Not at all. We have Man City, Liverpool and Spurs in our last five games. Throw in Palace and Villa and I see 7 points max.

That's 35 points.

Sunderland have Arsenal, Stoke, Chelsea, Everton, Watford. I can see them getting at least 5 points from that. They pip us on goal difference.

Norwich have Arsenal, Watford, Man U, Everton. 3 points tops from that.

So yeah I can see the mackems staying up.

That may be dumb but my favourite fan interview was when some liverpool fan went from talking about what went wrong for them into just randomly blurting out "we're gonna win the league"

Simeone won't go to Arsenal, that's a fact.

Is it? When Wenger's gone, the board will be in full-on panic mode. They'll throw ridiculous amounts of money at anyone who'll even come close to filling the gap. And Simeone is one of those names.

And if you think Simeone wouldn't consider Arsenal, you're crazy. Despite the joke Arsenal have become in England, they're still considered a big deal in the rest of Europe.

Yeah but blud he's scared of that blud on the video blud innit.

Also Arsenal, I'm relying on you beating mackems and Norwich.

Arsenal might be a big deal in Europe, that's true. But Simeone will be high on the shortlist of every major club in the world when he becomes available. Bayern Munich, PSG, Barcelona, Dortmund, Real Madrid, Juventus... He is probably the most sought-after manager on the planet right now. With that in mind, Arsenal just don't have the clout to bring him in. They have the money for sure. But they don't have the reputation.

Sorry Dave but if the toon can get Rafa Arsenal can get Simeone.

I don't think it's just about Arsenal, though. It's the Premier League. Simeone is young and ambitious, he has all the time in the world to earn the easy paychecks. If he wanted them now, he'd probably already be at PSG or somewhere.

Simeone has proven he likes a challenge. And what bigger, yet realistic and well-paid challenge than making Arsenal great again?

Also, Simeone would never go to Dortmund or Real over Arsenal. Dortmund are good, but can't pay that much. And Real are his biggest rivals.

I don't know if he would be elsewhere right now. I think he has signed up to the challenge at Atletico and he is doing his utmost to see it through. I am positive that people have already come calling for his services already and he has turned them down. I do agree that Arsenal would be a good challenge for him, however. And he might even be up to the challenge of getting them the Championship eventually. But I just don't see it. Firstly, Arsenal's way of football is nothing like Simeone's. And second, just because he has his whole career to get massive pay checks, that doesn't mean that he doesn't want them now.

The big teams are going to line up for Simeone, you know that. I don't know why you think that Arsenal would be his first choice. Outside of the challenge of getting them what they want, there is nothing for him there. If he wants a challenge, he should become Celtic manager... :lmao:

Got to agree with Dave here. He seems set to stay with Atletico until they either sack him/he quits due to making an arse of it like Klopp did at the end of his Dortmund tenure or he wins the European Cup. That would probably be mission accomplished.

Simeone will probably end up in Italy or England after his run in Madrid and if it's the former he'll probably only go if they can pay him. Outside of Juve and Roma (who he's unlikely to be going to due to his history as a Lazio player), I think everyone else would struggle financially to get him.

If he's going to England, it all depends on the timing. Arsenal would likely install Wenger in a position which would allow him to select a successor or at least play a role and given what he's built at the club, I very much doubt he's picking the defensive king of modern football. He could pick Klopp though and if Arsenal are persuasive enough/shove enough money Jurgen's way, I wouldn't be shocked to see him leave Anfield for the Emirates.

That'd free Simeone up for Liverpool. Or if Van Gaal somehow manages survive until his contract runs out at the end of next season, and they don't think Giggs is ready, then Simeone could end up at (Man) United. Alternatively, he's the next Chelsea boss after the next Chelsea boss.

Or, a few left field ones here, he takes on a real challenge and takes over a club achieving well below it's potential like Newcastle (this would require a takeover or Mike Ashley to pump pretty much his entire fortune into the club) or decides to follow in fellow renegade defender Slaven Bilic's footsteps and ends up at West Ham (who appear destined for greatness further down the line or he becomes to latest coach to underachieve with Spurs.

tl; dr? He could end up nigh on anywhere in England and it depends on if he's in it for cash or the challenge (or both).

No Dave, he should come to Dundee United. That is a real challenge.

I don't think that Arsenal is his first choice. But c'mon, do you think Liverpool was Klopp's first choice? Ditto for Man City and Guardiola.

The Premiership lures in world class managers who probably have better offers from all over the world. It's a huge draw. Plus, the board would throw all kinds of money at him, including a nice big transfer budget to play with. And Wenger will have a hand in his successor. We all know how good a persuader Wenger is, that's why Ozil is playing for a team that's fourth in the Premier League and long gone from the Champion's League.

I don't think Simeone's first choice is Arsenal, nor do I think we'll be favourites to get him once he leaves. But I think it's a very realistic possiblity.

If he wants a challenge, he should become Celtic manager... :lmao:

I meant a challenge worth doing...

I agree. And Arsenal just happens to be a nice little middle ground between a ton of cash and a huge challenge...

So who's next for you Bhoys (see what I did their?) then? Lennon returning? Moyes? I would've said Lambert a few months ago, but he's at Blackburn now.

I've seen a few names linked, most of which I am pretty happy with. Motes is the favourite to take the job and no surprises there. I'd hate to see them go back to Lennon. For all the passion he would bring, I think he reached his peak with Celtic and I'd like to see something new. Rodgers would be a good addition, as well as Beilsa but we shall see. I just hope they have the courage and the logic to see that everyone positive comes from a great manager. Push the boat out and get someone worthwhile. Mourinho, you say? :lmao:
