Eminem named Artist of the Decade

Eminem has been named artist of the decade by US music magazine Billboard.

He is ranked as the best performing act between 4 December 1999 and 28 November 2009 with hits including his debut My Name Is and Lose Yourself.

In total, he has had 28 entries on US chart the Hot 100 since 1999.

This made him automatically Billboard's male artist of the decade, while the female honour went to Beyonce. Nickelback were named top group.

;)

Eminem, I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Mark Henry's rap was the best musical performance OF ALL TIME!

Eh...I dunno. Eminem is great, one of my favorites. But artist of the decade?

At any rate, I don't trust US Billboard if they named Nickelback group of the decade. More like massive waste of shit on my radio of the century. Nickelback is shitty, smelly, runny, shitty shit. You can quote me on that.

The Eminem Show was his last good album.

They shouldn't have let him win this. This will only encourage him to continue to produce shit music!

Yeah, that's bullshit. Relapse was more than decent. Eminem is good, great even. Not "Artist of teh Decade" though, I'm afraid. Though I'm sure Xfear can reassure me if he is.

X will claim Nas is the Artist of the Decade at least hip hop wise.

To all of you complaining about Nickelback, kindly shut the fuck up. While I hate their untalented asses as much as anyone, no other band has been as successful as they have in the United States. You can't deny that. Of the 11 songs on the "All the Right Reasons" album (and yes, I did have to look that up), 7 of them were released as singles, with 5 of them reaching a Top 5 position on a US chart, and all of them reaching the Top 10.

As much as any decent human being hates them, you can't deny what they did.

Well that's laughable. Eminem wasn't even the best rapper of this decade.

We're just lamenting over the fact that so many people enjoy such terrible music.

Nah. The 90s, sure, but not this decade. Hip hop wise? Shit, that's a tough one, you're going to have to give me a few minutes, but I know it sure as fuck isn't Eminem. As much as I'm not a fan of Kanye's current work, he'd have an argument, he was all over the fucking place this passing decade. Talent wise would be hard as fuck to decide on. I might just go with a veteran like Raekwon or something.

Nickelback were named top group.

Any credibility this announcement had disappeared with the above statement.

I think we do need to have this discussion. I'm not sure you could go with Raekwon in this regard. Speaking of which, we never did our 2000-2009 decade thing in the hip hop thread. This may need to be done at some point in the very very near future.

Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, and Eminem Show all came out in the last decade. I'll take those three albums against any other rappers 3 from this decade.

Um.. pretty sure they would be going by record sales. Eminem would be far and away artist of the year. Same with Nickelback. Why isn't anyone bitching about Beyonce though? You can say what you want about Nickelbeck and Eminem, but at least they write their own damn music.

Umm, who gives a fuck if Beyonce dont write her own music, Nate? Shes still talented and sexy.

Completely beside the point. If the category was "Sexy woman who's ass I would love to stick my tongue in," Beyonce should win. But musically, she is horrible.
