I actually just watched Doom a few nights ago. Fucking terrible movie. I love how The Rock flips out and goes psycho half way through the movie though, he's so over-the-top in that movie it's simply great. Fucking atrocious movie though, and a total insult to the game. Seriously, how the fuck do you just go and change one of the most important plot points of the entire god damn game?! Oh no, they aren't from hell, no they're just superhuman genetic experiments! Fail. FAIL. HUGE. FAT. FUCKING. FAIL.


Just got done watching Cure. Fucking weird film, but I enjoyed it. Not what was I expecting. I assume TDigs, Jake, and maybe Sam are the only ones on this forum with even the slightest interest in Japanese film.

Wow, X...Damn...

I never said it was a good movie, just enjoyable cheesy action...The over-the-top is what makes it fun to watch.
 
Oh yeah I enjoy it as well, it's not a bad way to kill 90 minutes. But it certainly isn't a "good" film by any standard. It's enjoyable to watch in the same way that something like Transformers is. It's total shit, but it's able to entertain you and keep your attention atleast.

The FPS sequence is bad-ass as well. But overall, they fucked that movie up BIIIIIIG time. They may be doing another film though, hopefully they can get it right this time.

Anyone seen The Happening? I've heard nothing but terrible things.

I have, and I'm undecided on it. While the story itself is pretty awful, I don't think anything else is bad. It's typical M. Night stuff, but the story is god-awful that it kills anything. Better story, movie gets a B...With the story it has, somewhere between a D- and a D.
 
There's something so strangely entertaining about the first 3 minutes of Cure. I absolutely adore the music and wish I could find the score online. Fast forward to about 1:45 to hear the music I'm talking about. I love the intro to this film.

I enjoyed TF2. It's a shit film, but it had enough Megan Fox, comedy, and action for me to be entertained. I don't regret having watched it. It's a Michael Bay film, of course it's going to be a piece of shit.

Not really. He runs around and shouts. Anyone could do that. He's not exactly a great actor.
 
Ok, X. I can concede the Megan Fox thing to you. She did look incredible throughout. She wasnt nekkid though, so, it didnt pick up the slack of how shit that thing was.

When the alein robot fighting storylines / sequences are the most belivable, enjoyabe, most well developed from a film making perspective parts of your movie, you have serious, serious, serious problems.
 
So, District 9, I'd give it either a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. An extremely interesting film. I won't spoil anything for you, but I will say this: this is more than likely the beginning to an awesome R-rated franchise.
 
I've heard it's rather violent, alot of people were surprised it wasn't NC-17. This true TDigs?
 
Hush hush on Disct 9 is you please guys. Planning on going to see it next week, one of the 3 films this summer I was interested in seeing. So please.

It's pretty violent, but it's really fast-paced, so it doesn't affect you as much as more ponderous violence. For example, people get blown to bits and get their heads chopped off, but most of these acts occur in less than half of a second.
 
Transformers 2 was exactly what it was suppose to be, a fun over the top summer action flick there was nothing wrong with the movie at all, anyone looking for depth and a great story or whatever is just being ridiculous, you don't see a movie like Transformers for that reason you see it for the comedy, action, etc., you see it because you KNOW it's going to just be a fun over the top action flick, some people need to just lighten up when they're watching movies and just enjoy them for what they are, it seems to me like several people here seem to expect every movie to be on the level of some award winning masterpiece, fuck that, I just want to fucking be entertained and that's what the purpose of shit like Transformers is for, to fucking entertain you

It's a movie about giant alien robots, it was never meant to be seen as a serious movie, people need to stop looking at it like that, for fuck sake the movie is based on a fucking cartoon most of use watched when we were little kids
 
Yeah, and god dammit when I want to see a movie about alien robots I expect something fun and exciting, not something full of terrible jokes and childish humor that makes me want to facepalm through my skull! I would have enjoyed it more if not for the humping, Devastator having balls, and the like. It was unnecessary and it detracted from my enjoyment of the film.
 
I lie. The part with the girl with the decepticon tounge was terrible, and involved a robot. The part were Optimus said "punk ass decepticon" was terrible, and involved a robot. It mightve been bearable if it had about 2 hours edited out of it. Watching it, I honestly wondered if they even watched it before it was put out. Couldve used a SERIOUS helping of editing
 
Welcome to the world of Michael Bay Norcal. All of his films are trash. That's what he does.
