Domestic football - spam version

My brother was definitely a glory hunter, he kept switching teams before finally settling on Man United a few minutes before they won the treble. I wonder if he'll switch up again soon.

If you're not from the area, then yeah.

Barbosa is a few years older than me. He may have caught the arse end of the glory years, but I imagine that during the most formative part of his life he would have been watching Graeme Souness sign people like Paul Stewart and Torben Piecknick and guiding us to finishing below QPR and Norwich in the league. GLORY.

I'd love you to find these spiteful, toxic comments online that I can't find as quickly from Man United, Newcastle or Arsenal fans (they're the only two clubs with a fan base even remotely similar to Liverpool at the moment). A lot of people support Liverpool, some of them are morons, but that's true of all major clubs.

Liverpool fans are generally well regarded and if you ask several players they often say Anfield and Villa Park are their favourite away grounds. Liverpool regularly applaud good play. I can't believe I'm having this conversation with a Spurs fan. When Toure got injured at the weekend, he got a warm applause from the whole stadium. When England international Theo Walcott's season was ended by injury in January, the Spurs fans booed him off.

I've been to a game at Upton Park (Uncle from the East End) where I sat next to Liverpool fans. Lovely people. You and him supported Liverpool for one reason only. They were actual fans. I'm talking about the toxic fans online. I'm not doing it for you. Go look up articles about Liverpool transfer targets from the past 3 or so years. You'll find them there.

Wow. Using Walcott as some kind of enlightened argument. He's from ARSENAL, our biggest rival and they only booed once he taunted them. Some morons threw coins and stuff, but he was protected by the Spurs guys carrying him if I recall correctly.

Some of the smartest guys on the forum (& me) debating this with a Spurs supporter from Australia.

That's ironic right?

They're so smart - being on a wrestling forum.

So what if I moved to Australia? I'm actually from North London.

You're such a hypocrite.

And I'm not from Devon but that doesn't stop your pre-judgement, going by your rep comment.

You need to look at your own opinion before calling hypocrisy.

I never get the whole 'you have to be from the area to support the team'. I know tons of students who have come to Newcastle and fallen in love with the club and are now Newcastle fans including a number from Toronto.

Nobody could pick a worst time to fall in love with a club at the top than me. Blackburn was at the top when I started watching football. Followed them for years even after the first relegation until the Venkys era. Ahh if only I started watching football a year or two later. I would be the classic glory hunting Man U fan. :lmao:

Was too painful to follow after one blunder after another. Now I just start following games with ex-players from Blackburn that I remember whenever possible. Too hard to switch allegiance to another club after so many years following one club.

Yeah you're an idiot. I'm a huge Liverpool fan, bigger than anyone I know. Simply because it was ingrained in my head in childhood. I'm as invested in their fortunes as any Scouser.

You're just wrong.

I should point out my child self started watching in the Souness era. I don't remember watching them win the league and I first went to Anfield in 1992.
This is a post of mine from ages ago.
Where are you from then?

Sussex originally. I've had family who lived in Yorkshire but my grandfather was from Lancashire. My grandpa and my uncle were season ticket holders when they passed away in the 90's.

I can't count how many times I've seen them play, home and away. I've tried to get up there but it's just too expensive and difficult to get tickets. I'm trying to get tickets for the Palace match soon as I'm in Sussex then.

I simply don't know why we have to defend our position when it seems like you are in the same position.

1Peep, you do realise there will be hundreds of thousands of Spurs fans not from North London. I'm sure there are many who should support Leyton Orient but Spurs are a bigger club, so they don't. These people are helping Tottenham to become a bigger club.

I know. But we're not one of the big clubs. If you're not from North London, you're not really supporting us for the glory are you.

There are over 100 professional teams in the UK. Tottenham are maybe top 10 in terms of stature, trophies won etc. Tottenham ARE a big team and there will be plenty of people who support them for that reason only.

Back to talking important things, I reckon City win the league. They should win all their remaining games and Liverpool would need to beat Chelsea - which I can't see happening.

Since I was born I guess - my family have always been Spurs fans.

Yes, I do realise we are a big club in that sense but only in the past several years have we even pushed for CL football - earning it exactly once. We last won the league in the 60's. We were a mid table team at best growing up. Not many people hop on the Spurs bandwagon - at least not compared to the top 5 clubs in England.

Liverpool have got their harder games at home, which gives them a very small advantage in that respect. But at the end of the day, I think Chelsea are the only team that match Liverpool in the odds in their final matches, barring an upset from the other 3 teams.

If we didn't have Chelsea to play then I'd be confident. As it is, I'm worried but the attack right now can blow anyone away.

The key will be scoring early and defending brilliantly.

I think it's just too hard to predict. I thought City were going to pull it out since the start of the season and stuck with that, but being beaten by Liverpool was huge. The thing was going into that match, you had no idea what was going to happen - either team could have just thumped the other. I've got no clue who's going to win it now. It's up to Chelsea now to try and stop Liverpool - a hard ask particularly at Anfield.

Citeh has more games to win. Liverpool has the best schedule. Chelsea is distracted by Europe.

Liverpool are favourites imo.

In purely odds terms, Liverpool are now the favourites but that does not really mean much when it is still so tight and two of the challengers still have to play each other. Jose is more than capable of getting a result at Anfield, while Norwich and Palace will have something to play for when they play Liverpool and Newcastle could be a wild card.
