If we play like that against Wigan. I can sense them weeping now!

Was Gareth Bale actually playing? And to think someone mentioned him in the same sentence as Messi... consistently inconsistent. 5 good performances in 3 years is no use.

He was terrible mate, absolutely terrible. Parker and Modric were non existent either. Anytime Bale lost the ball he claimed a foul.

The amount of bumming he has received for that performance against Inter is ridiculous but can you imagine how bad it would be if he were English? The media would not be able to handle it. Modric is equally as hit and miss. One week he is great and the next he looks disinterested and gets brushed off the ball by even the lightest of breezes.

Parker I have a bit more sympathy for because playing alongside the likes of Modric, who is hardly the most hard-working of midfielders going backwards, he can get drastically outnumbered and overrun like today. Having said that, I still thought he played okay.

Did anyone else get Deja Vú of seeing Cantona when Van Persie hit the post from that chipped shot?

Anyway, I really don't think anyone can say that Suarez and van Persie are the most in-form strikers, at the moment. Now, watch Ming chime in and make a case for Torres.

He played better than his last performance at SJP.

Probably not saying much. He did beat Liverpool all by himself last year at Upton Park, although again that is not saying much.

Apparently Suarez racially abused Evra yesterday. Frankly I would not be surprised for as good as Suarez is (not many better in the league so far), he is a complete bastard. Let us not forget that he arrived at Liverpool on the back of not just his celebrating of Gyan's penalty miss in South Africa but also after serving a domestic ban in the Netherlands for biting...

Although while I do not condone such abuse, I do find someone of Suarez's Latin/Amerindian extraction using race as an insult somewhat amusing considering racism is something usually associated with and employed by the majority to oppress a minority.

Also I loved Ba's celebration today. He knew it was in, the crowd knew it was in, Friedel knew it was in yet he waited for the whistle to blow before he did his bow.

I've just watched a bit of Kansas vs NY Red Bulls. And, I have to say, it mildly impressed me. The quality of football is ok and not as bad as what I thought it would be. The following is surprisingly good, as well. I thought the Yanks couldn't give fuck about ''soccer'' but the stadium looked like a 30,000 seater and it was sold out. Thierry Henry got a red card for accidentally clashing into a player, which made me cringe. When Kansas scored the crowd went mad and like they shot confetti and everything which was cool. From what I've seen, I'd put it on par with the Italian league on how I enjoyed.

So I hope those fuckers will shut up about us 'playing no one yet'.

"It wasn't a good save, it was a poor finish" Wojech Szceszny has just guaranteed a kicking of Cattermole in the return match.

Great quote by Steve 'Agent51' Bruce in the People:

“But let’s not get above our station here. We’re Sunderland.”

On the whole Suarez/Evra situation i seem to remember Evra accusing Steve Finnan of the same thing back in 2006 and Finnan was proven innocent and cleared. Evra also accused a Chelsea groundsman of doing the same. Besides Suarez can't even speak English.
I'm still waiting for the FA's investigation but if Suarez is proven innocent then Evra will need to take a long hard look at himself and get his act together.

Arsenal Same outcome as last season
mackems Win this season, draw last +2pts.
Fulham Win this season, draw last +2pts.
QPR No game last season
Aston Villa Drew this season, beaten last season +1pts.
Blackburn Won this season, beaten last season +3pts.
Wolves Won this season, drew last season +2pts.
Spurs Drew last season, drew this season.

That's a 10 point increase on like for like games last season.

We're on 16 points out of a possible 24.

Out of the first 8 games last season we were already beaten 4 times, this season we remain one of only three clubs in the PL to be undefeated.

This time last season we were 13th with 8 points.

Incidentally 16 points at the same stage last season would have had you at 2nd in the league behind Arsenal who were on 19pts.

Not bad at all.

Before you go down the whole 'boy who cried wolf' path, the fans accused Finnan of racism in 2006, and in 2008 I believe that it was more the United backroom staff and substitutes (Mike Phelan and John O'Shea spring to mind) than Evra.

The fuck, apparently the foreign owners want to vote against relegation happening in the Premier league.

Neh apparently it's all the Americans.

I wonder if that's maybe them taking inspiration from the NFL?

Was glad to see Sir Alex shoot the idea down even though United are American owned. The past few seasons have arguably been made more exciting by the 'no fear' approach from the promoted clubs like Hull, Burnley, Blackpool, Norwich and Swansea. While the first 3 couldn't maintain their starts, they each got some impressive results against big teams and perhaps gave more teams think they had a chance against bigger teams.

(Lee, I didn't include Newcastle due to them being more organised and not as crazily swash-buckling as the others.)
