[DC/Marvel] TV Shows/Movies Discussion Thread

As much as BvS sucks as a movie, you cant deny Afleck did great job. Gadot doesnt have tatas to be Wonder Woman but she did better then expected too. Advantage of the show is that it can portray better characters then 2 hour movie where you must cram multiple superheroes together. And Marvel does great job with Netflix series, so its great to see less popular characters getting time to be portrayed good.

Having said that, didnt watch new Luke Cage due to obligation, will start tommorow for sure. Loved Daredevil and Jessica so would probably love this too.

I don't think some people realise it's easier to characterise on a tv show than in a movie. Also I remember seeing a fan picture of Gina Carano as Wonder Woman. Would'be been all over that.

So is Benedict Cumberbatch still the least inspired casting decision in comic book movies? Or is Brie Larson the winner now?

I saw this on twitter.

Not really true at all. Those characters are well developed and are definitely the sum of their parts (I'm not entirely sure on Wonderwoman. I've never known her to be a character defined by other women she assosciates herself with plus JJ's character is quite heavily defined by her trauma) but their parts are parts of trope characters that Superman, WW and Batman created.

You could say the exact same thing about Black Panther, Vision or Scarlet Witch (If we're going by that categorisation). That post just screams some self righteous moron on Twitter thinking he's the shit because the dots connect.

Sorry if I sound like a fanboy but this is quite a grasping at straws thing.

Alright, three episodes into Luke Cage now. We definitely had our "Daredevil hallway fight scene" here. Not gonna say which episode but from reading this, you already know it's within the first three. The music in this show is just so damn good. It never comes on at the wrong time. It's perfect timing actually when the music does come on.

I know people who have already watched the entire season. I'm not gonna do that (hopefully). I've done that with each Marvel TV show that has come out on Netflix but I'll try not to do that with Luke Cage. Gonna enjoy this one. Let the slow burn begin.

Hoping for more Jared Leto and less shit editing

Just watched Flashpoint. It was just... ok. Reality alteration is one of the worst concepts (at least for me) but they pulled it out really well. But I hope they don't do it a lot. The episode still came out as dull. This season looks intriguing though on a positive note.
