You are just conditioned by Skyrim and its dragon-killing...

It's true. I was talking to NorCal about Witcher 2 the other day, and...

The final fight of the game is a boss battle against a dragon.
Witchers don't typically kill dragons, and Geralt is generally opposed to fighting it, but his hand is forced and you have to fight it.

It is easily more exciting than every dragon battle in Skyrim combined. It ends with you being able to choose whether to kill it or spare it, but as I remember,
it ends with you crashing the dragon into a jagged tree and impaling it.
Fucking. Epic.

I enjoyed all the dragon age games. I'm currently bouncing around from mass effect andromeda, res evil 7, Horizon and final fantasy 15.

Tempted to get the crash bandicoot game, but other than that I'm just waiting for Madden in Aug lol

So I now have a PS4 with Overwatch as my only game. There just isn't any games out right now that perk my interest so I'm waiting til Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: WWII. Most of my multiplayer games are on my XB1 such as Overwatch (again), Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1 and 4, and a ton more.

I'm debating whether to buy a Switch or PS4.

The PS4 problem includes whether to buy a Pro model plus new 4k TV. Or a pre-owned base model. A Switch is obviously more expensive but without the need to buy a TV.

And then the games....

I'd wait until Switch had a better library. Not worth it for two or three games. I scoffed at the system until I watched a person play Zelda and was impressed. PS4 by a mile. I'd even take Xbox One over Switch right now.

Right now I want it for MK, Zelda and Splatoon plus Pokémon next year.

I'm likely to get an Xbox on loan if my brother in law goes travelling. It doesn't hugely impress me enough to buy one.

I was late to the party, but I bought Breath of the Wild the second it is noticed it was available for wiiu. Absolute masterpiece, I can't say enough good things about it. I prefer video games as a multiplayer-social experience, but I'll always have a place in my heart for this franchise.

I for one have a Switch and very much enjoy it. BotW is of course fantastic, I enjoy the revamped battle mode and character additions in MK8D, and I dig ARMS. I have other games as well, 15 or 16 I think... And I'm pumped for the upcoming releases in Monster Hunter XX, Pokken Tournament DX, Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, the upcoming maincore Pokemon game, Yoshi, Kirby, Metroid Prime 4...
It's had a strong start, but I agree that by next year the library will really up the system sales.

It transpires that Shadow of Mordor is really rather good. Yes, it very much rips off Assassin's Creed and the Arkham games, but it does so really well, the nemesis system gives you both motivation and an interesting mix of opponents, and the story - while not exactly Tolkien tier - is surprisingly well acted (and even quite funny in spots).

Finally managed to finish the Witcher.

There are a couple of mis-steps in the storytelling - Adda going from ally to enemy to ally, the departure to Murky Waters (which broke me the first time I tried to playthrough), the lack of actual mention of the Grand Master until late on (and his plan made little sense), but once I returned from Murky Waters, I thoroughly enjoyed the battle through the streets of Vizima, Old and New. It actually gave a sense of chaos with pockets of fire and fighting all over the place. A few more dead bodies might have added to the scene though.

I will so though that I must have missed something in the story of Geralt, particularly with the King of the Wild Hunt. In fact, there are quite a few characters where the gamer seems to have to know who they are but have yet to meet them. It might fit in with Geralt's amnesia but it seemed off.

Just installing Assassins of Kings.

In a Pokemon group on facebook and I say how I'm going to buy yellow as it's on sale to which I'm immediately met by 10 posts of people giving me emulators/hacks.

Guys buy games.

Preach. If you emulate, that's cool, but do it legally. Sadly most emulation going about is illegal.

I bought a Switch. Tesco was selling neons for £260 and I couldn't see myself getting myself a better deal this side of Mario Odyssey, for which I would have inevitably got one. Unfortunately, adding in a pro controller, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a screen protector, a carry case, and Sonic Mania, even with a discount on each, this is my most expensive console purchase in a while.

It's crazy how expensive controllers are nowadays. Even PS4 and Xbone controllers are about £40

I remember paying about £30 for a second SNES Controller in 1994!

Ah mate jealous!

The sad thing is I really want 1-2-Switch - because HD rumble isn't a gimmick, it's a way of life - but I'm still equal parts baffled and annoyed that it isn't included in the box a la Wii Sports.

In a sniper fight vs Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V. Anyone have trouble with this guy? He's giving me fits.

1) It's a lady (this will soon become abundantly clear). 2) Barbosa is right:

Is that not the fight where you can order supply drops to fall on top of them?
