Great. this is just what we needed yet another belt that will go unused. this belt would have to be the worst idea WWE has had since Putting the belt on the great Khali. Why on earth do we need to belts for the Divas when the one we have at the moment doesnt get used properly, hasnt since Trish and Lita retired and most likely never will. most of the Divas cant wrestle for shit so unless they are going to hire some of the small few in the world that can its a waste of time. The sad part is if they do infact make this belt it will have more Credit then the ECW championship. What they need to di is bring back the CruiseWhieght champion ship back or the hardcore belt. even better would be not worrying bout making a new belt, And just focusing on the belts we have. Man oh man and i thought the womens division could not get any worst and well i was wrong it has. A divas championship belt what the hell is wwe smoking right here. I mean the womens championship belt is trash so the divas championship belt will just be plain garbage. I mean who does smackdown and ecw have anyway as divas that is at the moment really championship material no one thats who no one. I mean if wwe trying to help the womens division this is how you do it hire actually women wrestlers and not models or strippers that you picked up in a club thats how the womens division will get better. And if wwe now trying to compete with tna knockouts then they can forget about it cause wwe doesn't have enough talented divas to do so. Good job wwe again you put down another smart idea. i dont even know what a divas championship even means..andall those girls gettin excited about it...theres nothing legitimate about winning this belt. i actually dont want natalya to win it because it will demean her to me..shes womens champ quality..let boring mccool win the dumb belt and NO ONE will care..the belt says to the SD girls.."youre not worthy of the Womens belt so we'll throw you a bone and give u a belt someone will probably win in a Wet and Wild Match..Maryse for Champ! AHAHAA......the best thing for the WWE to do to 'compete' with the quality of TNA is to move Victoria and Natalya to Raw and move Maria, Ashley, and Candice to the other shows and spread them out..the great thing about theKnockouts is that them ost dominant and devastating chick is champ and that the best of the best challenge for the belt..ie Gail Kim, possible ODB and Roxxi mixed in..but TNA also has non-title feuds that are great as well..its about creativity, not whose the hottest. sure beth is strong and dominant, but how many times haas she lost by some stupid roll up? there is no titles feud and that takes excitement and importance out of it so when it does goes up for contention, no one cares cuz they get dumb feuds or dumb matches forced down throats...if TNA decides to give the Knockouts their own show, it will get higher ratings that TNA itself and present a big problem for the WWE..but we know whats gonna happen with this stuff..Mickie will lose it in some random fluke match, McBoring will be the Divas champ (HAHAHAAHA) and TNA Knockouts will continue to be the high rated parts..what fun
It certainly seems that everyone in the forums are quick to shoot down the idea of a second Women's title as absolute crap, even though I am in agreement that the divas on SD! need a championship to compete for. However, if WWE follows some simple steps I think this can be successful.
1) Showcase only the best divas with the best in ring abilities while training remaining potential divas until they are ready to compete. In other words, don't put Maria in constant squash matches against Beth Phoenix every other week when she could be further trained. Put maria against a jillian hall or cherry....for example until she is at the level of Victoria, Glamazon, Mickie, etc.
2) Promote the Divas as serious athletes instead of just eye candy. I know that most casual male wrestling fans might just watch for that purpose, but I for one find it attractive to see some girls kicking each other's asses every week cause it shows they're more than just an object.
3) Constantly scout the Indy organizations and any other avenues for new talent, and send divas whom may be rusty or need additional work to FCW when needed. There is no harm in that, and the more divas competing for a championship will make it a more credible championship when done right over time (I know it takes more than the amount of contenders to a championship to make it prestigious, but this is a new championship and if you only have two ladies regularly fighting for it then it is pointless.)
If WWE follows those steps and really puts some heart and soul into this, it just might work. Will they, however, remains to be seen. So let's hope for the best and be optimistic....and should WWE drop the ball with this, then the IWC can happily rip them a new one, ha ha!

in my opinion the only divas that are good/ can actually wrestle are Victoria (who is my fav female wreslter in wwe), beth pheniox, nattie, mickie james.... thats really it to me the rest are just eye candys in my opinion (or being atempted to be eye candy) theyre just for looks with no talent if they want a womans title on smackdown, just hav the womans title being defended on all brands give beth and mickie some good comp, well different comp. do with that like they did the undisputed title thats what i think should happen

there is 0 reasons why a Divas Championship should be made. the SmackDown/ECW divas were meant to be "eye candy" and thats how they should stay. the WWE doesnt need a nineth championship at the moment. they can barely keep up with the 8 they have. reason being thats y the Cruiserweight title was dropped. but hey y not just add another belt and reduce the meaning of the other 8? who cares right Vince? thats all the Divas Championship will do. reduce the value of all the other championships.
I think is just plain stupid. I agree with most of the previous posts. If they wanted the ECW/SD Divas to wrestle for a title, why don´t make the Women´s Title interbranded? But nooo they added yet another title with a stupid name to have the models win it (besides Victoria, Natalya and MAYBE Michelle).

As I stated in another post, the way things are going, I feel this is what's going to happen:
Chavo will steal the US title from Hardy somehow (maybe through Neely interfering or some weird stipulation).
Morrison and Miz will either be drafted to Raw (hopefully) or stay on ECW via the draft. Since Raw/ECW will merge soon, they'll lose the tag team titles to Finlay & Hornswoggle (unfortunately). However, very soon afterwards (next episode of Smackdown or even maybe during Night of Champions) Vickie books Ryder and Hawkins against Finlay and Hornswoggle. Naturally, Ryder/Hawkins win.
During the Diva's Championship thing, we'll definitely get Michelle vs. Natalya. Most likely, Michelle wins. Then, as they've been focusing on this "who impresses me" angle, Vickie says she isn't impressed with Michelle's win. She grants herself the Divas Championship, saying she's impressed with how she's been running things as General Manager.
That way you get all of La Familia holding titles and getting LOTS of heat (especially for Vickie) wherein by the finale of Summerslam, they've lost all the titles. Michelle wins the Diva's championship, Matt wins back the US title, Undertaker wins back the WHC, but hopefully Ryder/Hawkins don't give it back to Finlay as I don't think Hornswoggle should even be a 1-time champion, let alone having held 3 titles.
As far as the Diva's Championship goes, you take it from there as Michelle vs. Natalya.

How are we sure that wwe won't pull a swerve on us and send the women's championship to smackdown via draft therefore eliminating the need for a Diva's championship just like they did when the drafted Batista to smackdown with the WTC just when they were creating the Smackdown championship a while back...

what did you expect it to look like? its made for dolled up girly-girls. much like the raw womens championship and the intercontinantal title itll be like a piece of clothing. unfortunately i see this title traded around more than it needs to in ******ed matches like a dance off, ruining any chance of this title to be a credible championship. jesus the ecw championship has a better shot at be coming a world title than this title has to last a year without being unified with the womens championship or just deactivated. its the cruiserweight title all over again only this time its hot talentless chicks instead of semi-talented 200 lb guys
My God, that title belt makes me want to gag on my own spit! It looks like a barbie doll belt, for prissy little girls that can dance, and do other ****ty things but not wrestle! I hope WWE learns its lesson from this one, because this hopefully will be the last title we ever see introduced into the WWE, unless it's a unified title. If they don't deactivate this title, but just unify it with the prestige slipping Women's Championship, then the Women's Championship will have lost all hope of ever being a decent title.

I have to say though, despite the belt looking horrendous as a championship in a so-called sporting event, they do have the best design for the attitude it will represent. This isn't going to be a legitimate title, so now at least it doesn't even try to look like one. Its a shame they didn't just consider the option of the tri-branded contention idea for the already existing title. Everyone seems to love that concept.

Its so pwetty. Co'mon Jake, give it a chance. That Championship shines with all that Women's Wrestling means to the W.W.E.Its sparkly, its purple and pink(ish), Its got what looks to be go-go dancers on each side plate. It spells DiVas, with the "V" looking like a pair of legs spread open. If anything, this Championship is specifically made for Ashley.
In all seriousness now. We already had a Women's Championship title. So what need would their be, to create a Championship with a corny name like "Diva" and have it try and rival the legacy of the original Women's title? I believe they'll try to make this Championship start off great, I honestly do. I mean.. Natalya v. Michelle McCool is going to be the match-up for the initial Champion, and both are wrestling females.
While McCool isn't (to me) a great wrestling female, shes above average from the rest on Smackdown. And Natayla is primed for a very long, almost Trish-like Championship reign. She comes from a wrestling family, so to say she wouldn't be wearing Championship gold soon would be stupid. The only downside is as others have said.. this is the wrong division for her.
That Championship doesn't scream "talent and hardwork" it screams "pretty looks and ****tiness."
EDIT: You know I was just thinking. This Championship would've been great to have back when I was a teenager without a girlfriend. It'd provide me with a lot of inspirational matches to jackoff to. But now that I'm married, I have my own Diva's Champion I guess you could say. So this Championship is just pointless to me now.

I think Natayla gonna become the first divas champion but she does deserve way better like the womens championship and she is primed for a great wrestling career. McCool she not that bad she a decent womens wrestler and will be a decent champion. That belt doesn't look all that bad i mean?!?!?!?!

I know the Women's championship is red and on Raw, and the Diva's championship is... purple/pink/blue... and on Smackdown, but for the love of God, this is just too much.
So many people are complaining about the Women's division already... I guess WWE took that as a queue to say "Well, this calls for another title! Boobs, ass, and butterfly belts! Winning combination for sure. The fans will LOVE it."

You can't complain about the Divas Championship when you got a spinner belt. It would have been better if they gave the belt to Natalya though - you know, someone who can actually wrestle an entertaining match. That's not saying Ms. McCool isn't a good female wrestler, you know, relatively, just generic. And quite frankly, call me insane, but I find Natalya to be hotter. Don't like the scarecrow skinny ones.
