Domestic football - spam version

I've seen a few names linked, most of which I am pretty happy with. Motes is the favourite to take the job and no surprises there. I'd hate to see them go back to Lennon. For all the passion he would bring, I think he reached his peak with Celtic and I'd like to see something new. Rodgers would be a good addition, as well as Beilsa but we shall see. I just hope they have the courage and the logic to see that everyone positive comes from a great manager. Push the boat out and get someone worthwhile. Mourinho, you say? :lmao:

Beilsa would be wildly entertaining if nothing else. Moyes himself seems to like the Villa job. I don't think Lennon would be a particularly positive or well received choice either. I've not heard Rodgers be connected with it and though I'm sure he'd like it for the CV opportunity, I don't think he'd be a good fit given the ideology of the club. Malky Mackay's another I've heard, but my God that would be horrendous I feel.

Rodgers would be incredibly entertaining at Celtic, only for the fact that he seems to be a perfect fit for the club in the state that it is in at the moment. He would make them play well and as they are effectively a selling club at the moment he would probably be able to recycle the squad very efficiently.

Bielsa does seem to be touting himself around various UK jobs. He seemed nailed on for Swansea before Guidolin. Another potentially entertaining choice if only for his gungho style.

Villa and Moyes seem to be a match destined to happen. God knows they need to be rebuilt and he could do that.

Well, Moyes is now at 1/1 for the Celtic job. Looks nailed on at this point. Champions League with Celtic or Championship with Villa? No brainer, I feel.

I was about to say someone like Lee Clark needs to take a crack at Scotland. Then I realised he's been Kilmarnock manager for two months.

No-one in their right mind would take the Villa job. I expect Steve McLaren to be appointed in the summer.

Why is that?

Dude is just so frustrating. Like he isn't bad but he doesn't do a whole real lot to improve your squad. Defensively yes, offensively no. You could just tell the distance between him and the United players when he was at Old Trafford, and then it's like you gotta improve this, this and this, but it didn't/won't happen.

He was put in a bad position at United I will admit, however out of all the links to players we had (which I know you take with a grain of salt), we only brought in Fellaini for 5million more than his buyout clause. It just seemed that whenever we were down, nothing was gonna change that. Can Gaal is frustrating now but you know he always has a plan, you can't say the same about Moyes. Not since his Everton days.

I think you're basing everything off of his time with Manchester United and we both know that is completely unfair. To be perfectly honest, Moyes had a better win record than Van Gaal but he wasn't given a chance. If he had brought in better players in the summer then he would have had a better turn of it I think. The measure of the job is that he has a lot of work to do. We need to trim the squad very badly, put some fore back in the dressing room and re-establish the Celtic way of playing football. Moyes is the prefect man to do all 3 of those things if you ask me. It's slim pickings to be honest. But Moyes is the best of what is on offer.

Additionally, his odds on getting the Villa job has drifted to 6/1 now and getting worse. The bookies don't often get a lot wrong and I have to think that he would prefer to go to Celtic.

Yeah I'm being harsh I know. I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to United. Though he didn't do anything at Sociedad to make me feel like he is actually any better than he was at United. I'll just quickly check the stats but I believe at Sociedad he actually lost ladder position by a wide margin.. And yeah they went from 12th to one spot above relegation because of goal difference. He does have a knack for beating Barcelona though.

Nah he will probably go back to his Preston/Everton days, but I just have this mental scar from his time at United.

The calibre of player that united should attract didnt want to play for moyes and so they went else where or stayed put. I doubt that he'll have that problem at Celtic

Simeone wouldn't consider Arsenal?
Moyes isn't good enough for Celtic?
Klopp could go to Arsenal?

Seems like everyone had a good 4/20

If Simeone does leave Athletico then there aren't that many jobs on the same level. Madrid and Barca are a no go area and Roma fans will burn him alive due to his Lazio days. So that leaves the top English clubs(United, City, Arsenal, Chelsea) the top 2 German clubs, PSG and Juve. To say that Simeone wouldn't consider Arsenal in favour of walking PSG, Bayern or Juve to their league titles is pretty ridiculous.

Lee hit the nail on the head when he brought up Benitez going to Newcastle. After leaving Inter Milan Benitez came out and said he wanted to work in England again. So he waited. He waited for 2 years and all he got was 6 months at Chelsea as "interim manager". A placeholder until they got someone better. Once he opened up to working outside of England he got a big job at Napoli without having to wait at all. Now that he wants to work in England again he realizes he has to take a step down to Newcastle.

The point is if Simeone leaves Madrid then he could find that all the top teams are happy with their managers for the foreseeable future. And if he starts narrowing down the clubs he can work for then he's likely going to find himself waiting a long time between jobs. To say that he would turn down an offer from Arsenal at that time in order to wait a number of years for a chance at a job with another club is just silly. As Guardiola and Ancelotti have shown if you have the reputation then you go to whatever one of the big clubs that want you at the time your ready to start working again.

And as for Arsenal not fitting Simeones "style" since Benitez left every Liverpool manager has come in and changed the playing style. It's not that big of a deal to clubs or managers.

I knew I liked you.

Here fucktard media, yes we would want to be in the final but for fuck sake Pardew is an awful manager. We'd much rather have Rafa than Pardew and anyone who would have it the other way is a fucking idiot.
