i thought i heard somewhere that jericho was gona be in hawaii all month of january for his band or book or something. i also read all the references about how jan 2 2012 has letters y2j written into them..but i just doubt it being him. he came back with cryptic messages before..and it didnt even get over that well in my eyes. so why bring back a stale gimmick? he just needs to be jericho..no gimmick needed. but thats my personal oppionion. if it was only the video that wwe played..like the kane video..i wouldnt even think of jericho. i dont think its him at all.
on the twitter page they also got some weird pics up. some kind of coin with a dead bird skull on top..hay in the wind..just weird shit trying to keep us guessing.
i just pray and hope it aint undertaker again. might just be me..but im so tired of this dude. i got respect for what hes done..but having one match a year where we know your gona win anyway..come on.

I respect the hell out of everything he has done, but yea i agree, one match a year when we know you are going to win just doesnt sit over too well with me. and i dont think it does with a lot of young talent on the wwe roster that he gets like 30mins on the WM card when they worked their as*es off for 12 months to get even 3mins on the card. Plus, selfishly i want to see a return of the American Bad Ass. That character in my opinion was worthy

Sounds like Chris Jericho or The undertaker. I will think outside the box, though, and say it could be the day Cena's character turns heel and lashes out at the crowd and the locker room, saying the only thing that matters to him now is beating the Rock at Wrestlemania. Just a guess. It could also be Mr. McMahon's return to start a feud with Triple H. in a power struggle leading up to Mania.

I joke, of course. The promo itself looked like something for The Undertaker but they already gave Taker return promos last year. That promo doesn't look like anything for Stone Cold but maybe for Jericho as he usually has cryptic promos like this. We may just have to wait for a few more of them

It seems whenever WWE teases us with these videos (ie. the boogeyman, taz, Y2J's debut, Undertaker's return last year) we as fans always seem to go above and beyond coming up with outlandish ideas about who it will be, and why.

I mean I remember nearly a year ago (scary to say) those Undertaker vignettes airing and everybody saying it was Sting.

Therefore, I'm going to try and keep it simple this time around and go with the obvious - The Undertaker. Reason? He's set to return for WM29 and the video seems to identify with his character. I mean it doesn't make a lot of sense for this video to be Y2J. It also doesn't make a lot of sense that it's Ahmed Johnson (yes I did read that somewhere), and it certainly doesn't make sense that it's Batista or a Cena heel turn.

It's fun to over think these things, and maybe I will be totally wrong this time and Bob Backlund will walk out ready for a new found title run but I'm going with my gut this time and keeping it simple ;-)

P.S. Anyone confirm that twitter account is legit... it's probably some jerk fan trying to mislead people.

b) Not 'Taker, this time. He'll be back but nowhere near as early as 1/2/2012.

c) Sting? Some other long shot? Come on people. Typically the most obvious answers are correct.

It's Jericho. I'm buying it. I'll believe PWInsider. I'll drink the conspiracy kool aid about the date and the math and all this "23-esque" crap about how it's connected to "Y2J."

Not going to lie: the idea of Punk defending the WWE title against him at WM28 (please no Rock/Cena for the belt) makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand. I'll buy Mania for THAT, not Rock/Cena.

Video has an eerie feel to it, definitely has Taker written all over it. HOWEVER, I'm not sure the words told really suit him, unless WWE are planning Taker vs Henry at Wrestlemania for the World Heavyweight Championship which is becoming more unlikely to be honest. There's an outside shot of Vince/Shane coming to reclaim WWE which I would love to see. The other choice is Jericho. While this video REALLY doesn't suit him, the subtle stuff like it being a youtube linked video and the 'itbegins' caption, that DOES suit Jericho and I have heard rumours of Punk/Jericho at Wrestlemania as the back up to Punk/Austin. So the back up may be in motion. I'll go with Jericho because Taker's too obvious

According to PWInsider.com, the identity of the returning personality in January 2, 2010 is indeed going to be Chris Jericho.

Jack-Hammer, I really like your posts but it seems that you messed up the dates. Shouldn't it be 2012, not 2010?


Anyway, when I first saw the video it sent chills down my spine. Don't know why but it did remind me of taker. However, taker shouldn't be back so early in the year and it most probably would be Jericho/Kane. Furthermore, Kane has his burning mask video already, so this probably is a vignette for Jericho.

Maybe its both Undertaker and Chris Jericho? it makes sence like what they did last year with Triple H and Undertaker only the other way around, like its Jericho making us think hes The Undertaker but its him and he starts saying the only reason why Undertaker is undefeated at Wrestlemania is because he hasnt faced me or somthing,and he could eaither do this for weeks (or just that night i would prefer weeks maybe even a month) and than it just builds towards Takers return and he could be the American Badass or just The Undertaker,and hell jericho could step away from the classic heel gimmick that he loves and tell The Undertaker to his face hes not afraid of him that he wanted The Undertaker to return, challenge him to a match at Mania and Undertaker just standing there does his thumb across the kneck and its offical,Undertaker could even take a extra month off intill it gets a little bit closer to Wrestlemania..

Doesn't anyone realize this is probably the much anticipated return of Yup Yup Yup, Skip Sheffield?

Think about it. Before getting his cowboy gimmick when he appeared on NXT and later as a member of the Nexus, Sheffield had a sent from the future terminator-like gimmick down in FCW and went by the name of Ryback.

Recently WWE trademarked the name Ryback and one day after the vignette airs on TV for the first time Sheffield's profile is removed from the RAW roster but no 'Future Endeavored' article is posted. I don't think that's just a coincidence.

The vignette talks about a familiar face returning to claim what is rightfully his, now what could the Undertaker possibly return to claim? And Y2J is quite unlikely because VKM likes it when he thinks that he's fooling people and bringing back Jericho would be fooling no one. Now I know that Sheffield is not a big familiar name, but people do know who he is and they would really be shocked and caught off-guard if it in fact was him.

Is Chris Jericho a 'force'? I wouldnt call Chris Jericho a force at all. One of the smallest men in WWE history!!! Smart money would be on Undertaker, but thinking outside the box it could be Ryback (Skip Sheffield) or even Batista. These 2 are very unlikely but would make more sense than Jericho who is not a 'force'.

Another suggestion (again a long shot) is the McMahon family. Vince, Shane and Steph, they are back to claim back the WWE.

Thinking about this more, i reckon it could be a "corperate ministry" leaders return, Vince coming back to "reclaim what is his".....this being control the company and has brought Taker with him to win the company back off of HHH giving us.......Taker vs HHH part 3 at WM28.

We already know HHH said he will be "waiting for taker" when he returned, and since HHH is now COO and Vince was "relieved of his duties" what a perfect way to get Taker vs HHH again and bring Vince back into "power".
Vince could use Taker's streak as the reason he should go to WM and take on HHH.... he cannot be defeated, thus Vince would be confident in getting "his" company back.

The reason WWE have videos like this and 2-21-11 are so that the fans can speculate on who it is, why can't people have their theories on who it could be? thats exactly why Vince wants these videos made and aired! He doesn't have videos such as this one done to promote a return, without showing the superstars face, and not expect people to speculate. Granted, after 2-21-11 I haven't looked too much into this one as i did then, but still its interesting to hear other peoples opinions

Had the most amusing conversation with a friend on skype today and he reconned it was going to be Matt Hardy and he cited all the stuff that had happened this year and used the fact that Matt hardy has gone into a WWE sponsored rehab program as his evidence.
He said all the stories were a load of crap and were just stuff to get him out of way for a few months so he could train and come back fully fit and ripped.
By this time I was laughing so much I had to get off for a few minutes.
Who ever it is this video has had the desired result and has everyobdy talking about it.

It begins 2012 is ACTUALLY a current event going on. Now yes, it is the talk of a returning star but ALSO it's the belief, in the Mayan calendar. The end of the world, as we know it, is set to be December 21st, 2012.

Now...here is why im thinking so.

This December 21st stuff. It comes from the Mayan calendar as I said before - the Mayan calendar being Mexican. Add to that the fact that Rey HAS something to come back for, his WWE title. He's pretty "mysterious", with his hiding under the mask and has a lot to come back for.

Im going for Rey for this one, just because...picking on the Mayan calendar seems to be a hint towards Spanishness and I'd be hoping he'd be ready by then after being on the shelf for months.

Before I read this thread I was convinced it was Undertaker. It makes perfect timing for Undertaker to come back before Wrestlemania. It gives him time to dismantle Mark Henry and/or Kane before moving on to his WrestleMania opponent.

But after seeing this itbegin2012 has a twitter I decided to goto the Twitter page. The first tweet I read was something about Rahab the Harlot. I am not a religious person so off to Google I went. The first page it returns is the Wikipedia. The first paragraph says..

The entire Wikipedia article mentions the City of Jericho over and over again. After reading this I am sold that it is going to be Chris Jericho re-debuting on January 2nd. I also think this is going to be CM Punk's opponent for WrestleMania. A lot of people think it would be Undertaker's but I can't see it. Undertaker has always performed better against bigger opponent with HBK being the exception. I still think if it is not a rematch with HHH then it will be against Randy Orton to keep him away from the title match that Daniel Bryan will be fighting in.

This to me made it pretty obvious - it is Jericho. He has said he won't wrestle for WWE as a work...it's pretty easy to work a crowd really I guess. The whole thing points right towards him though, unless this is WWE doing this deliberately to then swerve us with something craptastic.
