Domestic football - spam version

Fair play to Suarez, he's clearly making an effort to speak English, and doing an interview on his own isn't easy. Compare that to the likes of Tevez, who've been here five years and have never even tried.

There was a poster a couple of years ago that kinda fuelled the fire of the Manchester divide as it were -

The guy in the poster, Tevez, used to play for United then when they wouldn't sign him permanently after a 2 year loan, he moved to Man City who had recently been bought over by a Middle-Eastern group with a fuckton of monies.
The poster was having a dig at Man United's ground not being in Manchester itself, but rather just outside the city,
"The poster, situated on the edge of the city boundary next to Salford and the Borough of Trafford, the area in which the United ground is situated, plays on the fact that many City supporters claim sole rights to supporting a club from Manchester proper."

Mind you, United have massive support in the Far and Middle East with plans to expand further too, so in some ways it's not too big a deal as they are making a lot of income from various places outside of Manchester/UK/Europe!

Also, haven't a lot of American football teams relocated/changed names over the years?

That was beautifully explained Sir.

I just want to add that Trafford the borough has only existed since 1974 and Man U's Old Trafford stadium was built around 1910 so it used to be in 'real' Manchester. There was no MK Dons style relocating.

From birth until being around 20 I lived in Stretford which is a large part of Trafford. I am also a born Man United fan. (I can feel the red reps coming!) The people of Stretford, fans and none fans, class themselves as being from Manchester. Like the poster who I've quoted put so well, Old Trafford is 5 minutes walk from Manchester.

Us United fans make fun out of the fact they have won only one major trophy in 35 years while City fans poke fun at United being in debt and not being in Manchester.

I liken MUFC to John Cena, he dominates, most people hate him, when he loses the title it's never long before he wins it back.

While I liken MCFC to Alberto Del Rio, dangerous new kid of the block, a lot of money, shot from FCW guy to Main Event quickly and is always saying it's "his destiny" to be champion.

Are there many Man U fans on WZ?

Think there's just you and Dowds and your not getting red rep for being a Man Utd fan we are a bit more mature than that, not much more mature mind you

Glad mate. I've never joined a football forum as I get wound up enough bantering with City fans on the MEN website. When I spotted this thread I was pretty happy as I doubt there are many chav kids on here trolling other teams up. Nice to talk football in a well looked after forum.

No you can't.
Erm, yes we can.

Halsey is a fucking disgrace, stonewall penalty and he gave a free-kick instead when it was clearly inside the area, and a good shout for a 2nd penalty too. Sure our defending for the 2 goals was shite, but still.

I thought Liverpool were great today, especially impressed with how we didn't panic, just stroked it about and worked it side to side brilliantly. But the referee was atrocious! Rodwell's tackle was barely a foul, there were at least two fouls that were worse.

Wol;ves should have had a pen, wolves should have had their last goal allowed. They didn't we won. The referee's decision is final.

Wolves should have had a straight red for the two footed challenge on Tiote.

All true, but it doesn't take away from the fact that Halsey and his assistant are a complete disgrace for that performance.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy after seeing his side denied a penalty and then having a goal wrongly ruled out in their 2-1 defeat by Newcastle: "Bad decisions has cost our side. But poor defending has cost us first and foremost."

^^

You need to learn how to finish to be fair

Yeah our finishing was poor today, when you're on a run like we are confidence is always going to be low. That being said, Krul pulled off some outstanding saves today. Top keeper.

I agree with the poor defending comment 100%, both of those goals could and should have been avoided. Not good enough. Baggies away next which is obviously one of the biggest matches of the season for me, followed by Swansea at home which is a game we need to be winning.

Liverpool were totally unconvincing again today. An inferior team reduced to 10 men don't take 70 minutes to break down. Carroll scored, because it's the sort of crappy game he thrives in, but that had an Everton win written all over it until the red card.

There were 6 games today, and it appears three of the four that didn't involve a Manchester team spanking someone shit were hugely influenced by dodgy decisions, and even in the Sunderland game it sounds like Lee "complete and utter cunt" Cattermole should have been sent off again. I'm not one to whinge about referees, but awarding a free kick for a penalty and sending someone off for a fair tackle are totally ******ed mistakes. Enjoy refereeing Doncaster's match next week, boys.
