I plan on seeing 500 Days of Summer sometime this week. I'm excited about that.

I'm most excited about see Inglourious Basterds, though. Cannot fucking wait for that.

District 9 is not my cup of tea though. There's no way I'd ever watch that.

FUCK yes it is. Anyone who hates that movie is an evil, soulless spawn of Beelzebub. They should be lined up in rows and shot.

This. Snakes on a Plane is one of the few "horror" movies I'll watch. If you take it seriously, you are an idiot. If you go in expecting something fun and over-the-top (and bring some friends with you!) you will have the time of your life.

Anyone here seen Appleseed Ex Machina? I bought the DVD the other day, and I love it. The animation is beautiful, the action scenes are amazing, and it's a great movie all around.

Wonder Boys is perhaps the greatest movie ever made set in college.

Well, except for The Rules of Attraction, of course. :)

Nope. I saw it was on IFC and thought about checking it out. I have yet to see a bad movie starring Kate Winslet, so I wouldn't expect that to be any different.

Yeah I saw it on IFC as well and thought it looked interesting. It's Kate Winslet and Jane Campion directing, so at the very least it will be interesting. Apparently it's about aborigine cults or something. Sounds interesting, I might just have to check it out. Thought I'd see if you'd seen it first.

I don't know if I can go that far. I can't recall all the ones I've seen offhand, but I'm sure there's ones I haven't seen, that are better.

Excellent cast though.

Rules of Attraction is definitely the best college movie ever. Perfectly captured everything college was like for me here.

What's funny is that in Varsity Blues, James Van Der Beek's character got into Brown. I guess that's where he turned into Sean Bateman. :lmao:

And did you ever see Wonder Boys, X?

Haha wow man I never thought about that! Must've been, there was quite the bit of debauchery at Brown and all of the other campuses in RI. Considering the state is so small we could just drive from one campus to another and hit up several different parties. The opening party scene in TROA specifically reminds me exactly of this guy Mike's house where I partied at quite a few times.

And did you ever see Wonder Boys, X?

I've seen bits and pieces of it on TV before, and I'm pretty sure I have a copy somewhere. One of those $5 dollar DVDs at Wal-Mart that I buy and never get around to watching. I take it I should give it a viewing?

I'd recommend Wonder Boys. It helped me to take Tobey as a serious actor, and Michael Douglas is pretty damn good. Robert Downey Jr is almost always a win, and Katie Holmes ain't half bad either.

I'd give it a 4/5

Spaceballs is okay. I want to slap anyone who thinks it's one of the funniest movies ever. Such an overrated film. There's a few funny moments here and there, but overall it's just an embarrassing mess of a film that atleast half of the jokes fall flat in.

I'm enjoying it, but it certainly isn't one of the "funniest films ever". Wouldn't even crack my top 25, I think. And as Mel Brooks films go, The Producers (especially the 2005 version) is way better.

...You actually enjoyed the 2005 version of The Producers? Yuck, that film was an abortion on celluloid. The original puts it to absolute shame.

Spaceballs really isn't anywhere near Brooks best work though. It's only famous for being one of the first spoofs.

Well, to each their own. I love musicals and thought it was hilarious. Don't get me wrong, I adore the original, I just thought the remake was better. I own both.

I really need to buy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum...

If the main actress in the Ugly Truth wasn't completely bsing about the vibrating panties scene, I may see that movie.

I know, but she allegedly sports a legitimate "O" face in that movie.

If my friends go, I'll tag along to see that.
