Breaking News : Hulk Hogan parts ways with WWE

Vince is a greedy bastard, and if there is a buck to be made, he will find it

Agreed. Just thinking about the two times Vince brought Hogan back before .....as much as he probably hated the idea....bears this out.

Think of it: when Hogan left WWE in the mid-90's, he (according to Vince) promised to never work for another wrestling organization.....and he then joined WCW. Then, after wrestling a few high-profile matches for WWE and acting as a good-will ambassador in the mid-00's, Hogan joins TNA and leads the charge proclaiming how they are going to put it to WWE ("A 3.0 rating on the first TNA Monday night broadcast, brother!")

After all that, it was hard to believe McMahon ever wanted to speak to Hogan again......yet, he did.

Okay, this time the problem involves a force outside a Hogan personal betrayal. Yet, time seems to overcome many things that seem insurmountable in the present. Or, perhaps Hogan's public relations people will find a way to show him doing a good deed that a photographer 'just happened'' to be present to capture on film. His public image gets restored and the next thing you know.......hello, Monday night.

It appears that Hogan has finally gotten to tell his side of the story

“Triple H was telling me the USA Network was reacting very badly, and they had to make a quick decision, and that was to put me out to pasture. They were under heavy fire and they were scrambling,” Hogan told SI’s Justin Barrasso.

“The only person I talked to was Triple H. I called him and told him there was some old news coming out from when TMZ first reported the tape and there were some racial slurs on it. Triple H said, ‘Okay, thanks for calling. Let me talk to Vince,'” Hogan recalled.

“He called me back a half-hour later and he goes, ‘I’ve got some news and it isn’t good. Vince said that you need to resign.’ I never heard from Vince or talked to Vince. In the middle of the night, they just fired me.”

WWE then declined to meet with Hogan and his attorney David Houston after the comments leaked.

“That’s not characteristic of what the WWE does,” said Hogan. “Vince McMahon reaches out and helps people. If you’re a drug abuser or you abuse alcohol, Vince McMahon and the WWE reach out and help people. So what’s so uncommon about this was they took the symptoms, said, ‘Oh my god, there’s a symptom of being a racist,’ and threw me away. They usually go to the source. They’ve known me for over 30 years and they know I’m not a racist, so they should have went to the source. I don’t use the word, ever, except for in that moment of anger, so I wish WWE went to the source instead of the symptoms. I could have explained I’ve tried every day since then to be a better man.”

“There are so many people who stood up for me, and you can go down the list from George [Foreman] to Dennis [Rodman] to [Mike] Tyson,” said Hogan. “Triple H even told me how bad he felt about it and he knew that’s not who I was. They know who I am.”

I’d love to sit down and connect with Vince,” he said. “A lot of people make mistakes. If we were all judged by our weakest moment, it would be a sad world. If I had a chance to work with Vince and help people, we could help fix a lot of things together.”

In the end, regardless of whether Hogan ever reconnects with the WWE, he is thankful for those have stood by him. The foundation of Hulkamania, he explained, has always been the people.

“The worst day of my life has been confronted, but I’ve chosen to move forward,” he said. “I’m just really happy that people who have followed me for all these years know who I am. The people have been so good to me, and they treat me like they’ve always treated me. It gave me faith again in the world.”

What bothers me about all of this is that Triple H himself felt bad about it but then never did or has tried to do anything to make the situation better. They turn down his fucking attorney for god sake. And another point I would like to make concerns those who shout out "Jesus Christ" when something happens. Does that automatically mean they are Christians? No. And just because Hogan said that word, it doesn't make him racist.

In all honesty I doubt Hogan is a legitimate racist. However, someone is his position can simply not afford to go around saying things like that, whether it was in confidence or not. Once you've chosen to be on reality TV and have cameras come into your life and home then you've forfeited your right to privacy, the WWE had to do what they had to do for business reasons and Hogans needs to accept that fact. He can quite easily retire with his money and go live a comfortable life.

And what bothers me about the whole thing is the fact that when confronted with what he had said he admitted to it, apologized, and then started blaming others. No, he said what he said, and is now paying for it. It's his own fault. Not HHH's, not the WWE's, not Vince McMahon's and certainly not the WWE universe. If you are going to use a racial slur and get caught, then have the balls to take what's coming to you, or simple yet, don't say it at all.

Like others have said before me, Hogan admitted to saying what he said and he can't take it back. He's a celebrity and should have seen what happened to others before him. Michael Richards for example who is still paying the price for heckling that guy in the audience. You just can't go around saying what you want when you're in the public eye. If you do and get blasted for it don't cry later.

He didn't commit a crime that is punishable by law, but what he said was morally wrong. I don't care if he ever comes back to the WWE, but this will haunt him forever. He might not be a racist, but certainly talks like one. I've never said that word in my life and never will.

The main page is reporting that Hogan is on some sort of apology tour in the hopes of getting back into the WWE sooner rather than later.

They are also saying that Vince McMahon has asked talent under contract, and those that have a good relationship with the WWE, not to reach out to Hogan, or have contact with him.

Interesting that McMahon is going to such lengths to distance himself, the WWE and the people that work there from Hogan. Something bigger must be going to come out.

My final comment on this: Hogan said what he said as a mainstream public figure and has to accept the consequences of it. He cannot bitch about the WWE handling it the way they are, they have to care about their shareholders and their public image. They don't owe Hogan anything at this point, he can't wrestle now anyway, so there's not alot that can be done with him. Seeing as his main role was as an ambassador then obviously they had to fire him.

So, how would you feel if a black person said that they didn't want their daughter f...ing a white person? Wouldn't that be just as bad?

That would be just as bad; racism manifested as discriminatory statements is about the worst kind of racism there is.

If you say not, that you sir, are a massive HYPOCRITE.

Well! It's a good thing I didn't say "not". I must be a massive PROGRESSIVE.

You are either black, and can't move on, or white, and wanting to be black (oh, what are you going to do to me with that comment....fire me? remove all semblence of my existence, ban me from the HoF boo hoo). What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

You are ten pounds of dipshit in a five pound bag, I swear. You're trying to unravel me with logic based around an invalid assumption, your post should have ended with the very first question you asked. I never indicated that I would ever turn a blind eye to discrimination if it's committed by a black person, you assumed as much because right now you're just channeling your inner Glenn Beck.

Now, lynch mobs and what used to happen to blacks was terrible. There is no justification for it. But it goes further than color, or gender, or sexual preference. People should just treat other people better. Period. No-one deserves to have bad things said about them. But it happens in society all the time.

Get off your fucking soap box kid; for fucks sake, you sound like a brain damaged parrot. I was referring to how the n-word invokes reminders of this nation's deplorable moments in history, and you're acting as if that point can be marginalized by implying that I'm therefore ignoring all other problems in the world. The "It happens all the time, get over it" argument is how a stupid asshole like you takes focus away from the real issue being discussed. The n-word is powerful, and Hogan used it carelessly. Period.

You can do two things with slurs- let them define you as a person, or don't let them define you. Your choice.

With that statement; if one thing is certain in all this, you are one hell of an affluent white guy. For fucks sake kid; some people have had to deal with a little more discrimination than you have, and simply not letting those words define them isn't a simple choice. As a white guy; you're fucking stupid if you think that you can just wander into a crowd of black people, shout the n-word, and assume that a valid explanation is that you were talking about yourself.

You can think "Saying that word makes me feel lesser, like I am not as important", or you can say "What a stupid word to use. Ignorant fool. I am better than that. I am not what he said. I am a good, well-adjusted person who deserves respect and honor".

Could you please stop embarrassing the human race and refocus your attention to what I said, and not to what you assume a random black person would say to you? I'm a lot of things, but I'm definitely not whatever cookie cutter bullshit image of a random black person your inept imagination has manifested as a crutch in this debate. You make Crocker's statements on John Cena seem sensible.

Someone calling you the N-word doesn't make you a lesser person. You can be called that, and it doesn't take away from how you treat others, your achievements or your importance. You are better than just stupid word from some ignorant idiot. You can overcome. It takes work, but build up your self-esteem, and be happy with your life. Sure, defend yourself, but take the anger out. Time heals all wounds.

You know what really makes me angry? A jack-off blurting out a chain reaction of the nastiest brain farts I've ever had to interpret. I'm offended by what Hogan said, and I'm offended that you feel that you have the right to talk anyone up. The last thing you need to be doing with your time is lecturing anyone else on how to better use theirs.

But the punishment FAR outweighs the crime.

Hogan didn't kill someone. He didn't rape someone, or touch children. He said some word which the black community uses to continue to play "Woe is me" and actually say to each other, showing what massive hypocrites they are.

I used to admire the advances black people had made in the community, and how many got themselves educated and went onto great things. But stuff like this makes me lose respect for black people, and see some of them as crybabies who still want to be a victim, because it empowers them, and punishes today's whites for things that happened a couple of hundred years ago.

I admire someone like Martin Luther King, because he preached peace and equality. I wonder what he would think of this sort of behaviour from judgemental self righteous losers who think that everyone should bow at their feet.

You will probably call me out for being a racist, since you have no logical argument to defend your point of view, and will resort to childish name-calling. Well, I pity you. Calling people racist doesn't stop the fact that everyone knows who Hulk Hogan is, and he has lost more from this than you, Dark Lady, would achieve in ten lifetimes.

BTW, unless you are black, calling yourself "Dark Lady" is racist, and possibly sexist as well.

Quite honestly I don't care if you are a racist or not, you are the one who has to live with yourself not me.

As for Hogan, just stop. I'll say it one more time. You cannot have a highly visible famous person saying the kind of things he did. When it got out, he admitted to it, and apologized. Now he is paying for it, like a other famous people have paid in the past.

Has he lost more than me, maybe he did, but then I didn't set myself up for a fall did I. I didn't go out become a public figure, earn the respect of millions of people and then open my mouth and lose it all. I wouldn't want to be in Hulk Hogan's shoes for all the money in the world. His life is a shitshow and he can have it.

As for me, I have dark hair and I'm a lady, hence the username. You don't have to be black in order to use the word dark, do you? Since when it that word become racist for a white person to use it?

You are quite honestly the most miserable person I've ever had the pleasure of seeing post on a forum. God have mercy on the people closest to you because their lives must be a living hell being around such negativity all the time.

1) You do care if I am a racist, or else you wouldn't respond to me. Also, why then do you care if Hogan is a racist?

I have no problems living with myself, because I am true to myself and know what I stand for. I don't pander to public opinion and political correctness, so that people will like me. I march to my own tune. I don't get upset by petty insults like you do. So I can sleep well at night.

You, on the other hand, would have trouble living with yourself, since you are so insecure that you need to revel in a celebrity's misfortune to feel morally superior about yourself. I feel sorry for you.

Hogan can say the things he did, because of the First Amendment. He didn't go to jail, so Hogan can say anything that is legal.

2) You aren't a public figure and make millions because you are too caught up in some wrestler's comment from eight years ago, that you endlessly go on about it online, rather than use that time to educate yourself further or enhance a talent, and make money out of it. You might actually be successful if you worked your way up to excellence rather than trying to drag others down to your level of mediocrity.

I would love to be Hulk Hogan, the most famous wrestler of all time, who defined an industry, and made millions from wrestling, TV spots and endorsements. I would rather have been great once than be some pathetic troll on the internet like you are.

3) You are a lady who has dark hair. Well, that won't last long. Most women change their hair, so you will have to change your username soon as well. It also explains things, since women get more emotional and bent out of shape about small things like this.

Oh, you mean I can use the word "dark". Oh, I'm sorry. I thought there were words that only black people can use, but white people can't. So, if Hogan had said "dark", he wouldn't be in trouble? Yeah, right. I'm glad that I have the permission of the black community to use a word.

4) No. I am not a miserable person. I am a happy person, who doesn't need to bag celebrities to feel validated. You, my dear, are the miserable one, because one word has made you angry. As for my family and friends, my company is their pleasure.

Maybe for you it would be a living hell, since even one word upsets you, meaning that your tolerance for suffering is quite low.
