

I wonder after the whooping Sony put on Microsoft today if this will encourage Microsoft to make some changes, or if they'll just be stubborn and keep pushing their crappy ideas.

The only "negative" about Sony's conference is that you need PS+ to play online multiplayer.

That's offset by offering a free PS4 retail game (DriveClub) on launch day (granted it is a "Playstation Plus edition"), along with PS4PSN games.

Sony just raped Microsoft. Big-time.

Eventually they may have to, but they can't do it right away, they can't show weakness immediately. Can't let the people know that you can be bullied into changing your policies (even if they're bullyish themselves).

My guess is at E3 2014 (if there is one) Microsoft will end the DRM stuff, unless it's somehow wildly successful.

Oh, and Nintendo never had that stuff by the way. Just to point that out. Everyone seems to forget that.

I'd be shocked if XBox One outsells the Wii U. There will always be a place for Nintendo in the gaming world because there will always be a new generation of gamers who have parents that grew up loving Nintendo games so they buy their kids Nintendo games. Those kids will grow up into the old generation of gamers that love the classic titles and characters Nintendo has given us, and eventually buy those games for their kids. They've created an amazing cycle of consumers, and they might know their audience better than any other company.

I just came back from the exam (did pretty well I think)

And it's 200GBP cheaper.

Is everyone really knocking Microsoft out so quickly. They have enough time to turn it around.

It's been a massacre so far though.
