Gamers unite -HQ

Saw on the official Nintendo Amiibo page for the UK:

"I like the Pokemon amiibo, I nearly have them all. I just need Charizard, Pikachu, Greninja, Lucario and Jigglypuff. Mewtwo's a definite when it comes out". They're the only Pokemon ones released.

My first amiibo came today:

Trying to decide if I want to get all of the Pokemon, or save myself from the inevitability of owing 100.

You know what you have to do......

You wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To buy them is your real test
To train them is your cause

You will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Each Amiibo to understand
The power that's inside

Amiibo! it's you and he
You know it's your destiny,
Amiibo! Oh he's your best friend
In a world you must defend
Amiibo! a heart so true
Your courage will pull you through,

You teach him and he'll teach you,
Amiibo! gotta catch'em all!
Gotta catch'em all! AMIIBO!!

I will never understand the Amiboo craze. It's a stupid cash grab for physical DLC that can only be matched by those stupid Skylander dolls.

They..... Look..... Cool?

I've literally used my only Amiibo once in-game. I use it every day as a Link Figurine that looks pretty awesome.

It's taken me about 2 years or so but I have just ordered the Leaf Trophy from Club Nintendo which just appeared this week. That means I have all 6 of them.

They usually got for about £120 each on eBay. My mushroom one's not boxed. The others are.

I FUCKING HATE RIDDLER TROPHIES, 200 of the *****. The riddles and all the other stuff the riddler has in arkham knight is good but the fucking riddler trophies drive me fucking crazy. I'm just going to go watch the proper ending on youtube its not worth the fucking hassle.

I've completed all the Arkham games (well, I'm on my way with Arkham Knight) but I've never bothered with the Riddler shit. It's for a particular type of player and that just isn't me. I'll pick them up if I see them but I'm not hunting them down.

You know the Riddler trophies wouldn't be such a huge deal if they didn't feel like a lazy attempt at throwing more side shit to disguise how incredibly short the Arkham games are if you don't include the Riddler's tedious side-quests. I would be so much happier and might have enven attempted to 100% the game if there were at least 100 trophies instead of the 200+ you have to search for.

Thats how I had been with all the others but this time Rocksteady are all like "finish a couple of side quests to activate the ending" but then they give you a big middle finger and tell you to get 100% to see the REAL ending. And I had fuck all to do so I began and did all the riddles and then the riddler trophies were just fucked and they arent straight forward like arkham origins (which i did actually get them all but didnt do other side stories for some reason)

I don't know if it's more difficuly than previous games or whether I've lost some of my mojo playing complacent games but Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge has been kicking my ass way more than the other games.

Started playing Assassin's Creed III. Really liked the reveal at the end of the Kenway section of just who he was. I hadn't really picked up on the lack of mention of "Assassins" until Kenway's rather narrow-minded reaction to the Temple door.

Gameplay wise, it is as yet a step down from Ezio in Florence as at no stage were you encouraged/needed to really explore Boston as Kenway. Maybe that will be rectified with his son.

So far, it also suffers from the familiar problem of an open world/large levels with so much of area being of no use to the story or side quests. What is the point of a big wide section of New England forest when all there is to do is make your way to the pub?

Honestly the real issue with the Assassin's Creed games is that none of them will ever be as good as Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The series has done nothing but go down hill and became a cash grab and that's just depressing for an IP that used to have a lot of promise. Now it's just "Hey guise, like pirates?" or "Hey guise, this time we're in Steam Punk-ish England!" I'm gonna bet my left nut Ubisoft is trying to pitch the idea of having AC's in Feudal Japan with ninjas sooner or later.

They've all gone down hill from II. That game was brilliant especially with the long story that actually had a character that developed. Not saying brotherhood or revelations was bad but just II is brilliant.

This is is spot on. None of the others since we left Ezio have been good and I have to think a fair bit of it is levelled at the shit heap the modern day story has become, along with rather bland one dimensional characters. Ubisoft want to keep milking the franchise but somehow have not managed to continue the present day story that tied everything in.

The modern day shit is a) shit and b) not even used in the marketing of the game. It baffles me that they refuse to cut it out.

The pirate gameplay was surprisingly fun - I'll say that for Black Flag and, presumably, Rogue too.

Black Flag was objectively the best Assassins Creed. Gameplay was fun, felt comfy and there were moments that were far too emotional for an assassin's creed game.

Rogue has had the best story.

The whole Animus modern day framing mechanism really serves no purpose.

Given another go, I would say that Ubisoft might have removed it altogether and just used historical settings and characters, which tell the story of Assassins vs Templars anyway.

And as I have said before, I am not a big fan of the Predecessors.

Now that I have a bit of coin I might finally play rogue. Bullshit that Black Flag is the best one. It is shit. Crap character that they tried to develop and have a character ark so late in the story and so quickly that it was like 'I dont give a fuck you were a dick for no reason, be miserable and die'.
