Create the perfect WWE video game

Mighty NorCal

SHALL WE BEGIN?
Thats right son, im fuckin surgical with this shit. Give me good, meaty posts here peeps.

Ok welp, we all bitch and moan about WWE games being shit, with very good reason, I would say. SO lets put our heads together, and make a good one. Personally, im not requesting the stars and the moon, I feel my improvements would be simple and easy enough.

1. a full roster - Dont cut anyone out, not even the loliest of jobbers. That should be up to the player of the game to decide wether he wants to not use someone

2. Plenty of legends - at least 20. All the big guys. either that, or have 20 legend "slots" available for cross pollunation from the legends of WM game. In fact, that would be a better idea, as people could pick their own legends roster, and it would provide folks inspiration to buy the other game. Allow folks to complete challenges to open up legend slots (you start with 5, something like that)

3. Returned, and expanded GM Mode - was I the only person absolutely fucking livid that htis got cut? bring it back, with alterations. Really simple stuff, like allowing simulations were nothing happens during the week days, more inutitive and involved storyline angles, set designs, and about 10 different stadia designs. Also, a road map of cities to plan your years events would be spiffy. Obviously there are massive amounts of options here, I would rather hear everyone elses.

those are my three major issues. You can keep the storyline carreer modes and all that shit if you would like, it doesnt effect me either way. I think its ridiculous these things cant be done, when Madden and NCAA football has FAR more expansive gaming experiences than what I have named above.

Lets go gents.

I was also annoyed that GM mode was cut so my idea for GM mode would be this:

*Actually be able to watch the promos/segments for the storylines/feuds you created (and have a list of about 50 to 100 angles to choose from so its hard to get bored and you'd see them all play out).
*When you choose to invade an opposing show, actually see it. And furthermore choose how they invade. e.g. Would I be able to use Dreamer to attack Orton on RAW with a baseball bat, and Dreamer DDT him through the announce table.
*Cross brand feuds that could be developed via the invasion option above and the Superstars show (each brand gets to book one of the 3 matches).
*The ability to steal the other show's talent... or if their brand has the MITB holder on it, the MITB briefcase.

Expanded Road to Wrestlemania mode:
*Be able to use created superstars and have 5 created superstars storylines - RAW, Smackdown, ECW, Unified Tag Team, Diva.
*Have 5 storylines per brand.
*Have 2 other non-created superstar Unified Tag Team storylines 1 with a pre-decided team, and one where you form a team out of 2 superstars.
*A Diva storyline using any of the rosters' Divas, hell I wouldn't play it, but I'm sure somebody out there would play it.
* A stable storyline for each brand, as well as a cross brand stable storyline, and a created wrestler + co stable storyline.

Create a match type:
*Combine elements of different matches and gimmicks, or even use ones that haven't been used before... e.g. Diva's panties on a pole match would definitely be a hit... just make sure the pole is in the rafters so high that they'd have to get through Sting to grab them. But seriously a create a match type feature would be awesome.

Bring back create a title:
*Defend it online for prestige instead of just exhibition matches like it used to.
*Use created titles on GM mode.

That's it for now, its almost 3am in England, I should really get to bed, but due to my wrestling addiction I prefer to watch in US time zones... that and the fact RAW is on at the same time, ECW is on after the AM raw replay... and SmackDown is the only show that isn't on at a time that isn't stupid for British people.

1. Make sure you have select legends available, if only in certain game modes. It should be an accomplishment to wrestle with or against the Rock. It should be a major thing on the game. You won't see a lot of people because of LoWM, but give me six guys, The Rock, Stone Cold, Bret Hart, Mick Foley, Hulk Hogan, and Randy Savage, and I'm happy.

2. Return of GM Mode. You aren't alone NorCal. This needs to be brought back and brought back revamped. You should be able to dictate certain finishes in escalating rivalries, more options to keep fueds engaging, and you should have to unlock special match types through bringing in revenue/ratings and not ****e them out, limit their use.

3. 24/7/storyline mode; This year's career mode was utter garbage. Terrible. Nothing engaging in it. I can wrestle more entertaining matches in exhibition mode than being forced to wrestle with this crap. The storyline mode was addicting. They need to fix out bugs in it, and the story should change depending on what you do, most of the stories were going to happen regardless of what you did in SVR 08, which was kind of disappionting. Here's where the legends should be available. You should be working your way up and the peak of your career you should be facing the aforementioned legends.

4. More moves available; Every big man has the same moves, every cruiserweight has the same moves, it's not any fun. Once you play with Mysterio or Khali you've played with everyone. That stupid shoulder-to-chest & repeat 3x move sucks, and may be the most annoying move I've ever encountered.

5. Create a wrestler/entrance- You need unique options for both. Why do I need to choose a championship entrance that someone else already has? All the logos, tatoos, attires, hair styles, someone already has/had.

6. Finisher recognition- If I have Orton and his bar is full I should be able to attempt an RKO from any position Orton can. There needs to be better table finishers, it's completely generic.

7. Hell in a Cell sucks on this game. Once you've thrown someone off, or through the top latches you've done it all. It should be more geniune, it should be the most brutal match on the game. In addition TLC matches should be TLC matches, it's a ladder match, what's with pinning the guy for the win?

There's plenty more, but I'd rather see other ideas, too.

Okay, let's get started..

Based General Layout:

1. Rosters: While NorCal would have you fill the entire game with the entire Company's fill of Main Eventers, straight down to curtain jerkers, I'm on the fence on this one. Yes, without question I'd love to have the ability to know if I wanted to use D.H Smith, (who's currently on the active roster - yet not being used) that I could have the ability to pick him and use him.

However, I realize that the deeper your roster gets, the more the game's graphics begin to lack. So, with that being said.. let's have an easy compromise. Do the rosters like you do them currently.. put as many top level stars, to bottom of the barrel guys as you can. (Triple H & John Cena straight down to Hawkins & Ryder, for example)

Cut out the random guy crap. (ie. Tony & Masked Man) Use those spots for more actual Superstars. And with the individuals you don't make.. follow the next step.

2. Advanced C.A.W: Start adding actual fucking old school, and current Wrestling attires to the options in dressing your Created Superstars. Quit fucking putting flower patterns, and stupid line shapes in 20 different slots. It's overkill, and I can't believe anyone can find the time to randomly make very good looking CAWs out of this shit.. make it easier ON EVERYONE.. just add Old and Current Wrestling attires, of the Superstars who don't make the roster cut..

This way, if we wanted to create.. say, Gregory Helms.. then both his Hurricane and Helms attires will be there for us to decide accordingly.

Second, continuing on this theme. Why is it, guys like Edge, Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker all have amazing long hair.. but when I try to create someone with long hair, it looks blotchy, badly designed and very wrong in general? Fix the freaking hair! LoWM has amazing hair styles to pick from, just copy them over.

On the same note with loading in current and old attires, load in current and old FACES as well as original faces for us to mold from. You can't tell me that with 20 spots (10 male, 10 female) you can't take 5 male and 5 female slots and just add in guys like Hogan, Savage, Lita, Trish, etc. Most everyone who buys these games makes most of these CAWs anyway.. you're just spinning your wheels by adding in stupid shit that no one ever uses. So cut it out, replace it with something useful.

3. Movesets/Create-a-Finisher: While I love the expanded moveset, I can't help but dislike the 15+ DDTs, and 20+ suplexes. Yes, I do indeed find a way to give different suplexes to different Wrestlers, but rarely do I give more than one or two Cruiserweights all the jumping, flipping, twirling DDTs - and they have like 7 of them. (overkill)

I think W.W.E needs to realize they aren't the only Promotion in the world, and while adding moves like the Styles' Clash, the Canadian Destroyer, and even other top T.N.A/R.o.H finishers and signature moves.. the fact remains, NO WRESTLERS have copy-written holds on these moves.. and if you put them in YOUR game, people will be paying YOU money to have them. You'd be making far more people happy, and screwing your Competitor all in the same move. Go for it.

As for the C.A.F feature, if you must keep this around (and it's a nice feature to have) then make sure you do something useful with it. Open and expand the options in it. Keep it at 10 total 'steps', as to keep people from making 10 minute finishing moves. But add the depth of how they're performed.

From the corner, turnbuckle, top rope, ground, behind, front, aerial, running, etc, etc. Get my point? Not all great finishers come from the standing position.

Maybe I wanted to create a Running Yakuza kick that spins you around, so I could attempt to Angle slam you, yet allow you to land on your feet so I could then Superkick you and pin you.. ever think of that? I doubt it, cause I only just did this very minute. But it'd be fucking sweet to see, right?

4. Created-A-Feature: I covered Create-a-Superstar & Create-a-Move.. but there is so much more..

Anyone remember Create-a-Taunt? Why not consider bringing it back, since I despise creating T.N.A guys, and giving them half-way rip off poses that look slightly similar to their own.

But I digress. The true reason I bring this up, is because of the really old school video game (Attitude for the original Playstation) that had a little feature called Create-a-Pay Per View! FUCK YES! Bring it back, and do it now.

With all the updated functions, features and graphics alone.. think of the amazing quality you could create?! 8 matches, the ability to change opening pyro, banners, ring colors, (ropes, posts, pads, logos) even design how the matches happen - from opening match, to Main Event.

5. G.M Mode/Superstar Story Mode: G.M Mode was by far the greatest feature they created, and they were expanding it.. only to randomly drop it.. and for what? "Road to Wrestlemania"? Or the 24/7 mode, in which it wasn't 24/7 at fucking all?! It was basically a Mortal Kombat style bracket, in which you had to defeat like 5 guys, then the Champion of 'said' division. Screw that.. both "story modes" were stupid this year. Scrap them both, and bring back G.M Mode.

Now, how to continue expanding G.M Mode? Let us begin..

Unlike NorCal, I quite enjoyed the weekly proceedings of building up your characters by way of weird mini situations, (dates, workouts, photoshoots, movies, autograph signings, etc) keep that - yet alter them. Something like "internet promos/interviews", continuing feuds through house show encounters, etc.

I also injured the random injuries you could be faced with, if you over work your talent. HOWEVER, tone it down. They had their injury setting on full blast. Sandman (from a year ago) was out 6 months, all because he wrestled twice in one night. It doesn't work that way, several Superstars used to wrestle multiple times in a night. (KOTR, anyone) Maybe even give an option to sub-in injuries when YOU want them to happen.

Simulated Victories. (like NorCal said) Sometimes playing each individual match isn't always the greatest, and simming them is what you wanna do. Yet not always when you do this, do you get the result you wanted. Then you have to quit, restart, start over and re-sim. Rinse, repeat as needed until you get what you want. And most of the time, you've then wasted as much time as it would've just taken to play the fucking match. Give us the option to pick simulated winners.

Continue feuds without having those IN the feud always in the same freaking match. Can't tell you how much "I" got sick of seeing the same two people always finding new ways to be in the same match, when you only got limited options of "single", "tag", "3-way", "4-way" or "battle royal". Bring back a run-in option, or just don't force us to make them have contact on that night. It's not like in real life feuds carry over every single week, with the same individuals in the same match.

Finally, Three Words: Cross Brand Wars. At the big Pay per views (Summerslam, Mania, Survivor Series) they allow cross promotional matches. Let this be optional, whenever YOU want it to happen. On top of that, let us have any match type, on ANY show we want. Maybe I don't always want the Elimination Chamber at No Way Out, or the Royal Rumble type match (w/ 10, 20 or 30 guys) at the Rumble, or the Extreme Rules match - ONLY in the E.C.W arena! Fuck that.

6. Mate Your Games: Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 has the option to upload it's roster to the Legends of Wrestlemania 09 game. Yet you can't reverse that. Well, this works if I wanted to import everyone to the shitter game.. but what if I wanted Hulk Hogan, and some of the other Legends to make "special appearances" on shows through my Smackdown game? Make the import/export feature work both ways. You own both fucking games, and they're made by the same industry. (THQ)

7. Match Types: Why do you cut some out? Special Referee was a huge hit with me - if anything, it needed an adjustment to allow the Official to do more things. Don't always ring the bell if someone submits, let the official decide. Don't always DQ someone if a weapon or cheat move is used, let the official decide. Bring back Special Referee.

Not just that, but Three Stages of Hell as well. And for the love of everything.. allow more than TWO Tag Teams involved in a T.L.C match, or any type of Tag match. I get you only have 6 guys in one match, at one time.. so be it, at least make an option to have 3-way Tag matches.

And I'm pretty sure some other matches that have been long since forgotten and/or buried away and left for dead in the older games.

Someone above me mentioned Create-a-Match Type, while this sounds great I just don't foresee it being possible. Too many people would be upset they couldn't create an Inferno Hell in a Cell First Blood on a Pole in panties match. I say if you bring it in, just do this one with the basics.

Add in older match types that people might want to try, then delete. Dumpster match. Pole/Flag match. Lion's Den match. Stuff of that nature. Nothing jazzy, just bring back memories.

8. D.L.C/Downloadable Content: I don't mind having to pay for extra features to add-in, but make sure it's worth wasting my time to have not already added them in - to begin with.

New Superstars, new attires, new moves, new add-on features to in-game features. NOT random Legends, attached to one individual I might want. NOT Superstars who could've already been added in, but you decided to just keep them out, so you could make more money at a later point.

Also, announce exactly how many DLC packs you'll release, and when, that way we know. (for example, this year's version - they should release a Christian, R-Truth, Jack Swagger, Kozlov pack) The fact is, when the following year's game comes out.. it's still going to contain a shit-ton new stuff that makes everyone want to go out and buy it.. so adding possible new Wrestlers, features, and attires won't stop people from buying updated games a year later.

Overall Thoughts: While I'm more than positive not everything I've mentioned could be jampacked into one game, because I get that everything takes so much space.. and everything I've mentioned is likely not even big enough to fit into TWO games, let alone one.. the point is.. take the most of what you can, and build around it.

Seriously, I'd be happy if you just added Old and Current Attires in CAW, throw GM Mode and Create-a-Pay per view back in. Add depth to Create-a-Finisher, movesets, entrances, and generic music.

oh, I enjoyed the weekly proceedings as well, but there comes apoint were you get your roster how you would like it, I would really enjoy being able to sim through days without having to be concerned about the CPU doing something insane. Remember, I use three controlers, controlling all three brands. So the shit take fucking FOREVER. I despise doing "WWE Promotion" fucking 15 times in a week. JUst let me have the OPTION of simming while doing nothing.

and your SO right about the feud thing. how often to people actually have matches throughout a feud? er, fucking never really. You should be able to keep the feud rolling in whatever manner you would like. I also dug the hell out of Special ref.

I also brought up the create a PPV stuff in my section on improving GM mode, and I know we have had deep discussions about this off site LOL. If you can do it on Playstation, you should be able to do it on the damn Xbox 360. You should be able to assign theme music and shit too.

I used 3 controllers to set-up the Brands, initially. After that, I just switched to plugging one controller in (or turning one on, rather) and letting it control all three Brands.

Makes things easier, but I get your point about simming 15 random things - it gets boring by Summerslam, if not sooner. You should really just have the option to start them off at a certain "popularity" and don't have it drop, unless YOU want it to drop. Not because they didn't cut an autograph section just right, or film a movie correctly.

I used to go on millions of dates - which was stupid in and of itself. I mean, come on.. how often did you see the Company supporting watching Umaga, or Kane (as heels) going on fucking celeb dates. Uhm.. stupid.

and your SO right about the feud thing. how often to people actually have matches throughout a feud? er, fucking never really. You should be able to keep the feud rolling in whatever manner you would like. I also dug the hell out of Special ref.

See, what they need.. if they absolutely fucking wish to continue this absurdity shit with having both guys involved in the same match, in some manner..

Special guest commentator (w/ voice-over insults by those Superstars)
Special Referee
Have them sit in a chair, at the top of the ramp. (that'd be wicked, to me)

Or, you know.. just NOT fucking have them be involved, because they cut a fucking promo earlier in the night!?

I also brought up the create a PPV stuff in my section on improving GM mode, and I know we have had deep discussions about this off site LOL. If you can do it on Playstation, you should be able to do it on the damn Xbox 360. You should be able to assign theme music and shit too.

Adding Pay per view theme music, and being able to possibly create your own mini video package of 'said' show would be amazing!

I personally don't bother with the current wwe video editor crap they have on this year's game. I think I did once, it was neat, but you can't make tron videos with it.. so what was the purpose of it? To share random match stuff online?! Fuck that.. I can type what happened just as easily.

To create an entire Pay per view, from the look of the ring, the design of the logo, the colors of the ropes, post, ring, entrance, etc.. and to then add pyro to open/close your show.. and then add assigned music from your hard-drive and make a package video.. fuck yes. I'd love that game.

NorCal, Will, I'd love to read your ideas. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to spare. Maybe I'll catch up with them later.

But yeah, anyway, to create the perfect WWE game:

1) Get a new engine
The SmackDown! series has been using the same engine since 2001. It is incredibly outdated and needs to be replaced. I can't help but wonder what the new UFC game runs on. If it's the same engine, I will be blown away.

2) Fix the collision detection
Am I the only one that could get other wrestlers to give me a blow job by using Lesnar's choke move while on the announce table? Things haven't improved much since then. Again, take notes from UFC - Yukes are making it!

3) An entirely new concept
Why not just break kayfabe and have the game being about putting on a good match rather than winning? Points go up if you're able to shift the momentum between you and your opponent successfully, or if you hit high impact moves without breaking his neck. You could even have separate criteria, like "let your opponent squash you... and remember to sell it!". Shit, I'd buy it.

"Tap X to blade! No, you overdid it! There's blood everywhere!"

1) Storyline mode should simply be infinite. I remember the original SD games on the PS1, the career mode simply never ended. You could challenge for any title once you had enough rep, and defended it to whoever was next, and you were even attacked backstage occassionally. Never EVER again have it so you can only play as 5 faces in a storymode that starts at the Royal Rumble and ends at Wrestlemania. I was so pissed that i couldn't play as Edge or Orton, and i'm also a guy that gets easily angered by games that don't last very long. You should start off as a jobber, doing training exercises, learning how to get over etc and then move up to ECW. Then it kicks in with you going to the GM and you should have several different options of what you want to do that week. Now, this isn't a new concept, but i've tweaked it a little.

So you walk in and Tiffany says:

Hi ________, you're looking good etc. What can i do for you?

a) I want a shot at the ECW title! (and she says no if you don't have enough points)
b) I've got a niggling injury, could i take the week off? (tiffany would always say yes, but the other two would say yes or no as the game gets harder)
c) Who doesn't have a match tonight? (And then you pick from anyone to challenge who isn't on the card already, OR you can choose to interfere in a match.)
d) I want to beat the hell out of _______ (and then if you're the face, you pick a heel to start on or vice versa. Do that 3 times with the same person, and the 3rd time you get to have a gimmick match. This could also lead to people you challenge frequently interfering in your matches, or attacking you backstage to intiate a brawl)
e) Is there any promotional stuff i can do for the company?
Spend about a year doing that, and then they have a draft and you go to SD! or if you've got enough rep, you go straight to Raw.
Finally, when you challenge somebody for a title, the difficulty should immediately be set for Legend or at least Hard.

2) Bring GM mode back and make it fucking fair! I used to get so pissed with having shows with the highest star ratings for the matches, yet i'd always lose ratings. You'd have Raws where there were no matches in the first two slots and the ME was a 6 man tag featuring 4 Divas, yet they'd get all the fuckin ratings!!!! Also, fueds shouldn't HAVE to have everyone involved all the time. Cheating Girlfriend was a 5 star fued right? How the fuck are you supposed to make it last longer than 5 weeks when you can't have gimmick matches involving Divas? Even if they're the manager?
Secondly, they should finally insist on having elimination tags at Survivor Series. It doesn't have to be a 10-man, but they should still do it. You HAVE to have cross branded matches at Mania, why not at Survivor Series?

3) Work out a proper Casket match and a proper Buried Alive match, not an amalgamation of the two.

4) The weapon wheel should not be limited to Extreme Rules matches. At least get rid of the 2x4 in barbed wire. They haven't used one of those in WWE for years. And Table finishers need broadening desperately. Chokeslam, Powerbomb, running Bulldog and DDT is not good enough some 5 years later. Edge's spear is a good touch though. More ladder finishers other than superplex or neckbreaker would be nice as well.

5) A 10 count in a LMS match should start whenever a wrestler is on the floor for more than 3 seconds (and not the pinfall 3 seconds), and NOT when they're totally laid out on the ground.

Personally i don't give a shit about Create-a-....... well anything. Legends don't interest me either. Just don't let them repeat themselves again or take away anything that they've had in nearly every other game in the franchise so far.

I've been playing No Mercy lately and I've realized how great that game really is. To me it's still the greatest wrestling game of all time by far and this is the case for several reasons. While obviously it would need to be modernized to be effective, there are many critical points from it that need to be in any wrestling game. In not much of an order:

1. Length of matches. The absolute most fun to have in that game is the beatdown you can give people and they just keep getting up. Until you hit either a big move or a finisher, they're going to kick out. I like this as it's stupid that say a hip toss is enough to put someone down once they've been beaten up. Big moves end 99% of matches, so why should anything else end them here? People just kicking out of slams, powerbombs, moonsaults, knees to the head etc., but when you hit that finisher, it's enough. So fucking sweet.

2. Engine/move selection. The No Mercy move selection was as simple as you could get and it woked beautifully. Grapple, hit the D-Pad in whatever direction you pick and hit A or B. Gives you a total of eight different grapple moves to select from and is so simple. This could be upgraded in a modern system, but don't make it overly complicated. The more simple it is the better it is.

3. Counters. Now I haven't played many newer games so I actually don't know a lot of the new features (such as GM mode so that's why it won't be in here) but on one of the last games I played, you had to time the counters perfectly. The best way to have counters is this: when they start the move, hit a specified button rapidly. That's it. The counters don't have to be complicated at all: a simple punch to the ribs to block a suplex, slipping down the guys back on the FU, and backflipping the tombstone into one of your own. However, one thing I always liked about NM was that special, meaning finisher, moves could not be countered. Now I think there needs to be a middle ground to how often you can counter them. When you've barely been hurt at all, countering a finisher would be far easier. Once you've been beaten on and hurt badly, you shouldn't be allowed to counter tehm.

4. Story/Career mode. This was by far the best feature in NM and what kept making me come back to it. There were all kinds of storylines that had to be played out with all kinds of finishes needed to accomplish them all, including a lot of times when you needed to get beaten to get to the full set of angles. This gives the game a mind blowing replay value. In a new generation console, this could be expanded on exponentially. It could get to the point where a storyline mode could have to be played 40 or 50 times to get every possible outcome. The map screen showing what stories you have completed and what you haven't is a must.

5. Create a Wrestler mode. Tihs was another place where NM shined. This mode was amazingly extensive for its time, but that's not what made it great. What made it great was the Smackdown Mall, where you could buy something like 300 different weapons, characters, moves and clothes. You earned said money in career mode matches and Survival Matches, making this another thing that made the replay value especially high. You had to keep playing to get more cash and you needed more cash to buy all the things you wanted. You see say a suplex you want but it costs 5000 dollars. That's say five career mode matches. By doing this, you're getting people to play three game modes: career, CAW, and regular matches in which they'll be using wshat they've bought.

6. Match type. Throw as many as you want in there. Sure a lot of them won't be used, but they're fun to have as options. Also I'd want a random match option. Surprise me once in awhile.

There's other things but those are my main points. I'd buy a game like that, more or less a modern No Mercy, with actual music etc. It sounds decent.

As many of the good points are covered about things like GM Mode, Story mode, etc. I'm going to go about the game engine or how they need to improve the realism quality.

Firstly, they need to re-build animations because I get annoyed at how a slow powerbomb cannot be stopped by an outsider kicking them in the leg or the guy getting powerbombs to counter them. I saw that LOW did start adding a counter system to keep momentum or kill it going, if they could expand that for every move possible! At least Warzone/Attitude were real with it!

Secondly, Submissions, the struggle submission and the fact that Triple H can counter one within a second of touching the Triangle button is god-damn annoying. I did enjoy the challenge of bashing buttons in that struggling way, but additionally I would like the option to let me say if I tap out or not rather than the computer tell me. Maybe something where the guy applying the move pushes a button and the guy in the hold does the same, if they didn't press the same button, the move is in the hold, moves closer, etc but if they match, it moves closer to the centre, if 3 times match, game over. Either way that Submission system needs serious reworkings

Hell in a Cell, simply put, it needs a hell of a workover! Not just the falling off, etc, it needs expanding, the option to take out weapons the ability to pull off spot moments than the standard fall off the top or slam through the roof. What's the point of all that area outside the ring inside the cage when all I can do is 4 random moves and one of them puts my opponent back in the ring?

Simple Physics - the one thing that annoys me the most about Smackdown is how nothing is realistic or just set robotically! I mean a TLC match for example - I want to see Tables that break apart in any situation, not through a finishing situation and a guy being in red, tables needs to be feeble, weak, breakable at any time, make it fun! Additionally ladders are the same, the fact that they fall over any time someone hits the floor gives a shit pushing animation that does nothing. A ladder is meant to have weight and be difficult to move, they should try and give options of guys pulling legs or placing a second ladder next to one and doing a move off it. Would love to try and do Edge's WMX7 spear off the ladder! Weapons in general need an overhaul, they should not have 5 seconds to just hit a guy, have timing, maybe based on how hard or long you hit the X button to swing, not just one generic speed that can be countered all the time. Also, what happened to running into the ropes to prevent a top rope move?!

Equally they need to sort the phyics of the wrestlers, Big Show doing a Swanton? When? How? He shouldn't be doing this! When you have small guys unable to life big guys, that's fair enough, but big guys should be slow and unable to be quick or do top spots with ease (like Kane or Umaga only do it once per match). Everyone should have a strength and weakness!

Add more Tag Team options - Four Corners Match, TLC, Gauntlet. They focus so much on tag matches that they can't be bothered to give us more options to put tag teams in!

Some ranting and few points to make just on the gaming play itself.

Will, I heard that the replay thing they did in 09 might be paving the way for Create a Titantron for this year, so some hoping! I hope they could use that for Create a PPV for rivalry builds if they restored GM mode (I hope)

Your first idea reminds me a lot of SD Here Comes The Pain!. I ike it though.

Was I also the only one that was bugged when playing GM Mode the only time your champions would wear their belts was when they were in title matches. It would be nice if the fixed that up.

Career Mode: A 10 year career mode for your CAW or a 5 year journey for a precreated wrestler.

Injuries: During your progress in the game you can get sidelined by injuries. This means if you are a champion, your title is stripped and you must start over again. Also, injuries require a choice… surgery or just a simple rehab. When you are injured you will be able to do anything but wrestle. That means you can be a special ref, put on interviews, stay home or help others win. If you want to gather a stable then so be it.

Grading: Your matches are graded to a scale. The scale determines what titles are available for you during career mode. The grading ALSO counts to how fans see you. No more picking heel or face, now your play style determines how fans react to you. If your matches are boring have the fans let you know, when you come out watch them be silent.

Create A Title: Bring back C-A-T mode. To be used during online and offline mode. How about bringing back the World Six ManTag Team Championship for all the stable lovers??

Create A Wrestler: C-A-W mode returns dramatically updated with hundreds of costume and appearance choices.

Create A Moveset: C-A-M mode returns with bigger options

Create A Entrance: CAWs get their own custom entrance AND Titantron. The CAW starts out with nothing but gets clips from their matches as time progresses to form your own personal entrance.

Title Expansion: Example: by winning the IC title you can unlock ALL past versions of it for defense. Plus, you can unlock alternate versions of titles, Example: by winning the WWE Tag Team belt, you can unlock the WWF Intercontinental Tag Team belt.

DOWNLOABLE CONTENT
More Arenas from past shows: ALL past ECW, WWE/WWF and WCW shows from the first show to the current year.

More PPVs from past years: All past ECW, WWE/WWF and WCW PPVs from the first to the current year.

Legendary Wrestlers: The wrestlers from the Legends of Wrestling and
Legends of Wrestlemania series.

Updateable roster: When new wrestlers debut they get released as additions to the game. Other past wrestlers can get released as updates. Also, present wrestlers can get updated with new titantrons, finishers and attire.

ONLINE MODE
An online CAW only mode that puts you in the title hunt! It features several tourneys and titles that can be defended at least four times a month. Several E-Feds would exist under the WWF banner similar to the way NWA operates. Each fed would have its own championships and tournaments to compete in until you get an offer from the WWE. Once you get drafted to ECW, Smackdown or Raw you can get a shot at their titles. Oh, and I guess they can do drafts lol. Yes… I like to dream big!

Create a wrestler mode from Day of Reckoning 1 & 2.
Gameplay from Day of Reckoning (not DOR2 though), as I loved having my partner pick the opponent up into a Fireman's Carry, only for me to leap off the top turnbuckle and nail em both. Made for some interesting combo moves.

Matches:
- Normal (1v1)
- 1v2, 1v3, 2v2, 2v3, 3v3, 4v4 (wishful thinking), 5v5 (TNA just did one).
- Casket match
- Cage match
- Hell in a cell
- Barbed wire (ECW! ECW!)
- <Object> on a pole
- Tables
- Ladders
- TLC
- Hardcore
- The one with the fire around the ring, I forget it's name.
- Last man standing
- Bra and panties (for the divas)
- Err...anything else I'm missing?

Customizable ring (just like in WWF Raw for the N64. I loved making pink rings lol)
Create a belt
Create a move, including submission moves, top rop manouvres, weapon-utilizing moves

Again, wishful thinking, but I'd love to see a game contain HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of wrestlers, from all the way back to the very first episode of WWF Raw, all the way to today, as well as a complete collection of Legends, and individual DLC wrestlers could be offered whenever a new wrestler debuts. Same goes for costumes. Rey Mysterio would have quite a collection of masks to choose from.

MORE ARENAS. The very first WWF Raw episode arena, Hammerstein Ballroom, the bingo hall that ECW debuted in, etc. All 20+ Wrestlemania arenas would be nice.

Now of course, Im thinking of this game as if it were for the XBOX 360, but with all this content I'm listing off, this would be better suited for the PC.

Also, NO ONLINE PLAY, for obvious reasons *points to XBOX 360's SvR2009 famous resident cheater, Njosjavelin, who used two XBOX consoles to get to the top of the leaderboard with 9999 wins and 0 losses, yet he claims he did it legit*

id like to have a changeable roster at all times. the wwe can upload new wrestlers all the time online for £3 o so and if the user wants they can delete a wrestler who has been released (its just one of my pet hates having released wrestlers on the game, dont ask why lol).

the main reason all matches can only consist of 6 wrestlers because of the health bar at the topif they squeezed anymore in there you wouldnt be able to see inside the ring very well.

id have it so that during a 8 man tag team match or more the only two wrestlers in the rings health bar shows up, meaning that you can still see the match and health at the same time as the others on the apron really have no need for it as they arent involved.

id also have a create your own stage for a bit of fun where the user can re-create past entrance stages or make up a brand new one just for entertainment purposes.

bring back the gm mode i was a fan of that one.

in storymode id have way more swerves and options for the user to pick from making it nearly a different story you do each time, with every wrestler available to choose from and even created wrestlers.

id like to see more backstage brawl setups with more environmental moves depending on which area you choose.

have more unlockables such as create a wrestler attire, weapons, wrestlers, past belts such as ecw tv, european, crewserweight and the FTW title.

I dont know about any1 else but i personally loved something nobody has mentioned and that is "create a finisher" I loved making my own moves but there should be more cohices and you should be able to chose how the move started so you could make it so like your on the turnbuckle or whatever

Well 1st and foremost, I own the PS2. I recently found out it can go online so add unlockable items to the PS2

I would also bring back GM mode but in a new format. I would make it easier than the previous GM modes. I would make all the PPV's there joint PPV's. Also, I would make an option for budgets to be turned on and off.

I would add legends to the game that havent been in yet. Guys like, Brody,Thesz,Sammartino,Steamboat,Savage,Warrior,Goldberg,Lesnar, and Sting.

I would put back the legends we are used to seeing AKA The Rock, SCSA, Flair, Hogan.

Speaking of Hogan, I would put all 3 of his personas back in the game like they did in SVR 2006, meaning I would put in 80's Hulk, NWO Hulk, and Hollywood Hulk.

The create a finisher should be updated so you can start from wherever you please. You should be able to edit regular characters.

I would bring back the story mode we all remember. I would put it in a SVR 07 format, but add in a little SVR09, so everybody has a different storyline.

Lastly, I would bring back some of the titles, I would bring back Classic Intercontinental, Winged Eagle, Undisputed, NWA, NWO, Attitude Era, and late 70's belt.

I really have an original idea that's never been done before.

Why not making a WWE game out of keyfabe.Since the start of WWE games everyting you do is supposed to be real. You might ask me what is the purpose of playing a wrestling game if the matches you do are scripted? It's very simple to find a way to make your wrestler get over.Yeah start the game with creating your characters' appearance and going to FCW.It is where it all starts you have to choose your trainer but be careful because the trainer you choose will make which wrestling you wrestle. Then you first have to start going gym to have a good look. Then you'll learn things like how to deliver a promo, what's in ring psycology etc. and when you're ready for big stages you'll sign a contract with WWE and you do some dark matches. After some dark matches you're in ECW but you should have to come up with a gimmick of your own or creative will randomly give you one after all it's about trying to pull people's attraction into your matches and you'll have a real life out of keyfabe which means you have realitionship meter with every wrestler. It was just a preview of what I think can be a perfect wrestling game.

This may or may not help make the game perfect, but as a personal preference, I would like to add every single WWE, WCW, and ECW Title and their respective multiple designs as well as every single PPV venue. Also, can we get a game where the 4 Horsemen, New World Order, and DX are represented properly?? One more thing, multiple costumes for each Superstar would be good, like the different versions of Undertaker and Kane for example. Since this is a wish list, may as well throw in as many Legends and Hall of Famers as possible.

Guys, just found some supposed leaked info regarding the new Smackdown game, I think this info is coming out next week, but I got this info, it could be wrong, it may not be, but this was translated from a french website that picked up on the italian page of thq, and it has some promising news if this is real!

Here is some information I recently found. Idk if its true or not but its way too interesting to keep to myself so I decided to make this really quick to inform you all.

Many people save SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 this year. The main reason is the fact that they totally do not know what the game content. Make matches be able 2 last longer, ive never had a singles match go longer than 10mins , its just to generic, same things over an over

special matches should be SPECIAL !! ,,,make cage matches have different hotspots, more ways to escape through the door, be able to have interaction similiar to no mercy when climbing the cage etc, hell in a cell is the most brutal match in wrestling yet on wwe games there just piss poor

have a complete roster , im talking jobbers legends referees vince , shane etc

An updated No Mercy would be the perfect WWE game.

Keep everything as it is as far as gameplay goes..update the graphics..add a GM mode or something of that ilk.

I like how you could edit the wrestlers in Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy. It meant you could update the rosters look as it changed in real life WWE. Also it made making stables really fun because you could put the same T-Shirts etc.. on each member.

1. WWE Universe mode:
This mode should have two different options: General Manager and Career. In GM, you take control of a show or the whole WWE and book everything how you want to. Merge the create-a-storyline with this: make it so all those cut scenes and story desiging techniques are implemented here. Also, give it commentary if you possible can. It doesn't have to be great, but just try and get it there. Implement the old Create a PPV and title belt and allow the user to trade a belt or PPV for an existing one. Implement all you can for this.

In the career, allow the user to take control of an existing or created diva or superstar and guide them through a career. Implement different storyline situations like the ones you use in Road to Wrestlemania and put them in here. Look back to RAW 2: Youhad the option to rest, attack someone, call a person out, talk to or confront people, and more, with different reactions happening and different outcomes affecting storylines. Mix that with programmed in storylines and let it run. Climb your way to the main event.

2. Engine/Physics.
The one used now is good. I think it could use some new implements to make it run smoother but it's a good overall. What I'd like is to be able to create Extreme Rules Hell in a Cell matches and the like.

3. Create a Wrestler:
This needs to be made with better options for face, clothes, attire, etc. Also I think they need to merge create a entrance with this and model it after WWE RAW 2. It was much better in that game. Come to think of it, CAW overall was better in those games.

Those are the only three major things I'd add, otherwise the game would stay the some as now. Take out RTWM and Create a Storyline, since they are merged with the WWE Universe. That's the best I can think of.

I think they need a live roster. mainly for keeping the game up to date. I'm tired of using CM Punk with a big ugly beard and his hair when on tv he has an entirely different look. i'm not asking for them to add new superstars everyday, but if they update the attires of the superstars they have in it, that would be great. cause even when they did update Punk, we got the mask. he doesnt wear the mask anymore either!

I also think they should have more attires for each superstar. Like my boy HBK, they have the old heartbreak tights but he can't wear them? *Hurricane voice* What's up with that?

I think that the Universe mode needs to be more customizable. You give us NXT arenas, WCW brands, arenas and titles, ECW brands, arenas and titles, all of the extra titles, and nothing to do with them in Universe. If you could customize the roster and the universe to include ECW and WCW, that would help a huge bit with the fact that with 4 matches on each card, many superstars get lost and forgotten.

I also think that Universe should keep title histories. I couldn't remember if my superstar ever was a grand slam champ because I couldn't remember if during year 1 did he win the Int. belt now that I'm in year 6.

Add the draft to the Universe. I'm so tired of making my own draft every year after wrestlemania. I forget who the hell I drafted to where.

I think that they should have a season mode, similar to the old smackdown 2 season. It had up to 4 players, it arranged the matches, held the rankings, remembered title history, had unlockables, cutscenes, and was quite fun in my opinion back in the days. playing with friends in that season mode was great. they could expand on it and even make it more like the universe mode, but that was great to me. It was great for people like me who wants to control my character and let the other characters win and lose on their own.

Bring back the ability to store finishers. in the WWE, finishers come out of nowhere. the game should allow you to do that. it should also let you reverse someones finisher with yours if you have 1 stored. you see in the WWE all the time someone reverses the others finisher and hits their own for the win.

Allow you to use custom titantrons from videos you have on your system. I want my CAWS to have great entrance videos like the superstars.

Make all submission moves struggle submission moves. some moves, even some finishers, are submission moves that dont make anyone submit. I think they could have a different size struggle bar depending on the type of submission it is.

Bring back the WWE.com stuff like the power 25 and the news.

Add superstar finsher scenes to the storyline maker. I make storylines with Randy Orton and I can't make a scene where he RKO's someone?

Make title matches feel different from regular matches. Main the crowd react or something. it kills me how every match has the same atmosphere. and get some new celebrations for after title wins. i'm tired of all the superstars falling to the ground as they currently do. Undertaker won the hardcore championship and was reacting like he won his first World Heavyweight Championship?

Allow us to change the color of entrance attires. I hate how I changed John Cena's colors to purple (before the horrible dlc that did the same exact thing) and he comes out with purple wristbands, an orange shirt and an orange hat, making him really look like fruity pebbles.

Submissions.Bring back the system they had in 2007.That way was better then the piece of shit submission system they have now. I remember spamming to beat my friend with the sharpshooter was better then just holding the right analouge stick and not knowing if he was close to tapping out or not.And put finisher submissions as finishers im sick and tired of seeing sharpshooters and crossfaces as normal moves. It would be better as well as only submission that are finishers can make the opponent tap out since its annoying when me and my friend just use them as a cheap way to win when we cant pin each other.

Give AI superstars more health then to just be pinned once they've been hit by a finisher its stupid.

Be able to reverse a finisher into your own.It could work in any occasion.Example Randy Orton tries to RKO HBK,HBK pushes him off,Orton turns around into SCM.Another could be John cena trying to AA Edge and Edge slips down the back of Cena,Cena turns around tries to clothesline Edge but edge ducks under rebounds of the rope and hits the spear. If this was outside then edge could turn it into a Edge o Matic/Edgecution.
