Breaking News : Hulk Hogan parts ways with WWE

Crocker

Dark Match Winner
Hogan has been pulled from WWE.com completely, he is no longer listed as a judge on Tough Enough, and all of his merchandise links have been removed from WWE’s online shop.

The only Hogan related link remaining on WWE’s website is him being advertised for the Australian tour in which he is scheduled to be the General Manager. However, when you click the link it takes you to a page saying “You are not authorized to access this page.”

In what might be a reaction to all this, Hogan Tweeted the following:

“In the storm I release control,God and his Universe will sail me where he wants me to be,one love. HH”

Apparently it was Hogan's racial slurs :

When the National Enquirer releases audio of the Hulkster dropping the N-word so liberally that insiders are saying "there's no coming back from this."

There's no link, there are about 100 people who know about this right now. But before you delete this thread... trust me. My rep on these boards is not for posting bullshyt.

Hulk Hogan dropped from WWE due to audio recording in which Hogan goes on a racial tirade. WWE preemptively cutting ties before it breaks.

I would withhold judgement. If this is from the National Enquirer, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

I tried going on Hulk Hogan's superstars profile on WWE.com and it says "You are not authorized to access this page." His profile isn't even on the WWE Hall of Fame list anymore.

Isn't that weird guys? Man it must be something bad because WWE is erasing him like crazy and without warning.

Yes, that is odd. If accurate, this is rather akin to the across the board banishment of all things Benoit.

Because Stamford jumped the gun. They probably got a phone call, then a recording, and VKM took a dump in his pants and ordered things wiped clean....before even confirming if anything was for real.

So, how do you explain Hulk Hogan's profile no longer being on WWE.com? Take a look for yourself.

I wasn't denying that WWE is parting ways with him but rather the reasoning behind it. There's also the theory about his sex-tape lawsuit with Gawker swirling around. Even with that theory though, Why now? There can be quite a few different reasons behind WWE suddenly cutting all ties with Hogan. That said The Enquirer is a tabloid, not legit news. As someone else said take anything it says with a grain of salt.

I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't do all of this if they weren't absolutely certain that something happening.

Excoriation of VKM aside, they have been known to jump the gun without a full story. I could buy that, especially if it's possibly a racist rant. But this seems like too much smoke for no fire at all.

Remember, Michael Hayes called Mark Henry the N-word to his face. Not only is he still alive, but Hayes is still employed by WWE.

I know one thing. WWE likely won't make an official statement on the reasoning. They will probably just pretend like he never existed.

Hogan is the biggest name the industry has ever seen, they can't just act like he never existed. They gotta stop doing that with people. WWE is not responsible for everything these guys do in their personal lives.

Remember, that was before people started (this time) throwing trash cans through store windows over race. If you're in media right now and not named Trump, there's a zero-tolerance policy for just about anything racial now. Even the traditional safe ground of a (race) comedian making jokes about (their race) is dangerous territory to play in currently.

Something I noticed though, in every article I've seen about this, there's talk about a Hulk Hogan video in which he uses 'racial slurs', pointing towards what the word is without actually saying it. There's a Symposium post coming when I get back from camping this weekend over the fear of the word n*gger.

They really cannot pretend that he never existed. This is not exactly Chris Benoit we are talking about here. This is a guy, without whom, the WWF would still be playing Monday nights at the Garden, and the NWA as it was, and the AWA would still be around.

If true, the context doesn't matter in this fear based, PC society. The idea of a racial link sends most people
( especially corporations) running as fast as they can to disengage themselves from scrutiny. As someone else stated earlier, comedians get scewered and forced to apologize for mere jokes.

Yeah good point. Just a damn shame that he loses his job over talking about a popular internet meme where a black wrestler calls him that word.

Speaking of corporate WWE, someone should remind Vince that this video exists

Yeah, I remember that. The hypocrisy of political correctness knows no bounds. If this is over Hogan simply quoting others who were joking with him while using the word, it is beyond ludicrous that he may have lost his job. This PC bullshit is asinine. What a great cultural legacy we have now. Christ.

Apparently this is the interview he was sacked for: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2z3kti_hulk-hogan-racist-rant-interview_people

Even as a massive PC liberal who doesn't like Hogan I think that is a ridiculous thing for WWE to do. He's talking about the Booker T 'Hulk Hogan, We Comin' For You' meme for god's sake.

I just watched that, wow this era of people need to get a grip.
First off he was baited by a black show host and then he was talking about a situation in which the word was used in a comical sense.
This PC era needs to end, I am so sick of it.

Whether this is true or not, we'll see (probably is).

All I know is I'm getting a kick out of everyone making fun of this by photoshopping Hogan out of iconic Hogan moments. Oh internets ...
