The Miz’s Triumphant Return

Last night, at the TLC Pay-Per-View, The Miz was able to conjure up an interesting use for his protégé Alex Riley: using him to knock the “Viper” Randy Orton through a table. There is no doubt that The Miz will be looking to celebrate his victory tonight, but what will the Viper have to say about it?

Morrison’s Ascent Continues

John Morrison has been on a huge wave of momentum lately, and he managed to continue it last night with a huge victory over the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus. Morrison has slowly been working his way towards the title and with his victory last night Morrison is one step closer to finally clinching the championship. When will Morrison choose to redeem his title shot? Will we hear from him tonight? And how will Sheamus recover from this crushing defeat?

Cena Takes Huge Step In The Fight Against Nexus

John Cena and the Nexus have had a rivalry that’s torn the WWE apart over the past year, and last night Cena was able to not only beat Nexus leader Wade Barrett, but make a huge statement after the match. After Cena dumped a huge column of chairs on him post-match, Barrett will address the WWE Universe tonight, and hopes to set the Nexus back on the right path. Will Cena continue to ride this wave of momentum into the Royal Rumble? Or will Nexus rally back and continue their reign of dominance over the WWE?

Nexus Too Ambitious For Their Own Good?

The WWE’s most popular odd-couple tag team continued their impressive tag title run after Nexus member Michael McGillicutty was caught interfering on behalf of the challengers, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. Nexus are unlikely to give up their pursuit of the titles, and the champions hope to prove that they’re still dominant tonight as they face The Usos in non-title action. Will Nexus make their interest in their title known again tonight?

Next for Nattie?

After months of aggravation from Laycool, Natalya teamed with Beth Phoenix last night, and to the delight of much of the WWE Universe, left both McCool and Layla laying in a pile of splinters. While the Diva’s Champion scored a huge victory last night, Melina is waiting to pounce with her title opportunity, and Natalya can’t afford to lift her foot off the gas. Will Natalya continue to gain momentum when these two clash in a tag match tonight on Raw, or will Melina make a huge statement at the expense of the Diva’s Champion?

End of the Road for NXT & Superstars

Wrestlezone.com has recieved word from the WWE that both NXT and WWE Superstars have been cancelled with immediate effect. WWE Superstars was originally pitched as a show featuring a greater amount of wrestling, and less promo time, and WWE really got behind the idea at the beginning of the show's run, with huge name stars appearing over the first few months. Recently however, Superstars had become a show for those that just could not get space on the RAW and Smackdown cards. It has been rumoured that the WWE is coming up with a new way to integrate more of these superstars into Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown, with the most popular idea at the minute being extending RAW to 3 hours a week.

A source within the WWE offered this on the cancellation of NXT:

It seems that Vince finally realised that NXT just wasn't working as a concept. Once NXT lost it's slot on Sy-Fy most here in the WWE expected it to cease to exist straight away, and almost everyone is surprised it lasted this long.

Wrestlezone.com has heard that there are no plans to replace either show with new programming, though many expect some kind of third weekly WWE show to start before the end of the year.

Returns set for the near future?

It has been no secret that the past year has been a bad one for the WWE as far as the amount of injuries that it's stars have sustained. There are multiple stars currently out with injuries that are expected to return over the next few months, and it's been rumoured that there are huge plans for a number of the returning stars, and not necessarily just the obvious choices in Triple H, Undertaker and CM Punk.

Blast from the Past?

A few former WWE superstars are said to have been approached recently about rejoining the organisation. It has been reported that some of these stars are currently under contract with other organisations, and that the fans would be "very impressed" with some of those that are currently being discussed.

Who next to face the Undertaker?

The Undertaker's streak has become one of the main attractions each year at Wrestlemania, and discussion as to who his opponent will be at Wrestlemania XXVII is rife at the moment. Wrestlezone.com has learnt that both Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio have been considered for the role but dismissed. Orton was dismissed because the WWE were keen to avoid a repeat of a previous streak match, and therefore Orton was out of the running due to his 2005 Wrestlemania match against the Undertaker. It was reported that Del Rio was dismissed as a choice because the WWE were hesitant to kill his momentum with a loss at Wrestlemania, and there is still very little talk within the WWE of ending the streak.

The End of NXT and WWE Superstars

The WWE has come to terms with WGN America, and can announce that both WWE NXT, broadcast on WWE.com, and WWE Superstars, will be cancelled with immediate effect. The WWE would like to thank Sy-Fy, the original hosts of NXT and WGN America, the host of Superstars, for their support and advertisement of the respective programs.

Barrett injured!

Following the attack that Wade Barrett sustained on Monday Night Raw, Wade Barrett has been diagnosed with a concussion and will be out of action for an unknown period of time. The doctors say that Barrett was in a bad condition following the TLC Pay-Per-View, and that he's lucky he wasn't more seriously hurt as a result of the attack by his former partners on Monday night Raw!

The Top Of The Ladder!

This Sunday, at the TLC Pay-Per-View, Edge faced three of the top superstars on Smackdown, Alberto Del Rio, Kane and Rey Mysterio. Edge definitely had the home field advantage, having been in more TLC matches than any other WWE superstar, and he was able to follow that through to a win, retaining his World Heavyweight Title in an exciting match. Edge will address the WWE Universe this week on Smackdown, and one has to wonder whether anyone will stake their claim to the title, as we head into the Royal Rumble.

Laycoolosers!

Laycool helped to make history at the TLC Pay-Per-View, facing Beth Phoenix and Natayla in the WWE’s first Tag Team Diva Tables Match! Laycool’s experience teaming together couldn’t give them the advantage over their more powerful opponents, and they ended the night lying on a bed of splinters. Will Laycool recover any of their momentum tonight when Layla faces Kelly Kelly? Or will things continue to go downhill for the ‘fabulous’ duo?

Intercontinental Fumble?

Dolph Ziggler has been on a hot streak since winning the Intercontinental Title, but he faced possibly his greatest challenge yet at the TLC Pay-Per-View, facing off with two of Smackdown’s most promising young athletes, Jack Swagger and Kofi Kingston in a ladder match. Many fans have said that Ziggler was lucky to escape with the title at the pay-per-view. Indeed, both Swagger and Kingston were atop a ladder, unhooking the belt between them, and then jostling to try and prize it from the other’s grasp. This led to both men fumbling the championship, allowing Ziggler to simply pick it up from the canvas for the win. A win is a win, but I’m sure Ziggler will be hoping to prove himself this week, when he faces off with Trent Barreta. Will Kingston and Swagger continue to pursue the Intercontinental Title after coming so close?

Confirmed Matches

Dolph Ziggler v Trent Barreta

Layla v Kelly Kelly

Friends to Foes
Only a few years ago, The Miz & John Morrison were one of the most successful tag teams in this business, cutting a swathe through the WWE. Since then, The Miz has consistently been referring to himself as the “Shawn Michaels” of the team, with Morrison as the “Jannety”. This week Morrison hopes to shut The Miz’s mouth, and prove that he’s as good as The Miz is, when the two collide in a WWE Title Match. Will Morrison’s meteoric rise to the top continue? Or will The Miz once again prove why he is the most must see WWE Champion in history?

‘New’ Nexus?
Last week, the tables were turned on Wade Barrett, as his former teammates turned on him, leaving him lying in the middle of the ring. This week, Nexus will explain their actions, and start a ‘new’ era for the group. Will they return to their original ways of domination? Or will this mistake cost them, leaving the group to crumble? Will John Cena have anything to say about the ‘New’ Nexus, or with Wade Barrett gone, will Cena move on to chasing the title?

More Rumble Announcments?
Last week the RAW General Manager unveiled a revolutionary idea for the Royal Rumble: It will now feature 40 superstars! The GM promised more surprises in relation to the rumble over the weeks to come; will any be revealed this week on RAW? What more could the GM have in store?

Moment of Truth
A few weeks ago, Tyson Kidd turned his back on his tag team partner, and bought in an associate, Jackson Andrews, to deal with his former partner, David Hart Smith. Tyson has since been on an ego-trip, and one superstar was frustrated by his new attitude. R-Truth challenged Tyson Kidd to a match, asking him to act, rather than talk, and this week the two face off on Monday Night RAW! Will Kidd’s new attitude and associate be able to lead him to victory? Or will Truth make Kidd regret his actions over the past few weeks?

Cat Fight! Cat Fight!
Maryse has long been an associate of Ted Dibiase, and last week she got more involved in his rivalry with Ted DiBiase: confronting the Bella Twins, and sparking Nikki Bella to challenge Maryse to a match this week. Will Maryse manage to get some momentum for her man as he seeks the US title, or will Nikki Bella give Maryse a thundering loss this week on RAW?

Given the Edge?
Last week, the four competitors who had taken part in the World Heavyweight Championship match at the TLC Pay-Per-View continued to clash with each other, with Kane, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio all staking their claim for a Championship match. The former champion Kane already possesses a guaranteed rematch, but the two Mexican superstars had something to prove, and this manifested in the Main Event of the evening. Mysterio was trying to score a huge win over the former Champion Kane, but Del Rio was also determined to get involved, causing the match to be thrown out. As the two men worked over Mysterio, The World Heavyweight Champion Edge came out to aid his friend, and send Del Rio and Kane scarpering from the ring. The situation seems as tumultuous as ever, and one has to wonder what The General Manager Theodore Long has in store for this week on Smackdown. When will Kane get his rematch? Will either Mysterio or Del Rio be able to prove to Teddy that they deserve a title shot?

Showing up The Big Show
The Big Show has long been one of the industry’s most intimidating figures, instilling fear into the hearts of his enemies, but last week someone managed to turn the tables on The World’s Largest Athlete. Prior to his match with Curt Hawkins, The Big Show was visibly shaken by chilling footage played into the arena, and the lingering fear within The Big Show was proven to be well founded, as The Big Show was found in the back, having suffered an attack, and having been left constricted into a strait-jacket. This begs the question of who, or what, could have the strength and ferocity to put an animal the size of The Big Show into such a situation. This week, The Big Show is surely out for retribution, and the eager, over-confident Cody Rhodes was placed directly into Big Show’s firing line last week when General Manager Teddy Long made a match between the two men. Cody has surely put himself in for the biggest challenge of his young career, and it seems all but guaranteed that Cody will be destroyed by The Big Show tonight, but could the naysayers be wrong? Could Cody pull out a major upset tonight? Will The Big Show’s mysterious assailant make another appearance?

Trail to the Title
The Intercontinental Title has long been one of the most prestigious championships in the WWE, with many legends holding this championship as one of their accomplishments. This, as well as mankind’s natural desire for greatness, has led to a frantic chase for this title on Friday Night Smackdown. The current champion, Dolph Ziggler, has been impressive as of late, but as always there are other young talents snapping at his heels, hoping to dislodge his grasp of the Intercontinental Title. Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger are at the forefront of his group. Both have tasted championship gold in the past, and hunger for another chance to hold it, and last week both men tried to one up each other, with Kingston making a statement at Ziggler’s expense, before being the instrument through which Jack Swagger made his own statement. What will the Intercontinental Champion have to say about these events? Will Kingston and Swagger continue to try and one up each other this week?

The Chosen One’s Chosen One
The past few months Drew McIntyre has been trying his best to win the affection of Smackdown Diva Kelly Kelly, one of the hottest Divas in the WWE. Kelly has thus far been able to see through McIntyre’s thin veil of flirtation, witnessing Drew’s attitude towards other people on the Smackdown roster. Last week, Drew took further steps to try and prove himself, challenging Chris Masters to a match this week, as well as trying to defend Kelly Kelly from an attack by Laycool. Will Drew be able to prove himself against Masters this week, and will Kelly finally fall for the Chosen One? Or will Masters knock McIntyre down a step?

Return of the Warrior
The Guerrero family has long been seen as one of the greatest in the history of Professional Wrestling, but Chavo Guerrero had encountered an obstacle that many would see as inconsequential and pointless: Hornswoggle. The Leprechaun was able to cause problem after problem for Chavo Guerrero, embarrassing both Chavo himself, and the great Guerrero name. That was, until last week. When Hornswoggle again attempted to mock Chavo Guerrero, Chavo sought redemption for the months of ridicule, delivering a brutal Brainbuster onto the concrete floor. Chavo, and potentially the entire Guerrero family must be hoping that this is the last that we will see of the leprechaun but you can never be sure in the WWE. Will Chavo’s re-found aggression be again on show in his match against JTG this Friday Night? And will we see any sign of Hornswoggle or has the leprechaun indeed been eliminated from the WWE?

Confirmed Matches

Cody Rhodes v The Big Show

Drew McIntyre v Chris Masters

Kelly Kelly v Rosa Mendes

Chavo Guerrero v JTG

EXCLUSIVE: VIDEO IS OF A FORMER WWE SUPERSTAR

Wrestlezone.com has exclusively learnt that the figure involved in the recent chilling videos on Smackdown is a former WWE Superstar, who has recently been resigned by the corporation. The figure within the videos is expected to recieve a significant push over the next few months heading into Wrestlemania. The identity of the figure is expected to be revealed over the next few weeks.

Changes coming to WWE Divas Division

Wrestlezone.com has learnt that the WWE is seriously considering drastic changes to the Divas division. Ideas being currently discussed are wide ranging, including splitting the title into two seperate entities, creating a diva's exclusive TV program, unifying the Divas onto one brand, or indeed completely abolishing the division. Expect changes to begin to become apparant over the next few months, but to fully come into effect after Wrestlemania.

Wrestlemania: Money In The Bank?

There is also debate going on within the WWE about the Money In The Bank Ladder Match and it's utilisation. Currently the Money In The Bank Pay Per View is listed for November, but there is debate about whether to scrap this concept and return to the old set-up of one Money In The Bank ladder match a year at Wrestlemania. At the moment, many within the WWE are indeed expecting a Money In The Bank match at Wrestlemania, as well as a single cross-brand Money In The Bank match at the November PPV (rather than a match per brand as it was in the first Money In The Bank Pay Per View).

Wrestlezone.com will do it's best to keep you updated on all these new stories, and others, as more information becomes available.

Championship Chaos
After last week’s tumultuous WWE title match, where Orton inadvertently hit Morrison in the face with the WWE Championship, whilst aiming for The Miz, the WWE Universe will hear from all three men who had such vital roles in that match. The WWE Champion, The Miz, is expected to open the show, addressing the situation, and it would be almost stupidity to assume that Morrison and/or Orton won’t get involved. Will we determine who will gain the next title match after tonight’s show?

Risk or Reward?
The WWE’s most exciting Pay-Per-View of the year, The Royal Rumble, gained a fresh perspective, when the Risk or Reward Tournament was announced by the anonymous RAW General Manager. The winner of the final match will gain the number 40 entry, whilst the loser will gain the number 1 entry. This week on Monday Night RAW, the first round matches start, with John Cena facing off against Cody Rhodes, and David Otunga facing off against the World’s Largest Athlete, The Big Show. Who will leave RAW one step closer to their goal?

Truth & Consequences
Last week, R-Truth was cheated by Tyson Kidd and Jackson Andrews, and now Truth wants revenge. The RAW GM announced last week, that Kidd and Andrews will face Truth and a partner of his choice tonight on RAW. If Truth and his partner win, then Kidd will have to face off with R-Truth one on one next week on RAW! Will Truth earn the opportunity to show Kidd the consequences of his actions? Or will Kidd be able to avoid ever having to face Truth?

Gold In His Sights
Ted DiBiase is no stronger to gold, but in his career he hasn’t held much gold of the Championship variety. DiBiase has recently renewed his efforts to try and gain the US Championship from Daniel Bryan, and tonight, DiBiase will be looking to prove he deserves a shot at the gold, when he faces off with Goldust. DiBiase has looked impressive these past few weeks, will he be able to maintain that against Goldust tonight?

Tag Team Turmoil
Nexus have redoubled their efforts for the Tag Team Championships after their defeat at the TLC Pay-Per-View, and they seem to have identified Tamina as a way to get under the skin of the Tag Champions. Tonight the Champions have a match against The Usos: a difficult enough pair of opponents under normal circumstances. Will the Champions be able to pick up the win over The Usos whilst keeping an eye on Tamina and Nexus?

Tune into RAW this week to find out!

Confirmed Matches

Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov v The Usos

Big Show v David Otunga

John Cena v Cody Rhodes
