WRESTLER’S REVIEW
Dolph Ziggler, 32 years old, current World Heavyweight Money In The Bank holder, which means he has a contract to challenge the World Heavyweight Champion anytime, anywhere. Ziggler is also known as “The Ultimate Show-Off” thanks to his ability to happily brag about himself. His opponent – Chris Jericho – multi-time World Champion, both in WWE and WCW. He is the lead singer for his band “Fozzy” and he is quite known for his speaking ability, some fans may consider him one of the best ever in promotional interviews. Nowadays he is 42 years of age, and he is on the losing side of six pay-per-views in a row.
BEGINNING - ROAD TO SUMMERSLAM
The one thousand episode of Monday Night RAW was shocking from top to bottom, but what people least expected was the confrontation between Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler. One week away from the MITB PPV, where Dolph Ziggler came victorious in his match and Jericho in the losing side of his own, we saw Ziggler take Jericho’s presence on the wrong way and he accused him of trying to steal his spotlight. A little bit later he was telling Y2J that he thinks that he lost his touch, and that he can’t win the big one anymore. That sparked Jericho, and he ended the segment by nailing a perfect CODEBREAKER.
Chris Jericho didn’t go down by Ziggler’s accusations. Instead he had a new adventure, a new path: proving that he still has it and that he can win the big one. Both of them has been giving everything they can to make SmackDown and RAW their show. Ziggler assaulted Jericho twice in the same week. The first time on RAW after a tag team match that him and Miz lost, and the second time on Friday’s SmackDown after a very entertaining Highlight Reel. However, “The Show Off” got distracted and on RAW he lost to Alex Riley, which was the funniest moment of Jericho’s day we might add.
One week before Summer Biggest Event, and with a match already scheduled to happen at SummerSlam, Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler (and The Miz) were guests on Piper’s Pit and they ended up fighting in a Triple Threat Match, a match that Ziggler went over by pinning “The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla”, but the week promised to be worst to Jericho. On SmackDown him and Alberto Del Rio were main-eventing the show, if it wasn’t for the backstage assault from the current WHC MITB Holder, an assault that really injured Jericho. By pure pride, Jericho tried to battle the Mexican, but that proved to be a mistake. Alberto Del Rio punished Jericho and won the match thanks to once again to Dolph Ziggler. Jericho is heading to this Sunday PPV with an arm and skull injury. Is he going to defeat the show-off? Follow the rivalry!!
OCC: I'm going to build this rivalry my way, and only that rivalry. I can also give some notes about other interesting topics that may be happening in the mean time.
