Armbar & Jesus and Pals

I haven't finished it yet, it's halfway over. I'll get on right after.

Oh and MIB being Christian kills the hope I had of a convo between Jack and his dad.

I'm back. Thanks goes to Doc.

So I'm looking at some muay thai schools, hopefully I'll be ready to go after my surgery.

So I saw Nightmare on Elm Street last night. I'm generous in giving it a C grading. Haley did well with what he was given. He was definitely a different Krueger and was pretty much the only thing that earned the movie a C from me. The town of Springwood is lifeless and not a character in itself like it was in the original. The teens were so stereotypical in the dialogue. There were points when I could gaurentee the upcoming lines from the "They don't believe you but I do" to the "There's nothing going on, it's just dreams" line. Obviously these fit and have been said in almost every one of the movies, but the delivery of them was similar to the terrible Final Destination movies in that you KNOW it's coming and it's going to be bad.

The biggest dissapointment was what they did with the dream world. It was incredibly stationary for the most part. There are so many possibilities for what can be done with the story anad the character of Krueger but instead they played it safe. No overly cool and gorey deaths, something that people go to see these kind of movies for. I also didn't like how Krueger was prett deadpan and serious throught 90% of the movie, but the last maybe 30 minutes he resorted back to what devolved the character in the past; easy, juvenile and corny jokes.

I gave it a C for nostalgia value. And it had the guy who plas Kelvin Inman on Lost, so that was win.

I was going to go see this movie this afternoon but got tied up at work. I was on the fence about seeing it to begin with because I firmly believe that you just can't throw anyone into the Freddy character and expect it to work. After reading your review, I don't think I'm going to see it. Slight possibility that I may check it out once it comes out on DVD. Not sure.

Honestly it's worth a watch. It has some decent but easy scares. The real saving grace though is Haley as Krueger. He doesn't do an amazing job persay, but with all the guff the company was getting for replacing Englund I'd say he performed pretty well.

I'm loving the Sheamus theme by the way. My favorite thing going on in the WWE right now honestly. Stop in any time.

Hot damn Armbar, your interactions with nickb03 in the Sheamus thread were AWESOME!!

I think he has responded to my last rebuttal. I haven't decided if I'm going to go back and respond with anything else though because clearly his reasoning is just "I don't like Sheamus so I'm going to find bullshit reasons to dowplay his skills'' and there's really no arguing with that.

I'm starting to post some in the tournament. I'm really wanting someone to argue Orton over Austin, but Stone Cold is taking it fairly easily. I'm going to love arguing Savage over Bret if it they meet up.

Hola Armbar! I'm going to see NOES tonight. Been looking forward to it, hopefully I find it better than your review. Either way it gets me out of the house and away from school work, so it is a plus either way. So how's life mate?

Life's good Theodore. I've been working my ass off lately because I fired a couple of employees and havn't replaced them yet. I've also been meeting up with some people from Time Warner Cable to possible get some air time and comercials for my place. Expensive business that is though, I haven't decided if it's worth it or not. Other than that I've been doing my usual sutff, nothing too new and exciting.

I wouldn't say that NOES isn't worth seeing, only that it wasn't all that great. It was an entertaining popcorn movie, I just wanted a little more. It seemed very formulaic and rushed. I'm assuming it was because Haley was announced as being casted for Krueger not too long ago. It deserved more attention damnit.

Wow, I go out of my way to throw you a compliment after our debate, and that's what I get? lol

I didn't mean for that to be offensive if it was. I only meant that what you should have done after my first response to you was to say it comes down to taste. What you did though was explain bs reasons as to why he's failing, when he's really not. That would have been a lot better because I would never argue personal taste.

I hear ya. I never really said he was failing. I just don't like him, and the reason I don't like him is because I don't think he's that good. He's not failing. He's drawing a lot of heat, and even as a Sheamus-hater, I see that.

Sheamus is somehow a legitimate contender and threat for John Cena's title in what, 4 months? That alone makes him badass. The fact that he was blamed for causing Triple H enough nerve damage to sideline him indefinitely just makes it even more obvious.
