Dark Knight Rises Teaser Trailer

Harry Potter will probably do better, but it isn't for sure. Has that been said yet? Because it's the right fucking answer not matter which your a bigger fan of.

Again, you are comparing 8 movies as a whole, to 2 movies as a whole and that doesn't paint an acurate portrait. If you look at individual movies, Batman walks out the winner.

Are you really that stupid??
I said that HP 1 and HP2 did more money than Batman Begins + DK...
Yes, DK (alone) did make more money, but tell me why did the Batman Begins (that is a fucking awesome movie) made $371M (worldwide)??

HP 1 and 2 made both of them $950M and 850M€!!

I didn't compared HP 8 movies against the Batman 2, nobody is that stupid -.-

It is not fair... Batman Begins -> $371,853,783 (Worldwide)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone -> $976,475,550 (Worldwide)

The Dark Knight (one of the best movies ever) -> $1,001,921,825 (worldwide)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets -> $876,688,482 (Worldwide)

Let me make the math here...

DK = $1,373,775,608 - Pretty good
HP 1 & 2= $1,853,164,032 - A little better don't you think??

Not at all. He said there was no mass appeal to Batman compared to Potter. Movie tickets have shown other wise.

That quote is saying that I was the one saying it.

Then I must have mucked up in my copy and pasting. My appologize if that is the case.

Also I was saying that nobody said that batman has no mass appeal and nobody cares about it which is still true. Jay was saying that doesn't have as much of that as Harry Potter. There is a big fucking difference.

Jay said that Batman had no world wide mass appeal compared to Potter. But when it comes to worldwide box office numbers, it shows that he does have world wide mass appeal

I haven't even said which I think will do better, I was just pointing out the bullshit that you were saying earlier in the thread and you have just continued lying throughout.

So you didn't say that in 2011 Harry Potter reins supreme?

Jay said that Batman had no world wide mass appeal compared to Potter. But when it comes to worldwide box office numbers, it shows that he does have world wide mass appeal

No it doesn't!! It was only one movie, and Heath Ledger dead brought a lot of attention, denning it is stupid!!
But it is still an incredible movie that deserved all the money it made..

I was saying bullshit to you knowing that you were not quoting me, because you were saying that I said what was in another person's post.

Then I must have mucked up in my copy and pasting. My appologize if that is the case.

That couldn't have been the case, because you said that I said something I didn't. Possibly misspeaking but not a copy and paste issue. More likely though you were just wrong and are trying to cover it up.
Jay said that Batman had no world wide mass appeal compared to Potter. But when it comes to worldwide box office numbers, it shows that he does have world wide mass appeal

That has fucking nothing to do with this. You said

To say that no one cares about Batman or that he doesn't have mass appeal is crazy.

and I said that nobody said that which is true. Saying that more people care about Harry Potter and that Harry Potter has more mass appeal is not saying that batman has none.

So you didn't say that in 2011 Harry Potter reins supreme?

No I didn't. Try to find were the hell I said that, because I would like to know.

I didn't read this before my last post. I started posting, had to do something else, then came back and finished posting without reading through what I missed.

No worries.

Again, I clearly fucked up and when I fuck up, I own up to it and don't try to backpeddle and twist things around to cover it up or deny that I was wrong.

It must have been a copy and paste issue because I did a bunch of multiquotes, then tried to put them in a different order. It was quite the mess I was making, and some of the stuff I attempted to copy wouldn't paste and I was only getting half of it.

My applogizes in accusing you of saying something you didn't.

I was wrong, you were right.

You seriously think WB is just gonna let the cash cow that is HP go after this movie? please, I fully expect WB's to pull a Lucas and release a series of prequels a few yrs. down the road, or something, the Harry Potter franchise is not going to end with DH pt.2

Legally they can't.

FutureShockWWE, proving again why he's such an idiot. The Dark Knight grossed over a billion dollars worldwide. NONE of the Harry Potter films have been able to do that. DKR will gross over a billion dollars, we'll see if this last Harry Potter film can.

It brought more than attention to the series, it's the reason why even though BB is a far better overall film people just can't help but cream over TDK. His death turned that film into a fucking phenomenon, it was a good film, but not the "masterpiece" everyone makes it out to be.

1. The Dark Knight was better than Batman Begins. Now that we've established our opinions...

2. If Heath Ledger had turned in a shit performance, and the movie stunk, no one would have given a shit. No one gave a shit about The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which was his last film to be released. The movie did well because most people thought it was outstanding, and The Joker vs. Batman is a huge draw. After the success of The Dark Knight, and the way it ended, I see this film making huge money, possibly even more than TDK.

I'm also not saying that I don't think the new one is going to draw big numbers, but over the last fifteen years, Harry Potter has been far more relevant than Batman, and there's no real denying that; this is the closing film and everyone was left on a cliffhanger after the last one. I wouldn't even consider myself a fan of the series; but it takes a blind man not to see just how popular Harry Potter has become.

Who said Harry Potter wasn't popular? I didn't say that. Batman has decades upon decades of history on his side. That's all I'm saying.

Box office favors Potter, no matter how you slice it.

Seeing not a single HP film has done as well as TDK, this doesn't work.

I'll be more than willing to come back and eat crow if Batman has a bigger opening or larger box office numbers. I just hope you guys are willing to do the same when you get blindsided by HP.

FYI, I've never even seen a fucking HP film before.

I've heard that the new HP film will be more satisfying than a wet fart. That's the kind of stirring endorsement you put in an epic TV spot. Looking forward to it.

People who think The Dark Knight Rises will out gross this next part of the Harry Potter franchise are fucking stupid. The Potter franchise is coming to an end, Batman is replacing The Joker with Bane & Selina Kyle, which is really going to make the most money? Harry Potter will be the biggest grossing film of the year, making over a billion dollars. The Dark Knight Rises will likely be the 2nd highest grossing film of 2012 behind The Hobbit.

Harry Potter is currently bigger, Batman is bigger overall.

NO MORE DISAPPOINTING THIRD ACTS!

Wouldn't people be intere
sted in seeing part one of the Potter franchise coming to an end?

Batman will out preform Potter, AND Potter won't even come close to hitting a billion dollars.

Harry Potter is currently bigger, Batman is bigger overall.

I disagree, the HYPE for Potter is currently bigger, but Batman's popularity is bigger overall.

The Harry Potter film is only going to appeal to those who have read the books or who are fans of the previous films. I'm not at all saying that that is a small group, but it pales in comparison to those who will see The Dark Knight Rises which is more accessable to the public than Deathly Hollows Part II is.

Batman will make more here stateside, but Harry Potter will make more globally.

And comparing total gross of films without inflation is silly. It's real easy to make more money when average ticket price today is 7.50 a ticket, compared to 4.00 a ticket for some of the earlier Batman films.

Again it's all silly, because Warner Brothers is going to swim in the cash from these tent poles.

Why would Potter make more globarlly when The Dark Knight made more globally than Potter Part 1 did?

Agreed. I've always been taking inflation into consideration.

Again it's all silly, because Warner Brothers is going to swim in the cash from these tent poles.

That is the moral of the story.

I can't remember its full title, but Part 1 did $954,501,070. That's for half a film with an inconclusive ending. A film in which nothing basically happened, yet people went to see it time and time again. And you think the final part, that wraps up what all the previous films have been building up to, won't make significantly more than part 1?

I certainly believe that Potter is a passing craze. The films are average and so are the books and in six months time all that'll be left is a website (I think it's Potter related, might be wrong). Which is pretty much why more people will flock to Potter. Batman will continue, Potter won't. Warner Bros. are saying goodbye to one absolutely massive franchise, while there will be another Batman film in 5 years time, with or without Nolan.
