Cryptic "01/02/2012" Video - Chris Jericho Returns- KEEP IT IN HERE! - NO SPAMMING!

Not really, cos it was clear it was being done on purpose. If it is a Punk feud they are going for then its the "counter" to the pipe bomb speech... Just cos the return has happened doesn't mean its all over... he could not talk for weeks... Steph or whoever "she is" might come into it over the weeks...But I see this...imagine just when Chris is finally going to speak after weeks of build up and people want to get the explanation...

BONG......................BONG................

Just sayin....

After Lesnar retired from UFC this past weekend nothing short of his arrival would had made the 1/2/12 announcement earth shattering.

Y2J was nice but not worthy of such a build up. He's been gone to long from the game. I don't ink anyone could have watched that Sh!t tonight and came away wanting more.

A waste of a great promo and build up if you ask me.

That's debatable it could have been y2j and if he had done something causing of earth shattering(like the promo)kind of promised then maybe more people would of thought this episode of RAW wasn't a complete waste of time.

What if Jericho is tied into the storyline with John Laurinaitis & Dolph Ziggler. He was really big on Ziggler when he left, and he could be the guy that John has been talking to on the phone.

I'm glad he returned regardless of how predictable it may have seemed to everyone, I just hope he sticks around till September during the Aussie RAW tour :)

You do know the WHOLE point of the no speaking, and just playing the crowd was a real clever way of turning him heel, starting on his return night?

Whenever anyone returns from time off/injury, they always get the cheers and pops... look at Kane a few weeks back, he ended up taking Cena out but thats hardly a big thing to do to gain heat nowadays really is it.

Chris Jericho returned tonight, and left the arena booed, without saying a word or laying a finger on anyone... and has got EVERYONE talking. That to me is a unique, clever and different take on a heel turn.

We all know the rumoured plan is Punk vs Jericho, and I presume they dont wanna let Jericho/Punk battle it out till Mania, so he couldnt come out, cut a promo on Punk or lay Punk out and start a feud there (especially with Punk and Ziggler having a mini-feud till Rumble).

I dont get everyones obsession with wanting an instant and quick pay off, with him in the ring explaining everything in one 20 minute promo... we have weeks/months to build to Mania, and he'll explain weekly id imagine whats going on, or even stay silent for a few weeks to annoy a hell of a lot of people.

Fans moan when things arent "build up right", they moan when things are "rushed" and they moan when things are "dragged out".

This is all part of a bigger overall plan, which is gonna consume up a few weeks, culminating in a Punk v Jericho feud starting at some point after the Royal Rumble

everyone likes to complain that the wwe is so predictable, then complain that the return didn't tie into the videos. the fact of the matter is that NOBODY thought the return would go down like that. if he would have came out and talked trash on punk over the moniker and say he wanted the title, it would have been WAY too predictable. this was shocking. they did their job.

If Jericho just returned out of the blue I could except this no word bullshit. But because there was the promos and build we were entitled to more. The build was fine and the return was fine but the deliverly didn't leave us hanging it left us pissed off. Were not asking for it all to be explained were asking for something to slighty entertain us,which nothing did tonite.

It reminded me of Russell Crowe in Gladiator...when he is yelling "Are you not entertained?" at the crowd... WE got what we wanted... a Y2J return for one night... he doesn't owe us anything more than that and he knows it...

and WWE got the number 1 trend on Twitter tonight... Y2J... so I call that a win win

LOL at all the crying and whining on here. You IWC Smarks don't "deserve" ish, especially from Chris Jericho, who doesn't give a cr@p (kayfabe) about the hypocrites and lowlifes in the WWE Universe.

Jericho is sh!tting all over you smarks, and I'm enjoying it. I'm also cool with the slow build instead of shooting their load early (which the WWE usually does these days with their storylines).

I'd be cool if we didn't see Jericho again until he screws that imposter CM Punk out of the title at the Royal Rumble.

You guys need to get ahold of yourselves. Stop being mad about it, and start thinking about what you have actually just witnessed. Jericho is a smart guy, he doesn't want to come back as a babyfaced good guy. His videos were not babyfaced good guy videos, but like I said, he's a smart guy. Pro wrestling 101 says that if a wrestler is away for an extended period of time, when he/she makes their comeback they will automatically get cheered, no matter what they did beforehand. Prime example: HHH. So knowing this jericho made his old Y2J entrance, soaked up the cheers, and then began partonizing the audience soo much, that by the end of it they were booing him. How is that not brilliant? He got the massive cheers out of the way, now he can explain himself in the next few weeks. Thus making us watch, and giving us more in the long run than just a 20 minute promo, which is something that he has had a problem doing in the past. Giving us more.

His debut, HUGE! Biggest debut ever. He made his speech, went back and fourth with the rock for a few minutes...then what? He faced ken shamrock in his first big feud? Kinda took a minute for him to get back on track.

2007: save us y2j did he? Really? He made his return, cut a decent promo on randy orton, put orton over... then what? Faced JBL in a submission match? So much for saving us... right?

Now he has the opportunity to do it right. He can explain himself in five weeks, rather than five minutes. And he can be a heel throughout. And in the end we'll all be hypocrites for cheering him.

Another thing that is GREAT about this is that it doesn't put him against cm punk right away. Its not about cm punk yet. This is good, because it let's the focus stay with cm punk vs dolph ziggler, which is HUGE for dolph ziggler. Having jericho come down and call out cm punk would just take away from punk and dolph, and I'm glad that it hasn't.

I for one loved the way Jericho's return played out. When he first came out, basking in the cheers and glad-handing with the audience I was confused. When he kept calling for more and more I got even more confused...at first. The when he started pointing at different sections of the crowd to direct the cheers I looked at my girlfriend and told her "He is showing that entire crowd just how much like sheep they are." He didn't have to deliver a promo, the crowd did it for him. Every time he pointed and they cheered, he made his point a little clearer. "You people are like little mindless puppets, and I am pulling your strings." When he dropped the mic in the middle of the ring and the crowd kept cheering he made the statement "I don't have to say a word to keep you all in the palm of my hand." And when he just turned around and walked out he made the statement "You people aren't even worthy of addressing. Cheer for me sheep, you are all here to amuse me."

And the crowd went along with it every step of the way. At the very end, as he was leaving, they finally started to catch on, to realize how they were being used, and they booed him at that moment. And thus the return was successful. Anything else he could have done would have been truly counter-productive. He is respected for his ability on the mic, so a promo (regardless of whether it was a face promo or a heel promo) would have been cheered for the gold it would have been. So instead he showed the crowd just how easily they can be led, just how easily they can be force-fed whatever he wants them to do, and then he made them feel ashamed for reacting to it. I am truly impressed.

I loved how the commentators didn't mention anything after Jericho made his return. After the commercial break, WWE usually does a look back at what just transpired and with a return as huge as Jericho's, I find it fascinating that they didn't do that this time. They didn't make mention of it at all. It just adds to the mystery.

From Jericho's first book from when he wrestled in Germany:
"Drew kept getting in and out of the ring until the fans became rabid. They wanted him in the ring and wouldn't settle for anything less....That's what its all about he said, to not do anything for 10 minutes and still have the people going crazy is a wet dream...Another catch routine that heels follow...."

I think it is pretty obvious(along with the look before he walked away) that this is just the slow build for heel Jericho vs CM Punk for WM. Well done.

Well, when Jericho said he's not coming back until he has something new and different in mind, he really meant it. I went through quite a range of emotions during this whole segment. While I thought it was Jericho, it was still surprising to see him truly be the guy returning. It was exciting seeing one of my all-time favorites back. He was getting a great reaction, milking it for all it was worth... and just kept going. I started to get frustrated when he did the "sections of the audience cheering for me" thing, then a little angry when he dropped the mic. Then I started to think "wouldn't it be funny if he left without saying anything?". Then he started going up the ramp. Getting more and more boos. Then he was gone. All with a massive smirk on his face. This was, of course, what he wanted. Jericho (re)turned heel without speaking a word. It's brilliant. Make the people cheer you until they're sick of it. This could be a special gimmick, one unlike anything we've ever seen. Jericho is a troll, clearly. I really want to see where this goes. To those complaining, I suggest you do the same.

If Jericho just returned out of the blue I could except this no word bullshit. But because there was the promos and build we were entitled to more. .

That is the greatest line in the history of the IWC. Seriously. "We were entitled to more." ...Comments like that make me embarrassed to post on this site.

---------------

You know what else makes me embarrassed to post on this site? It's the sector of fans on this site that need instant gratification. They need everything spelled out for them immediately because they're too lazy and they don't have the attention span nor the brain capacity to enjoy anything that lasts more than a few minutes.

This was one of the best HEEL returns of all time. This was one of the rare examples of a performer being so intimately in touch with his audience, that he was able to put them on a roller coaster of emotions for 10 friggin minutes without ever really saying a word.

From the anticipation of the video starting ... to the excitement that something big was about to happen ... to the jubilation that Jericho appeared ... to the curiosity of what he was going to say ... to the confusion as to why he wasn't talking ... to the anger that he didn't talk at all. This return said more with nothing than any actual promo has said in the past 6 months. It was brilliant

And even more brilliant is that if you want answers .. if you want to know why he came back ... if you want to know how the world as we know it is going to end ... if you want to know who the girl that beckoned his rebirth is ... well, then you have to keep watching.

... Sorry to those that suffer from ADD ... guess you won't be sticking around to find out the answers to those questions. As someone with a fully-functioning brain, I promise to type up a nice summary of how this how all plays out ---- I'll be sure to make it's short enough so that you can finish reading it before your attention diverts to a shiny object.

to whoever is pissed off or think that this was absolutely shit.... THATS THE IDEA!.

This guy is a genius, he played the crown the way he wanted, and made them look like brainless sheeps.

No doubt about it, he is the best at what he does.... this time trolling the sheeps.

rewatched the it begins promos, still can't wrap my head around the fact that it emphasizes a female figure..........it would be so cool if the female figure being referred to was Vickie, Vickie and Jericho would be awesome, so much heat

THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! As someone here said Jericho only will come back if its fresh and different and this was GENIUS! Going back and watching it a second time and knowing how it ends up makes you REALLY understand how great this was. I am willing to bet Jericho came up with the idea on his own and for that he is truly the best in the world at what he does. He has EVERYONE in the palm of his hand and just like that pissed all over EVERYONE while still keeping that grin and everything he was shouting was about him. I didn't get when I saw it THE FIRST TIME the hand shakes going up the ramp than coming back down to get the other side than going on each side of the stage but watching the second time it was FANTASTIC and I totally get it! I honestly cant give this return/"promo" enough praise. I cant even imagine how let down the fans at that arena were (hell I would be) but I hope they re-watch it to really understand that mans great work out there.

Dunno what you guys were watching but that was the biggest waste of 10 minutes I ever saw. Dont even care hes back now. Some of you guys cheer anything. I dont care if it means more, or if its a heel turn. Just completely made me lose interest in the whole thing.

Let me ask to the people that thought it was terrible. Did any of you expect that? Keep in mind that wouldn't have happened not it been planned meaning something DIFFERENT was done. Not only done but could anyone else pull that off even remotely as good as Jericho?

IT WAS DESIGNED TO HAVE HIM LOOKED AT LIKE A DOUCHE. And for those that said he wasted your time. THATS THE IDEA. He has you in the palm of his hand. You all want to see whats going to happen next as that was PLANNED.

Since when have you been pleased with anything?

Anyways, I thought the return was nothing short of brilliant. He came back, encouraged face reactions, then left as a trollish little heel. I'll be tuning in next week, because I know he'll be probably mention this if he shows up to promo on the next RAW.

Nice job WWE for not fucking this up.

Its not that we'll cheer anything. Its that we're smart enough to understand subtlty, instead of seeing it and saying "deeeerrr he no talk, now I no understand. Me angry." If you take the time to think about what he did, than it makes sense. He made memphis tennessee look like idiots. By the time the crowd realized they were being played, he was already up the ramp, and his fake smirk turned real.

You really need to think about it more. Read my last post. All of his past debuts/returns were huge. He came in with a bang and then fizzled out, before slowly building himself back up as close as possible to how hot he was when he made his debut/return. This time, he's a heel knowing that he's going to get cheered. So he played into that, made the crowd turn on him, and didn't explain at all why he was there. So now, instead of him explaining it all about punk, and best in the world, and all that, you have to wait, and keep watching. Also, him not mentioning punk let's the feud between punk and dolph play out with him being inserted right away. If jericho came out and called punk out it would de emphisize ziggler. And no one wants that.

P.s. we're still all hypocrites, because we know he wants to beging the end of the world as we know it, yet we still cheer him like sheep.

I didn't get it at first because jericho has tended to exaggerate in the past, but the second time he went out and slapped fives i said to my wife he is turning right now lol. It was still initially disappointing, but it gives us all more to look forward to. I want to know who the girl is just as much as i wanted to see who the guy was. Now lets see if Vince will allow it to draw out even farther than the usual week or two.

I personaly don't think it was brilliant. Austin KOTR speech brilliant, Rock vs Y2J Debut brilliant, Punk shoot brilliant. There's no way in hell this was brilliant to me.

It was an alright segment. Yeah he disrespected the fans wearing a smile & without saying a word, but it was just fine to me. I'm sure the storyline will get better leading to Mania.
