Domestic football - spam version

How united didnt score in that first half i'll never know. Van Persie could have had 2 or 3, Falcao another, Ashley Young even had one going into the top right corner and then when the ball finally gets passed Llorris by the length of a bee's dick Jones is offside. A game that should have been at least 3-0 at half time finished 0-0

One thing I notice with you is how many times you say "this could have happened". It didn't. That's not how football works.

Thats what everyone says. Its "we should punishing them this" or "they deserved a point" that. Half of the analysis of a game will point out that if a side took their chances they'd be x amount of goals up. Which is all I was saying. Robin van Persie had 3 genuine chances in the first half that on another day he would have scored.

Also Popovic again being linked to the Palace job over here, the mirror have him as the front runner over there as well.

The Mirror over here have Pardew as the front runner. Every paper over here has Pardew as favourite.

My point was more that Popovic was legitimately in the conversation this time as oppossed to last time where the australian media hyped it up massively and someone on here, i'm pretty sure it was you Lee, said there was stuff all over in England.

Dont know why Palace would want Pardew/ why pardew would want to go(outside of him managing & playing there previously). From Pardew's pov the club seems abit unstable and is in a relegation battle. While from Palace's pov Pardew isnt popular with his current fans and will be expensive especially when you consider he hasnt got a get-out clause(according to Ashley)

Meanwhile the two clubs have apparently settled on compensation

Pardew will get paid more at Palace than Newcastle. He's on a really basic deal at the Toon, his contract is based on wins rather than a high annual wage.

Pardew to Palace is one deal where I think everyone is a winner. Newcastle get rid, Palace get a manager who's lot is probably above theirs and Pardew gets a set of fans who love him and gets to live at home.

It's upheaval for Newcastle, but they're a big club and should be able to attract a decent manager. People are talking McLaren, which probably wouldn't be a bad shout. This had Moyes all over it before he took the Spanish job. Pulls has probably earned his chance at this level, but I'm not sure his style will go down well there - Fat Sam's certainly didn't. I think Pulis will go to Everton, because Roberto Martinez's flukey FA Cup fuel is running out and the Everton fans have turned on him.

Some of the players we have. Imagine they were played right. Sissoko's been immense this season because he's played in his position. WHY? Because the French team did at the world cup.

Some of the pardew quotes from the past. Including saying Southampton has a better academy because their players are middle class.

The media seem to be going on like we've sacked Pardew.

He's had Newcastle's biggest number of defeats in a row, lowest goal difference, worst derby record among all sorts of disciplinary problems. Yet he's walked. Quit. But we're deluded. Yup.

Popovic is all Australian media talk. Why would Palace hire him? I'm a big fan but it would make no sense. He has no genuine experience. Just media chat.

Pardew has a tonne of reasons to go to Palace.

Lee - who do you want as Toon manager? Sherwood is looking for work...

I'd think someone continental would work quite well with the set up the club has. Would be ideal for the crop of players.

I don't care who it is as long as he doesn't blame everyone but himself and is passionate about the club and fans.

This season under Pardew we've not scored in the league in the opening 30 minutes. Today, without Pardew, we've scored two.

Three if you include the OG. The shackles are off and the boys are going mad!

Oh aye and mon the Dons. If we win against St Johnstone then we go a point ahead of Celtic.

Fuck sake Alnwick. The quicker one of the other keepers come back the better.

You don't like people who support teams other than the one geographically closest to where they were born, we get it, it gets very tiresome and you come across as a massive prick.

Now onto something that is actually new conversation - Stevie G is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

That's massive news really.

It was a mackem who pointed this out to me: Lampard was allowed to extend his loan period outside of the transfer window but Newcastle can't sign a keeper on loan outside of the window despite needing a bloody keeper.

yeah that's why I meant by extended it. He can't start a new one as the transfer window opens on the 3rd. They got special dispensation because they're Man City.
