I would like to see Xenoblade on a handheld. Good game though I never finished it.

Anyone else getting Hyrule Warriors this week?

What? Well how far did you get? It's long but you need to get to see all the crazy plot twists dude!

Also for new 3DS I hope they improve the sound quality. It's one of the few really bad things about the 3DS as it stands.

I got up to a bit where I had to grind then I couldn't be bothered as Skyward Sword came out.

I have finally caught up to Lee and Sam, you lucky chaps, and played the Smash Bros demo today.

It is very good. Fighters on handhelds are not often done but it works just fine. I was worried about the size of the screen but actually, that's totally fine as well.

Here's what has really actually impressed me though: the 3D. There are some games that look damn awful with the 3D on. Now I usually play with the 3D right off, as it annoys my eyes and I worry it'll damage them, in addition to distracting me from the game. In Smash, the 3D effect is subtle and feels gentle on the eyes. It also enhances the look of the game, especially given that the game is played on a 2D plane, rather than just feeling like a pasted-on gimmick.

I doubt I'll play the demo much more before release, I've tried all the characters and there's only the one stage so really I'm waiting to play as Shulky boy and Robin.

Excited for the full game in two weeks.

I'm off to EGX, the videogame expo, at Earl's Court today and will be desperately looking for a reason not to return the PS4 I bought this week.

Destiny, for someone whose favourite series is probably Halo and who worships Bungie's every step, is hugely underwhelming. It's like Bungie has been refusing to give in to all of the modern FPS's irritating tendencies all these years and then decided to indulge every single one of them in one fell swoop. Iron sights, loot, classes, leveling up. There was a slight shift at Halo: Reach; this is just an avalanche. The elegance of Bungie's design has gone in favour of just chucking a whole bunch of shit at a wall and hoping something will stick. They're copying the designs of others and doing it worse. In a world where Borderlands chucks you a totally unique gun every five minutes, how is it accaptable to give me "Ooh, a slightly more powerful pistol - that looks just like your old one" after an hour? Halo presented you with a sandbox and everything with which to enjoy it (here's a problem, solve it). Destiny presents you with a sandbox but refuses to give you the toys with which to play with until you've walked around in it for long enough (here's a problem, fiddle about with these arbitrary options until you can just bruteforce it). The battles aren't totally unengaging - the enemy AI varies from lobotomy-stupid to tack-sharp - but the variety is definitely wanting. I was expecting it to justify a £330 purchase and it's barely justifying a £40 one.

Candidates to keep the dream alive are Alien: Isolation, playable on the floor, and Assassin's Creed: Unity, also playable on the floor, but there's nothing stopping me from sending my PS4 back and diving back into next gen at a later date.

Frankly, Nintendo's line-up has me the most excited at the moment - by quite a margin.

THe main reason I didn't buy a PS4 is because of the lack of games. I bought a Wii U and it is easily my favorite system by a WIDE margin. So many great games right now, and Smash is coming.

Nintendo proves time and again that the graphical firepower is not what makes a game console good, it's the gameplay. Spectacular gameplay and games make the system great.

I'm buying a PS4 when WWE 2k15 comes, And kinda like my PS3 it'll be my system for the annual update titles like WWE, MLB, and Madden. Ironically games that a lot of people will likely complain about every year.

Fittingly, Splatoon is currently my game of the show - i.e. I'm going tomorrow and it could change. When it comes to elegant design, Nintendo is always king.

Alien: Isolation is close but the alien was all over me and kind of... ruined my good times. Fucker walked out of the room and then was all "Hang on, they were in there, weren't they?" and came back in to eat my face. Bullshit.

The new Lord of the Rings game - Shadow of Mordor or some shit - is dreadful. Like a bad Assassin's Creed.

And I can confirm that the new WWE is, to the dismay of many, the same game with a new coat of paint. Wonky as ever. None of the playable characters in the demo (Cena, Orton, Cesaro, Goldust) have long hair either, making me think hair probably looks as bad as ever.

Man I've been enjoying the hell out of Smash Bros on my 3DS since I got off work.

Lot of content for solo play, as well as multi play. The customized characters are fun to play around with as well. I didn't see it, but I wish the Mii Fighters could change/upgrade weapons rather than just equipment. Overall it's got me hooked though.

You fucking bastard.

I was actually going to buy a PS4 next week, with the intention of getting Destiny (and NBA 2K15). I was also a huge fan of the Halo series, mainly Halo 3 and Reach. While I've heard Destiny is a bit overrated, I'm not quite sure it's the shitbox you're making it out to be... has anybody else got this game? In desperate need of a shooter, I might have to wait for bloody COD.

The story's also shit but apparently I live in a world where people think Halo's story was actually good (granted, it got even more baffling and impenetrable after Bungie left) and so that's a surprise for some reason.

The Master Chief Collection (i.e. Combat Evolved, 2, 3 and, ugh, 4 in new clothes) is coming to Xbone soon. I'd have sooner they remade ODST and/or Reach than 4 but what're you gonna do?

Edit: To make a correction - Assassin's Creed Unity wasn't playable at EGX, though I thought it was. Considering how close it is to release, that does worry me, even if I have to admit it still looks incredible; like Assassin's Creed is finally fulfilling its full potential.

My brother bought a Wii U earlier this year and I'll be buying Bayonetta 1+2 for it. SO excited. I've never played Bayonetta but my friends love it, and the reviews for Bayonetta 2 are all great. Can't wait.

Speaking of great games, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is fan-fucking-tastic. Fixed every problem I had with the original Persona 4 Arena (tiny roster, bad story, bad writing) and it's been eating away at my time bit by bit. Tons of fun, tons of content.

So who's the PS4 expert here or has an extensive knowledge of things all related to the gamer world? Shoot me a PM. Would like to pick your brain about stuff :p

So to add to what I was saying, the fact that they nuked the PC optimization on Watch Dogs to fit in with the consoles as well as making you buy the last gen assassin's creed to tie into the next gen assassin's creed is something EA would do.

Anyone got the latest Call of Duty? I'm probably one of the only people that never really got into the series but the new one looks worth a purchase.

If you liked the gunplay in Titanfall but disliked the Mechs, this might be the game for you. The single-player was actually a lot of fun, but I am not a real big fan of the multiplayer in the game. Then again, I don't like to be reminded that a bunch of 10 years ran a train on my mother.

Oh and the Masterchief Collection comes out tonight. three of my favorite childhood games for one price on the Xbone? Fuck yes.
