CM Punk Never Looked Back

I was referring to the portion of posters who are expressing this sentiment, both in this thread and in others which have been posting. If you think the shoe fits you, then wear it. Who says he has to be the coolest guy to be around? That's his right as well, to associate with the people he cares to associate with. Maybe he just didn't like you. His right as well.

Dude chill...why so hostile. I was just telling how I see him. I never said he had to associate with anyone. I've met him 3 times to be exact. Twice he treated the entire locker room the same, not just me. The third time I didn't really pay any attention to him. He seems really uptight. Not sure why you feel so strongly about this. He is a great wrestler but he is free to leave if he wants. But seriously I was just trying to explain why he may have not have contacted Y2J, but I really don't give a damn about him contacting anyone. I'm not sure why we even keep discussing this guy at all. Its kinda funny how he and Colt are like best friends but complete opposites. Colt will talk with you like you have been friends for years and just loves talking wrestling in general.

I'm not so sure why you feel that how someone treated you once merits discussion on an internet message board, but you're exemplifying the point I'm trying to get across. He doesn't owe anyone anything. It's telling that my explaining this point is 'hostility'. Who cares about how he treated you? Is how you treat other people in private the subject of message board discussions? Are people forming threads and espousing their opinion of you based on three meetings? Do people post gems like Douche Douchington here concerning your personal life?
Punk would be homeless if it wasnt for this message board of posters and everyone in the wrestling industry.

...he should be scrubbed from wrestling like chris benoit.
I entirely get why he'd walk away from professional wrestling. What kind of person he is when the cameras are off, providing he's not killing puppies, beating his wife, or performing double homicides (hi, NFL!) is none of my concern. Nor yours, nor anyone's here.

As a human being, I've long had this suspicion that Punk was an asshole in real life. I'd say that 90-95% of the various reports, rumors and fan accounts I've read regarding Punk in real life suggest that the guy's a real jerk. He just always struck me as someone that I personally, most likely, wouldn't get along with in real life. Earlier this week, I read a report in on one of the sites that was the reprint of photos a fan had taken at some sort of sporting event, I think it was a sporting event, and something he'd written on Twitter in which he just asked Punk if he wouldn't mind posing for a pic with him, or sign an autograph or possibly both. The guy said that Punk just cockily smirked at it and didn't even bother to address him and that he'd have preferred Punk told him to fuck off or something rather than just ignore him or look at him as if he was something squishy he'd stepped in.

That may be the case but that also puts him in the same territory as many pro athletes and other entertainers. And I'm sure a guy like that who may not be great at the inside political game would eventually have that come back to bite him within the company. But still, I just can't fault him for acting as a company would act if they wanted to part ways with an individual

I just find it ironic that his persona in WWE was the 'stand up for wrestlers' gimmick while now he is burnt out by the wrestler lifestyle and refusing to be associated with it at the moment. And his fans that are supporting his current situation were probably cheering on for his gimmick of wrestlers > sports entertainers without seeing the irony.

Anyway regarding the OP, I don't think Punk is doing anything wrong. When someone leaves a company, most likely you lose contact with your co-workers or at least won't be communicating as much with them. Maybe Jericho thought they were more intimate friends than they really were? Or maybe Punk thought Jericho was angling for him to appear on Jericho's podcast and didn't want to be bothered with that. Either way, it might be rude but hardly something to knock Punk over with.

I'm not famous, and Punk is. Punk knew what he would deal with when he made it big. I didn't start this stupid thread and I wish we would stop making punk threads all together. It seems like you just want something to argue about. So ill leave if alone and you can focus your time on someone else. I'm not sure what I said that was so terrible. Just telling my opinion which is what the point of forums are. The discussion was about punk and my response was about punk. What kind of person he is when cameras are off are none of our concerns, I agree. I never said it was my concern, nor did I use that against him to downplay his abilities. The guy is a jackass..and one of my favorite wrestlers of all time.

But you pitched in, told everyone what your opinions of CM Punk were off-camera as if had any relevance, and got upset when someone gave you their opinion of your opinion. That's what the point of forums are, right?

You claim to get the point here, but you don't- you still seem to think your personal opinion on what CM Punk does off camera is relevant; otherwise, why tell us you think he's a jackass on the basis of being in a locker room with him a few times? Because he's famous, and you're not?

If there's anything that's obvious about CM Punk leaving professional wrestling, it's that he doesn't want to deal with exactly this kind of crap, from people who feel they have the right to speculate on his private behavior; people who feel that he owes them some kind of debt because they liked his character on a professional wrestling show.

Speculate? I've been around him for hours at a time. Thats not speculation, thats an opinion based off of an experience. I've said like 10 times that Punk could leave whenever he wanted too. He doesn't owe anyone anything. I never damned him to hell for leaving like so many others have. I've quit several jobs, he can do what the same.

You just contradicted the hell out of yourself buddy. You say that he wanted to get away from people that speculate on his private behavior...um you know you just speculated on his private behavior with that very sentence right? You have no clue, why he left but you formed your own opinion of the situation and posted it concerning his private behavior.

Punk is famous so he gets bashed on here, non famous people just get bashed on twitter and facebook. Everyone gets talked about.

When did I get mad? I actually find this to be funny. You're defending Punk like he's your own child lol

Well, Jericho himself said that when he left back in 2005, he wanted to cut off most relations and links with the WWE, so that he could stay away for a while. He didn't talk to most of his friends. On his podcast, he also says how he hasn't talked to a lot of good friends (Edge, Chavo etc) in many years and that his podcast was a good way of reconnecting. If anything, he should be the first guy to understand that Punk might just want to cut off all his relations with the WWE, either that be the authority themselves or just the regular Superstars and Divas, except, of course, AJ.

I don't know if that's true, if Punk keeps in touch with certain guys, but it doesn't seem crucial or anything. It doesn't seem to me that Punk and Jericho were really close to keep in touch even after Punk walked.

Sure, some people might choose to keep in touch, even after leaving, but some aren't like that, and if you ask me, Punk would be the first guy on my list to do so.

I don't understand where Punk gets this enormous ego. Dude is a dick to so many fans. Is he still crying about not main eventing Wrestlemania?
