I grow frustrated with damn good wrestling posters don't get the recognition they deserve, because they don't hang out in what is essentially a glorified social networking forum. It's all well and good, but the wrestling rep should be weighted a helluva lot more then the bar room rep.

Well. I dunno how fair that would be. a lot of folks earned the vast majority of it in the wrestling sections back before the bastardization of the system. when we used to have to walk uphill in the snow both ways to make a post. the olden days.
That's perfectly fair. All the huge reps on here were done mostly by me anyway.
Out of the top 10 I'd say TM & Klunder are the only two I'd didn't manually mess with.

Like Shockmaster and Jake already said, I say we just 0 everyone out...no one being grandfathered, no one getting different treatment, everyone back down to 0. And, go ahead and disable rep in NWS then...anyone whose rep means anything now will eventually get back to it.

The same people will be top of the rep charts, it's pointless. But setting everybody back to 0 should piss off a lot of people, even if they don't say anything. I'm all for it.

Good point...then we all start out at 10 like we do when we first started posting. Being a moderator and having a certain number of posts increases your rep though, regardless of the rep you already have. So, you'd have more rep power than most.

I think it is perfectly fine to rep in the Bar Room, after all, funnies in the bar room contributes to site traffic, but people do take the piss.
The problem is that people rep their friends for no reason. Seriously, if youjust look at the rep comments you can see it. This problem would exist everywhere, because everyone makes some posts in the wrestling sections sometimes, and people would rep them for no reason except they like the poster.
You can never eliminate that, but if you raised the bar for rep like I've said, you can lessen the effect of doing so.
I don't see that ending rep in the bar room will solve the rep system being worthless, but I certainly wouldn't give a shit if it was removed.
