Game Modes

Road to Wrestlemania. If I were to improve Road to Wrestlemania I would make it unpredicatble, but yet have the player in control. Basically you start off the first week with a pre selected match by the GM. Then after this you start feuds. You use the interactive features of the previous SvR 11 game, but now backstage brawls, and interactions accumalte something new called feud points, and also would help you get points for being either heel or face. Depending on these two things it would establish who you get matches against and the manner you present yourself in these matches. Also I would have a preset list of accomplishments that if you achieve for whatever star unlocks differnt items, characters, ect.

GM Mode. I love the GM Mode and wish it would make a swift return with the following updates. The manner to gain popularity for superstars is gathered by in ring performance. The matches are rated based upon the acyual match instead of participants. And the other brands play fairly in that their ratings actually make sense. I would keep everything else from Svr 08 but make it way more realistic.

WWE Universe. I liked it enough that I would keep it however I would want more control. I want to be able to have random title matches whenever I want, I want to be able to have my rankings actually change based on what is happening, and I want my midcard to be able to be moved up to ME, without having to also fight in the Midcard title matches. I think the Mode currently is too cut and dry and needs more control from the user rather than the computer.

Characters

I want a Big roster with the moves sets being designed for the specific characters. I think I would have some characters unlocked through Road to Wrestlemaniam, however I have a vast array of legends already available to use, as well as all Superstars. I then would have extra spaces on my main character slection page where I can place my downloaded CAWs into them so they are easily accesible. I would have no Downloaded Content Characters rather different attire for charatcers which can be Downloaded because this would allow for one less click to be made.

Arena

I want each arena to feel different. If I'm at Night of Champions it better not at all resemble Survior Series. Also I want to be able to brawl into the crowd. I think this would be really cool and would really add to matches like Falls Count Anywhere. Also, the weapons underneath the ring have to have different actions that you can do with them. How sweet would it be to do a leg drop wdrom the top rope holding a chair underneath your legs. I think they need more diverse weapons scattered underneath the ring then just having chairs on this side, hammers on the other.

Commentary/Crowd

I think the commentary should be done by JR and Lawler, but it must match what is happening. I want several different possible lines and I want them to actually call the match instead of their usual commentary on the background of the character. As for the crowd it must during the match go back and forth with cheering and booing people. I think if it broke out in chants it would take the game to the next level.

Gameplay

I want the game to be a whole lot faster and feel like an actual match, In no way should a match be able to be won without hitting a finisher or multiple signatures. I feel more recently that all it takes is a few high flying moves and you can win the match which is ridiculous. I want the match to seem real. Also, if they keep the buttons simple it would add to the fluidity of the match. Also, I want to see the effect of what I am doing actually appear on my opponent. If I am targeting their left leg make them limp. Or if they are hurt in the arm make them punch less with it. It needs to be more realistic in order to be top notch.

Online

I don't have too many concerns about online mode as it usually is fine for me, however I would take away the glitches. For example I would win a match by pinfall and after it would deuct the points I earned for the match and add more percentage to my DNF column. This gets highly annoying so make sure this gets fixed.

ETC.

Create Your Own Superstar. This is awesome with the all the things you can do. If anything add a little more to it but this is totally fine. Also I don't mind the music in the game however I would make it with the most reconizable theme songs or the plain best themes songs.
 
I felt that Smackdown VS Raw 2009 came very close to what I'd like to see. I would keep the storyline modes offered in that game, but expand greatly upon the roster. I agree with NorCal that EVERYONE on the modern roster (at the time of the game's designing) deserves to be in the game. Whether it be someone like Cena, the guys from Nexus, or even jobbers like Trent Barreta who you wonder how they still have a job there. Include all of the divas as well. I would also offer an extensive list of legends. Every single legend who has been playable in a Smackdown VS Raw game before would be offered in this game. That way it could have been what WWE All Stars was meant to be, a clash of two generations. Stars of today meeting legends of yesterday. It would be awesome. The multiplayer matches could be nothing short of epic, especially with an endless list of possible dream matches.

That's basically it. Smackdown VS Raw 2009 came so close, all it needed was a much larger roster, and then it would have been exactly what I would want from a WWE video game because it already had so much to offer. It was a lot of fun to play and having an enormous roster would have only made it that much better, a new standard would be set for all wrestling video games that follow it. I'm not sure what I would name it.... Probably something along the lines of Dream Matches of Wrestlemania, since that is what the story mode would center around. I'd make it to where you could end up facing different guys depending on choices you make, that'd be awesome too due to adding to the replay value!

Why not just break kayfabe and have the game being about putting on a good match rather than winning? Points go up if you're able to shift the momentum between you and your opponent successfully, or if you hit high impact moves without breaking his neck. You could even have separate criteria, like "let your opponent squash you... and remember to sell it!". Shit, I'd buy it.

"Tap X to blade! No, you overdid it! There's blood everywhere!"

Yes, yes, and ... interesting, number 3! Clearly, in the example Uncle Sam gave, he was playing as Flair. It could even do a "Botchamania: The Game" edition with "*blades*" appearing when you're successful (or not.) There could even be additional challenges like "Survive CZW for a week!"

Sounds like the kind of game TNA should make though, given Hulkster's "Full shoot, brother!" bravado as of late compared to WWE's "We are entertainment, not wrestling!" approach.

The new engine thing I totally agree with, even more than the other stuff. 2001 ... jeez. It does look more real than it used to but it always feels the same these days.

Also, they really need to loosen up/revamp Universe mode. The idea was good but sucked in execution because it restricted what we could do instead of enhancing it.

One more thing ... the roster. Smackdown 2 had everyone. EVERYONE. Radicalz. All the characters of Foley, including Foley as just Foley. RTC. Grandmaster Sexay. Even Essa freaking Rios made the game. Everyone was on it. Get that back up to scratch, please, THQ.
