Dhays9 Sigs

Dhays9

Pre-Show Stalwart
Alright so I've been interested in making sigs for a long time but never knew how to go about it. So after playing with GIMP for a while this is what I came up with. I'll try to make more but it's really late right now and I just wanted some feedback on my first sig ever.

ThePopeIsPimpSig.jpg

First Sig Ever Made. For this one I decide to just mess around a little bit and set the brush sharpness and opacity on velocity. Next, I got a pre-render of Pope and set the color alpha to black to make it transparent and did the same exact thing for the money. The next thing I did was get a another render of the Pope doing something and put it in the right hand corner and put the opacity at 100. Finally, I added text and overlayed the black text on white text of the exact same thing creating the double lettering effect.

MCMGSig.jpg

Alright, so the reason I made the Murder City Machine Guns sig is the because to me, they are the best tag team right now and have been since they started teaming in the indy's. That being said, I wanted to make a sig about the two as way commerate the two for finally winning the tag team belts and yet pioneering the X division on the way to it. For how it's made look below.

MrAndersonSin.jpg
For the A**hole Anderson sig I wanted to play around more with what TPP showed in the Gimp tutorial but didn't have much time so I really only changed the angle of radial motion blur. After wards I decided I want him on his signature mic and the classic People are Fake t-shirt. Next, was the hard part as I wanted a good picture of Anderson wrestling but decided to put his A**HOLE picture in and changed the two original pictures color alpha to black making the middle picture stand out more. Afterwards I felt that the back looked to spacious and therefore add the title belt into the picture since he is in the title tournament and layered it behind everythinng but the background and the sprial background.

OK, your first one is not bad at all. It has a border, there's minimal dead space, the text works, the image is blended in nicely, and the colors are just fine. Your last two, however, need borders. Borders are essential in sig-making. Other than that, everything looks just fine, though you seem to be using the same blending techniques for all sigs. Vary it up a bit.

It's a very good start. Just keep making sigs, reading tutorials, and improving.

The border it seems I forget about until I posted last night. The backgrounds I totally understand and that is what i'm playing with right now as it was really late and didn't feel like staying up all night messing with Gimp

Here is a new one with a border and I playing around.

PeteyWilliamssig.jpg

For this sig what I wanted to do, was to give props to who I believe has the greatest finisher of all time. The Candain Destroyer. While I wasn't able to get a render of him doing it. I was able to mess around with the background. First off, I made a white background and used the calligraphic brush to place strokes here and there. Then, I blured the image and went to noise>pick and set everything to as high as it could go. To finish the background I decided to use a distort called curve bend. After this, I simply just place a picture of Petey Williams in the right hand side and maple leaf on the left. What I did to Maple leaf was simply make the background transparent, add a light red gradient flare and simply played around with the different distortions until I got the final leaf product. Next, I decided to remember Petey Williams for his time in TNA by adding what he helped create and what he was simply one of the best at an X Division title belt, which I made transparent multiple times to make the red x stand out more from the rest of the belt.

Decided to post one last sig as I feel 5 is enough for ones first day.

FallenAngelSig.jpg

Alright, first off I feel that this sig is probably my favorite because it shows of the more of dark image of Christopher Daniels and the fact I haven't seen many made of him.

The way I made this was by using a black background and used a grunge brush and set fade to the velocity of the mouse movement and made one quick struck while adding a light in the upper right corner. Next, I inserted a picture of Daniels and changed the color of the picture to all grey and took away some of the color to the alpha to make a semi-transparent picture.

Then I added a picture that I feel goes very well with Daniels and that is of an ankh. What I did here was remove the color to the alpha of the red that was inside the border. of the ankh. Then I just played around with the different filters until I found an effect I felt went with the rest of the picture. Finally, I added the text Fallen Angel and made the effect by playing around with the rippling effect.

DashingCodyRhodesSig.jpg

This sig is probably one of my favorite as of right now due to the simplicity of it, yet how good it looks at the same time. All I did was make a black background and put a supernova in the upper right hand corner. I then put the picture of Cody on the left because to me it looks like he is basking in his glory like he is in his gimmick right now. Then I changed the color to grey and color alpha to white to make a transparent look. Next, I simply added the pick on the right due to the fact it looks like he is looking mirror. Finally I wrote Dashing in gold at the top and put a softglow filter on it.

EvanBourne.jpg

I decided to this sig after reading a thread earlier and watching some of Evan Bourne's matches when he was still going by Matt Sydal. My main point in making this sig was showcase his moves more than anything else. Therefore, I decided that is would be best to put the Shooting Sydal Press, a Moonsault, and what looks like he is trying something such as Kaval's Warrior Way. I then added the color picture on the left as I originally was going to enter the text Are you ready to fly? but, saw this seemed to take up to much of the bottom and decided bourne to fly also fitted this sig. I then decided I wanted the sig to match the background which both were done the same way. I simply did motion blur and played with the length till it looked apporpriate for the sig.

Finally, I would like all input as I want to get as good as possible. Please tell me what you like and what you don't like. This is because I wanna make sigs for other but I want to make sure that I'm good enough before I start making sigs for other people

Forgot to post this yesterday.

Sheamus.jpg

This sig I just decided to mess around and do stuff with the background. First, I added a pattern and swirled and blured it colorfied it to green. I did a cloud render and followed it by tinting it purple and did a gaussien blur. Finally, I added the added the renders and the text which is kinda ghosted in the center No More Lies.

Alright, so I just finished another sig (10 in less than a day wow) and I really feel that the background for this sig is probably my best background so far.

DiBiasesig.jpg

The reason I decided to make this sig was totally by accident. I started playing around with different renders and got a sweet looking effect and wondered who would be perfect for this effect. My thoughts brought me to Ted DiBiase Jr. So I got a pic of him doing his finisher and made it transparent so that the background image was still available and place a pic of him in his suit with the belt. Finally, I decided that it would fit the sig if I added the quote made by his dad.

Since you PM'd me asking opinions on your work I will now provide. Your work is very solid and borders are no longer forgotten, not that I really think they matter but apparently it's essential. The Motor City Machine Guns sig is by far my favorite and that one didn't even have a border. Again everything else is very solid work. But for me the MCMG one just stands out to me. I don't think much improvement is needed because your work seems fine as is, but this coming from someone who couldn't make a decent graphic if his life depended on it. :p

FrankieKazarianSig.jpg

This sig came to me as I was watching old TNA clips on youtube and saw Kazarian wrestlea nd saw him hit the Flux Capacitator. (The image on the right ghosted in). This inspired me to make a sig after his nickname "The Future."

Tell me what you think of my sig's. Tell me what I did well and what I can improve on.

Decided to make sig for all time favorite team and to honor the manager of all-time. Bobby Cox of the Altanta Braves. The reason I made it if you don't know is that this is last season of Bobby Cox and he has been a legend in the buisness. I added Jason Heyward into the picture to show that even though Bobby Cox is leaving, he has started a career of what sure to be yet another great player that has grown and mature under his reign as manager.

AtlantaBravessig.jpg

This is a simple sig yet I feel still honors him in pleasing way.

Today I was playing around with the flame render and I decided to an A.J. Styles sig since he has put on some of my favorite matches.

AJStylesSig1.jpg

AJStylesSig2.jpg

I simply started off with a white background and made a render of the flame in the background. I then added the photo on the left and colorfied it blue and did color to alpha blue. I then added the main image which looks evil for A.J. (atleast to me). I then added the small picture behind it which is of him doing the sprial tap. It is actually two images of it with the bottom image being linear blurred. I then added the text and made two different versions of the text as I wasn't sure which one I liked better.

Another day, Another sig.

ThePioneerssig.png

This sig is done in honor for what is to me the greatest era in professional wrestling. TNA between its inception to about the start of 2007. During that period I saw probably one of my favorite matches of all time that set the bar for the X-Division. That match was A.J. Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels.

All I did was make a red background and added a grunge picture I founded and made it transparent. I then added the 3 main pictures that you see and added there finisher behind them which is ghosted in. I finally added the two text which state ITS ABOUT NO LIMITS which is in the back and The Pioneers which is in the lower left hand corner.

I just made this sig and got the idea outta nowhere thanks to Theo. I saw a sig Theo did that an American flag cut away with the picture placed inside it.

This gave me an idea to represent what one of my favorite wrestling tournaments to watch every year for the past couple of years. The World X Cup which feature X-Divison style wrestlers from all the world from different promotions come to TNA to battle for their countries and to see who won the World X Cup trophy.

So on this sig I have represented the four countries from World X Cup 2006. Mexico, USA, Japan, and Canada. I decided it best to add the captians of each team instead of each member which would be 4 each and I added there finisher move. Chris Sabin (USA, Cradle Shock), Petey Williams (Canada, The Canadian Destroyer), Jushin Thunder Liger (Japan, Camel Clutch (an old one)), and finally Shocker (Mexico, Corkscrew diving elbow or just a diving elbow). I then added the words WORLD X CUP to signify what the sig is suppose to represent.

I really feel I have gotten a lot better even though I have only done this for about 4, 5 days so please give me some feedback on the sigs.

Just made this sig for Fred.

What I did was first I made a purple background and added in the image with the pentagram on it and distorted it with a wind effect ontop of the original image. Then I just messed with the opacity to get the right look of "grungeness."

Next I couldn't find a render of H.I.M so I had to cut out the band and place a softglow and a hard light on the image with a gaussion blur. Then I layed another image of the band ontop with a softglow and set the layer to normal.

Finally, I added the words H.I.M and made it gold and colorfiyed it to purple to create a different shade of purple and set the opacity to 49.5.
