Bullshit about Movies

Good man, good man. I'm thinking of throwing that flick on tonight myself as well. All depends on whether or not I decide to drop acid tonight. Probably the last time I ever will unfortunately if I do. Blue Velvet was always my favorite trip movie as well.

If I do, I will certainly attempt to post on WZ at some point. However, don't be surprised if I forget how computers work and can't.

Last time because I'm about 98% certain I'm going to get this teaching job, and it probably wouldn't be very appropriate for a teacher to be dropping acid and stuff. All depends on how the job goes.

Eh who am I kidding this probably won't be the last time. I haven't dropped acid in a long time, probably about a year now, so should be very fun tonight. Me and a few old friends plan on dosing up, watching some great/trippy movies and just having a grand old time.

Well I am dosing as we speak. About to pop in From Dusk 'Til Dawn, one of my all time favorite horror flicks. It's just about the most fun you can have watching a movie imaginable in my book, and is great in the summertime when the sun is setting (as it will be in an hour and a half or so) and you're out of your mind.

Plus, it has the greatest god damn song in the history of fucking music period, "Dark Night" by the Blasters in the opening and ending credits.

From Dusk 'Til Dawn is my favorite Vampire movie, ever. The first time I saw it a few years ago, I had no idea what it was about, which made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Anyway X, posting in here for two reasons. First, I wanted you to check out this awesome, awesome video:

[DM]x909z8[/DM]

And secondly, I know it's random as hell, but I'm just curious what'd you thought of the movie Idle Hands?

Firstly, right now I am flying pretty high so forive any errors I make while typing. That video was insane, and is a great mashup of TROA and AP. If it weren't for the character of Paul in TROA then you'd almost think this was a secret cross-promotional easter egg.

Secondly, I fucking adore Idle Hands. Is it a good film? Of course not. Is it fun and campy as hell? Yes with a capital Y. Idle Hands was a movie alot like Ready to Rumble in that I have alot of fond memories of it. I used to really like Devon Sawa as a kid until he disappeared off the face of the planet practically, and Seth Green was always the man to me. When I was like 12 that movie Can't Hardly Wait came out with Seth Green as the wannabe gangsta with the goggles dude I freakin BOUGHT A PAIR OF SNOW GOGGGLES because of that movie! I wore them once, was laughed at, and quickly tucked them away forever.

But yeah what are we talking about again? Oh yeah Idle Hands. Great stuff, kick-ass soundtrack really fun and campy modern horror movie that me and my friends watched atleast 10,000 times growing up.

EDIT: I'm watching The Rules of Attraction right now in honor of you jmt, I am on another plain of existence right now with mr and mrs cid at 10:57 PM.

From Dusk Til Dawn fucking rocks and rocks hard, was it really on tonight?! Awesome dude, I was watchin' my DVD of it. I fucking love that movie so much man.

Now I'm watching Feast, it's the horror movie that Project Greenlight did, I never got around to seeing it until now. Heard some good shit about it, so should be good. HOLY CRAP Jason Mewes just showed up as himself, awesome.

Anyone seen Feast? Any good?

yessir, it was on TNT

Just got done watching Feast, fucking great little horror flick in the spirit of From Dusk Til Dawn or Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight. Tons and fucking tons of gore, monsters versus humans in a bar with the ultra hot Jenny Wade and the hilarious Judah Friedlander plus the awesome Henry Rollins, very fun little flick. Pure midnight movie gold.

Anyone here ever see The Savages? It's with Laura Linney, and Philip Seymour Hoffman...Apparently, Linney was even nominated for an Academy for Lead Actress...

The acting was good...The story was relatable...But, I don't think it was nearly as great as they tried to build it...

XFear - I just saw your rating of Feast :lmao: I'm glad I'm not the only person that liked that...There was some really good stuff in that movie.

I rated it a 7/10, so we essentially had the same thoughts...

EDIT: Here's the poster, for those of you who haven't had the good fortune of experiencing this movie...

Oh yeah it's a great midnight movie flick, lots of fun gore and good humor, great stuff, it reminded me alot of the first Tales From the Crypt movie, Demon Knight.

It was even kind of creepy at some points. I'm not often, if ever, frightened by horror films anymore but the scenes with Judah Friedlander and his decaying body and his reaction to it was pretty creepy, gotta give Judah some credit for his acting there, you genuinely feel sorry for the dude in this flick.

Have you seen any of the sequels? I'm thinking I should check them out now that I've seen and really enjoyed the first one.

Judah was definitely great in that movie, and so was Henry Rollins. My favorite scene is when they send the girl they thought was dead out as bait, and she gets face fucked by the monster :lmao:

I had the option to buy the second Feast, but ended up seeing a copy of Clerks on the way out, so I changed my mind, and haven't seen it around since.

I'm sure it'll be horrible, but I'd spend a few bucks to check it out...

Hell yeah man, I'm glad to hear that. I knew you’re really into the Horror genre, so I wasn't sure if you liked it or not. To me, outside of The Evil Dead 2, it's the greatest Horror comedy of all time. I fucking love Idle Hands to death.

I used to really like Devon Sawa as a kid until he disappeared off the face of the planet practically

Me too, man. The Little Giants was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid, and his character was by far my favorite in the film. I also loved Wild America when I was younger, too. But you're right, man, after being in the only good Final Destination movie, I haven't seen anything of his since.

I just looked at his Wikipedia and the dude's done nothing but B action and horror movies since then it looks like. That's a fucking shame. I'm sure though he'll rebound eventually. Some role on some television show will come his way and that'll probably end up saving his career.

and Seth Green was always the man to me.

:lmao:

I've always dug Seth Green, too. Not only was he great in Can't Hardly Wait (fuck I was in love with Jennifer Love-Hewitt back) and Idle Hands, but I loved him in the Austin Powers movies as well. Outside of Dr. Evil, Scott was my favorite character in the series.

And hey, Seth Green was on The Wonder Years a couple of times, so that's a plus as well. ;)

EDIT: I'm watching The Rules of Attraction right now in honor of you jmt, I am on another plain of existence right now with mr and mrs cid at 10:57 PM.

Awesome.

I too can pop in that fucking movie any time and enjoy the living hell out of it.

I really liked The Savages. Laura Linney, and Philip Seymour Hoffman were both great as they always are, and I thought they had tremendous chemistry together. The movie worked really well a dramedy I thought. Some of those father scenes were hilarious one second, and then heart wrenching the next. Not many movies can toy with your emotions like that, but The Savages pulled it off. Great movie.

Oh hell yes Murf, that movie is absolutely amazing, one of the best Sidney Lumet's ever done, and thats saying alot considering the countless 5 star classics the man has already directed (watched Network and Dog Day Afternoon earlier this week).

While I absolutely loved Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, the ending always kind of pissed me off. It seemed, to me atleast, like it was a cop out. You knew it was going to head that way, and I really wish that the father had just done nothing instead of what he did (won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it). Doing what he did really accomplished nothing in the grand scheme of things. Aside from that though, I absolutely loved that film. Great all the way through.

I think that the father doing what he did was to show you where those guys came from.

Like them being messed up didn't start with them.

You know that's a good point that hadn't occured to me Murf, thanks. I understand why he did it, but perhaps it was just my disappointment that he did. I fealt like, look at what has happened to your family, is now really the time to destroy that family more so then it already is? But now that you've brought up the whole generational thing, it puts that decision in a kinder light now. Thanks Murf, you somehow just made me like this movie even more then I already did.

Watchin' Halloween 4: The Curse of Michael Myers right now. One of my very favorite Halloween movies, cheesy horror goodness at it's fucking best. I love the Halloween movies more then any franchise on Earth man, I grew up on these and the F13 films. Plus it has Sasha Jenson, Sasha Jenson is the man. Though I'm pretty sure H4 and Dazed and Confused were the only well known movies he ever was in.

I'm not denying that they were great. And, yes, it did a good job of jumping between emotions. I wouldn't say the movie was horrible, because the acting saved it, but it just kind of went through the motions of being a movie sometimes.

I'd rate it a 6/10...Not bad, not great, but still slightly above average. Maybe it's so tough to rate, because of all the different elements behind it.

I'd give it the same rating. I thought the writing and direction were average. Linney and Hoffman really saved this film, but, have these two ever sucked in anything that they've done?

So, I'm about to go off and watch two more movies from the infamous 1001 list. I'm looking forward to seeing The Man Who Fell To Earth, but I'm not looking forward to The Time To Live And The Time To Die, as I think Hou Hsiao-Hsien's films are about as entertaining as watching grass grow.
