Gamers unite -HQ

I don't understand how that could be the case - I appreciate the PC port is wonky but I don't see how they could have had a finished build three years prior to release. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

If you look past the BUILD_JULY_2012 part, it has a date of 18-06-2015, meaning the build was finalized June 18th. It's very likely the folder or file that was used simply was never renamed.

I don't seem to trade wins and losses on Splatoon - I go on long streaks of being either an unbeatable god or the gaming world's best enhancement talent. Peculiar.

I'm like that with most games.

I'm replaying Metal Gear Solid 4 as part of my hype train ride to The Phantom Pain and Jesus Christ is this game good, better than when I played it the first time even since I actually understand the Metal Gear series and how to fucking play right. And I adored this game when I first played it, it was one of the first I played. Truly a marvel of blending cinema and gaming really. The "Bang! Bang!" cutscene is still one of my all-time favorite cutscenes.

Next up I have Peace Walker and Ghost Babel and then it's off to replay Ground Zeroes and I'll be set.

I also started Life Is Strange. It's all right so far, neat mechanics, interesting enough world that I'm looking forward to exploring, dialogue's a bit messy and poorly-paced and the voice acting's hit or miss. I'll get through the first episode and give a proper report.

I can't be dealing with all those cutscenes, though I've played large chunks of the first three Metal Gear Solid games. Sorry, Kojima - maybe go make a film instead of *********ing in front of me for forty-five minutes at a time.

Just got Yoshi's Wooly world and it's so cute. I argue the same as I did with Kirby's Epic Yarn: There's a place in video games for really easy games that are there just to waste time.

Yoshi's Wooly World is on my list. After finishing Arkham Origins and maybe some ZombiU, I will be in need of something a bit more cheery.

I've already noticed that Wooly World has generated a batch of knitted Mario toys.

Still need to play origins, just started City last week, pretty enjoyable.

Rare Replay is only £20 for xBox one. The fact it's not on a Nintendo console makes me sad.

I didn't realise the Rare Replay had more recent stuff, i.e. Nuts & Bolts, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, Viva Piñata, in it. I'm not sure I could ever bear to play Battletoads again. This Xbone is wasted on me.

Pretty much most Rare games aside from Nintendo licenses and the DS games.

Do an Europeans have any Club Nintendo points knocking about they'd like to donate?

Completed the Enigma data packs and got into the locked room only for nothing to happen except getting a Riddler trophy. Disappointing indeed.

Could easily have had some showdown with Edward Nigma; Batman defeats and captures him only for him to mention something about becoming something new and giving Batman a riddle that leads him to search the hideout and then find the Riddler trophy.

One of the many games I put over ten plus hours into and never finished, though I'll admit I did enjoy my time with it very much.

Mass Effect 2 is a fucking gem. I think it might be my favorite Mass Effect actually.

Not only is it my favorite Mass Effect game, it's my favorite game of all time. The characters are just amazing, and the explorability of the galaxy is the best of the three games. I give Mass Effect 3 the edge in plot and game play (and their multiplayer is pretty fun too), but Mass Effect 2 is the signature game for the series if you ask me.

Both of them are excellent games, but I'd say Mass Effect 3 is my favourite out of the series. Yes, the ending is dreadful, but everything else is fantastic.

Nowadays, I've been playing a massive amount of Civilization 5, absolutely wonderful strategy game that might dethrone Red Alert 2 from its title of my favourite strategy game.

I disagree with calling the ending of ME3 dreadful. The whole game was comprised of endings for various characters and story lines with one big ending for the main story line, but people apparently wanted one big ending that incorporated every single decision they made in the game. That's simply not realistic in terms of technology or storytelling.

You know, last winter (as in winter of 2013-2014) I put in some SERIOUS time on Civ 5, but since then it's kind of lost its appeal. It's just so long, and it feels like you can't really accomplish much (in terms of achieving victory) until at least the Industrial Revolution. Now I'm not discounting that as a flaw in the game play (you could make a pretty good comparison to chess: the first several thousand years are setting up your pieces while the industrial revolution on forward is when you put your plans into motion), I'm simply saying I prefer strategy games where there can be serious gains made in the early game.

I've been playing a lot of CK2 lately, which while certainly not as out and out "fun" as Civ 5, it's certainly more of a brain teaser in my book, and the ability to create a story in it is second to none. I started my most recent game as the King of Leon, and now I am an Emperor controlling all of Spain and Britannia, and major land holdings in North and West Africa, France, Italy, and the Middle East. Acquiring all that territory while keeping my vassals happy and converting the infidels and heretics has been no easy task, but damn has it been satisfying.
