I'd give it the same rating. I thought the writing and direction were average. Linney and Hoffman really saved this film, but, have these two ever sucked in anything that they've done?
whatd you guys think of the Butterfly Effect
I fucking hate The Butterfly Effect. It's always cited as a great movie by people that think they know about film, but really don't. No offense to you if you like it Norcal.
But god I despise that movie. It's a big steaming pile of shit.

You a Halloween fan as well JMT? I've been obsessed with the franchise since I was a child, I'm actually writing up a post over at the Official Halloween boards right now as we speak. Watched the 4th one myself earlier today, absolutely adore that movie.
Oh don't get me wrong NightShift, if you don't enjoy cheesy horror film sequels, I'm sure you won't enjoy Part 4. But if you like nostalgic 80s horror films, Part 4 is a fucking classic. Definately one of the most enjoyable films in the Halloween franchise (but don't watch it expecting it to be really scary or something, it is at heart just a cheesy horror sequel)
goodness X, you are just TRYING to pick fights with me tonight.
That's right you punk bitch, let's go, I declare fisticuffs!
Nah I guess we just really disagree on Hart and the Butterfly Effect. Too incredibly random things to list side-by-side. We probably agree on most other things though I'm guessing. Are you a big movie guy?
Sidenote: Watched Tobe Hooper's "The Funhouse" tonight. Anyone seen it? Pretty decent 80's horror fare with a great carnival location. One of Hooper's better films.
Oh and I also watched the original Frankenstein. Gotta love the old-school horror, Boris Karloff is a legend. When he throws the little girl into the water it frightens and saddens me every time.
I've decided that tomorrow, I will plant my ass in front of the TV, and watch One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, A Clockwork Orange, and Eyes Wide Shut...Back to back to back. No special reason, and kind of ironic that two are Kubrick, but there really is no reason. I just feel like watching some slightly twisted mind fucks...
See, though X, we disagreed starkly on Boogie Nights as well. or...I think that was me and Shango who got into a big slap fight over it...I think you were one of the Bookie Nights zealots though, if I remember right...
