Gamers unite -HQ

If you liked the gunplay in Titanfall but disliked the Mechs, this might be the game for you. The single-player was actually a lot of fun, but I am not a real big fan of the multiplayer in the game. Then again, I don't like to be reminded that a bunch of 10 years ran a train on my mother.

That's the thing, I'd only buy it for the multiplayer (since a few of my friends have it too), I only got a PS4 not long ago and I don't have a FPS. It's either this or Destiny.

I'm not that huge on Destiny either, if I'm being honest. Then again I'm one of the few who don't enjoy the Call of Duty formula multiplayer anymore.

Ubisoft fucked up assassin's creed with the direction they took with 3. The modern day stuff was brilliant but
killing Desmond off was completely the wrong move
Since that they have had no idea where to take the modern day story, at least in terms of protagonist(though i feel it is much more than just protagonist.

They've also struggled to create an assassin that people can feel invested in. Ezio was such an amazing character and it is why Ubisoft were able to milk three games out of him, even though Revelations was one of the worst games in the series and probably the most unnecessary as well. I believe this is because we are thrown into the deep end of the assassin world too quickly.
I've barely played Unity for two hours and already I'm to set off and kill the Grand Templar(obviously that'll take some time to get to
What made Ezio such a great character was how his life was firmly established beforehand. The past two games(Unity and Black Flag) have basically thrown us straight into, you can literally run on rooftops with Arno from the first real mission you do with him.

TL;DR: I feel that Assassin's creed is dying a slow terrible death as Ubisoft dont know where the game is heading and havent created character's the player can get behind since ezio as they have the narrative's pacing running at a sprint and not a marathon.

I didn't like Assassins Creed 2, and people tell me it's the best in the series so I'm definitely not putting any money on another game (if it's free then it's a different story of course huehuehue)

It just kind of felt like a giant fuck you to the player since you're essentially ending the previous game and starting the next. in 2 you finish the main story part of 1 at the very start, where you escape from the facility and get told you have to find out some new info by looking into another guy's past. Then you play the mini story of Ezio (who i hated) for a while, playing nothing related to the actual plot of the series, before finishing the game with an ad for the next game. It's as if I was playing the Oregon trail, but between every location there was a fancy flashback to one of the character's traumatising wars in Venice.

The masterchief collection came out the other day, giving me a grand total of 1 reason to buy an Xbone. It's one fucking tempting reason though... Anyone know if halo 4 with 4 player split screen still makes the system poop it's pants?

Ubisoft definitely fucked up on this years Assassin's Creed.... Come on now you've had Watch Dogs on the same engine to learn from and you didn't learn from those mistakes? This tells me you either got too big for your 1B dollar a year corporation, or you just don't really give a shit.

Assassin's Creed was interesting with a good story but the gameplay was irritatingly repetitive.

AC2 was much better with far more variety, but I really hated the big reveal at the end. Spoiled the whole story for me, so much so that I have yet to play any further instalments, even though I have AC3 for the WiiU.

I gotta agree. AC 3 onwards this game franchise has suffered so much so that one of my friends has vowed not to touch another AC game.

Anyone here got his hands on FIFA 15? Mine is still downloading, but what I've played so far looks really promising. Being a PC gamer, this would be the first I'll see of the Ignite engine.

I'm not sure what you mean by this at all. 2 starts pretty much where one finishes there is no overlap from memory, outside of the recap at the start. Also he's going back in time to train its called the bleeding effect, its a side effect of using an animus, and thus the assassin's can actually fight the templars in the modern day.And I dont really understand by what you mean by an ad for the next game either?

By big reveal do you mean Ezio going into the tunnel or whatever they were calling it?

I absolutely despise the modern day, science fiction framing device shit. Even if it weren't incredibly convoluted and full of irritating characters, it's entirely unnecessary. The game is advertised as a historical parkour simulator, the other stuff isn't marketed at all, yet I've got to sit through at least two hours of boring, pace-breaking sci-fi garbage in every game. At best, it could be described as an elaborate in-universe reason for not stabbing civilians.

Unfortunately, the series has even bigger problems now: namely Ubisoft shoehorning microtransactions into a full-price game... and the very same game being a technical mess.

The pirate stuff was fun though.

Bought Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Really, really impressed, I'm not usually a Call of Duty fan but this one feels different, almost a bit like Halo with the high tech suit and abilities. Would recommend if looking for a FPS.

What I meant was that nothing significant to the plot happens between the first 15 minutes and the last Ezio cutscene, while all that last cutscene with Ezio did was tell you that there's a bunch of crap going on... And then the game finishes. That's like if you were playing FF7 and Sephiroth came down from the sky, stabbed Aeris, then winked at the camera while the credits rolled. I know there's got to be some form of "wait until you see what happens next" when you get into a series that is supposedly going to be 10+ parts, but when you play it and the parts are little fragments of usual parts, held together by a ton of padding it feels like I'm being screwed.

Well can you give me an example of a significant thing that happens in the actual series' plot from the time you're told to become an assassin through Ezio until you get to the end of the game?

Well it's all relative to the individual, seeing that you don't really count everything that happens inside the Animus

I'd say the part where Desmond comes under the influence of the bleeding effect. This is significant as it shows that work in the animus is working but at what cost? Also everything that happens in the animus is significant as its leading the desmond and the rest of the assassins to where they need to go.

So the Halo Masterchief addition is boss as fuck. If you grew up playing the Halo games and easily get nostalgia trips than this is the game for you. On a sad note, the Multiplayer matchmaking is in shambles with bugs so I won't pick it up right now if you're a Multiplayer junkie.

I will concede that part, completely forgot about that. The next bit you said though was pretty much what I was trying to say screwed me over, since you are trying to look for a direction for Desmond and pals to go the entire time (it's the plot of the game isn't it?) but you don't find anything at all useful or relevant until the very end, which feels like a massive cop out story wise.

The series would be a lot better if they just cut out all the stupid real world stuff and focused on the dicking around in history stuff. The games wouldn't even need to connect in any way unless they used the same main character. Like Sam said, it's absolutely unnecessary to even have the real world stuff since I'm pretty sure there's no one out there whose desire to find out all of the secret hidden truths of the real world stuff is greater than their enjoyment of jumping off historical buildings and stabbing a dude in the throat.

Test the halo 4 split screen if you can pls.
