Tiger Chaos Theory

You ain't drawin' shit!
I was going through the flickchart movie selection thing and realized I haven't seen as many asian movies as I had believed I had.

Recommend movies you've enjoyed.

Edit: Please avoid anything Dragon Dynasty related since according to their catalog I've seen almost every one of their titles.

Oldboy is a pretty fine movie. It's on par violence wise with the Ichi The Killer movies.

I'd also like to suggest Gen X Cops & Gen Y Cops. Both are pretty solid Asian "Young Cop Team" movies.

Death Note 1+2
Battle Royale
Oldboy
Lust, Caution
House of Flying Daggers
Hero
The Curse of the Golden Flower
Seven Samurai
Mongol
Sukiyaki Western Django

Saw that. Much better than the Anime. Hero was pretty good too. I'm actually STILL trying to find the live action Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The anime is too over the top for me.

Thanks, ummm, not sure how to type your name and Genme.

Edit: Seen Mongol.

Red Cliff was visually stunning but the story trotted at a snails pace with the climax being incredibly uninteresting. My second least liked John Woo film.

I don't know. Something about the anime just turned me off. The characters were too over the top for my tastes. In the movie the characters seemed more realistic.

I believe that was the point of the anime, to be over the top and unrealistic. If it had attempted to translate the seriousness of the original film it would have failed miserably.

To tell you guys that truth I wasn't really into Anime, I used to think that anime was just dumb, but my wife kept putting anime movie and I notice that I was wrong. Anime is the shit (in a good way)

A common problem with Asian cinema

Well, the movie BATTLE OF THE WARRIORS was exactly what Red Cliff could have been had it. It compressed the themes and forgot about injecting an unappealing love story into itself, entertaining throughout and very well written. It may not be as visually appealing but it was twice the movie Red Cliff was.

Another too common a problem. I need/want a love story in the middle of what is essentially a war movie, particularly when it has little or nothing to do with the main story

Asian cinema's biggest problem IMO.

I really want to know what your name is because you are pretty cool.

No, I can not. I may be a little rusty :p
