Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day

How about a chicken breast wrapped in bacon?

Galway City by any chance? Me and Dragon Saga are in Galway city, if i recall correctly Sound of Madness was planning on going to NUI Galway too.

Thats the one, I'm doing a masters in NUI Galway. Nice day today eh?

Breakfast today was a bowl of shreddies and a chocolate doughnut. Got to get my sugar going. Its too cold for me to put much effort in these days.

Well, not much. I plan on going to the store this afternoon. What meal can I put together tomorrow morning that isn't to expensive?

I was thinking a sort of egg omelet with loads of cheese and bacon.

Get some veg too man, add a little tomato, mushroom or broccolli and fry them up. You wont regret it!

Broccoli is awesome. Especially if you can get it from a local market because it'll be a hell of a lot fresher than in the supermarket. Probably cheaper too.

I like broccoli more than most but it should not be anywhere near scrambled egg.

Things that go in scrambled egg/omlettes

- ham
- bacon
- sausage
- cheese
- a little milk
- salt
- pepper

And not all at the same time. I want to be able to actually taste the egg.

My omelet consisted of egg, cheese, broccoli, bacon, sea salt, pepper, and a little chopped onions. With all that in it, I chopped up some bacon and onion and tossed it over the omelet. That and a big ol glass of light chocolate milk. Amazing.

Continued...

- peppers
- courgette (or zucchini if you're that way inclined)
- mushrooms
- sweetcorn
- prosciutto
- chorizo
(suppose those last two come under Barb's umbrella terms of sausage and ham)
- smoked white fish
- mussels, cockles, prawns, etc.

Again, not all at once. Egg is supreme. Always.

Actually, omelettes are by far my least favourite egg dish. They might even come below quiche.

As I said earlier, I like to be able to taste the egg itself and not the myriad of other things thrown on top of it.

I should clarify, as I seem to have struck some nerves. I never mix in the veg with the scrambles. Let them be their own breakfast. I fry up some veg and keep it on the side, let a little sauce or butter soak in. Have my eggy toast, and when I want to swap it up, go for the toast and veg.

Though the left overs at the end are glorious. There is nothing like wiping a plate clean with your last piece of bread.

I always buy free range. Never battery. My grandma also keeps bantams which she feeds nothing but corn. Tasty as hell eggs but my god the farts...

Nice day? The government put the price of buckfast up by a euro, yesterday could only be classed as a dark day.....

Had myself some bacon eggs and boxty this morning, an absolute delicacy only available around the middle of Ireland.

Chicken omelette is quite a cruel and unusual dish when you consider it: you're cooking an animal in it's own unborn children.

Never thought of that. But, something deep down inside me wants to do it...

None the less, I had a bowl of bananas and milk for breakfast. Yum

Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel. That's right... I said TAYLOR HAM. Not a fucking pork roll.

New Jersey, bitches.

Porridge again early this morning but lunch was a different affair. Hit the continental market after teaching... It was nearly a fatal decision...

In the 40 mins I was there I bought 3 breads, 2 salamis, a large doughnut, a pint of erdinger ale, a pulled pork bap cooked on a spit roast and a springbok burger... Thank the Lord I had a train to catch.

This was such a good experience that I decided to do it again yesterday, except no porridge.

Early morning cup of tea at home; train to Belfast; tea and a scone for elevenses; mulled wine while walking around the market; spent £5 on pic n mix; bought more bread (went well with soup today); a pint of DAB (German beer) with a "Belly Buster Baguette" filled with spit roasted pork, apple sauce, stuffing and onions and then an excellent wild boar burger for the walk back to the train.

Will be hitting the German markets in Manchester on Saturday, though doing it on the busiest day of the week 10 days before Christmas is pretty much a death wish.

Seriously? Where are you from?

We all have our different backgrounds. Doesn't matter.

As for breakfast, I don't even know what to call breakfast anymore. I eat between 5-7 meals a day and my first one is always a shake. My breakfast type food I had today was 2 eggs over easy, a slice of ham and 2 pieces of wheat toast. Pretty typical for me. Occasionally I get a skillet.

I could go a Bratwurst right about now...

I'm sure the international market pranked Aberdeen or just flat out lied. They were meant to be here a couple of weeks ago but just no-showed apparently.

But fuck doing any Christmas shopping at a market. Not so much for the hassle, but if I'm going to do it last minute I'm gonna go to town on Boots' 3 for 2s rather than drop £30 for slippers that don't make it out of a years casual wear.
I really need to get started on my Christmas shopping though...
