Anime/Manga Discussion

So there is another new Dragonball Z movie on the way next spring...

The tag lines of "There is someone I want you to revive" and "The Worst Wish in History" are certainly intriguing.

I totally binge watched the entire first season of Sword Art Online today. Without any spoilers, can anyone tell me what the quality of season two looks like so far?

I feel like they could of split season one into two separate seasons and missed out on a lot of things they could of capitalized on. The first season had some weird pacing in the beginning, but then finally slowed into a consistent pace towards the middle of the first half of the season.

Sword art online 2 is definitely looking a ton better than that second arc of the first series, and it seems they're trying to get more of the ideas across instead of rushing it like the early parts of season 1

New character, old character, what say you Barbosa?

Season 2 is definitely looking better. Not sure how many episodes are planned for this season but I think it'll be more than SAO season 1. You should definitely give it a watch. Which reminds me that I need to watch the latest episode today. Thanks Kermit :p

I started watching One Piece from the beginning last weekend. I have only watched it on the weekends and I have watched just under 50 episodes.

Also inspired me to start writing a tabletop skirmish game based on concepts from the show, like powers and inability to swim. Fishmen. The idea of a tabletop wargame with elements of something like One Piece is a rather cool thing in my head.

I can't see it being a returning character. Aside from Whiss and Bils, none of the characters we have seen before could even approach the power of Vegeta never mind SSJG Goku.

It could perhaps be the first Super Saiyan, who is recorded as being unable to control his power and destroying large parts of the universe.

Not a fan of One Piece. Surprisingly enough. And I'm sick to death of Naruto too.

Love One Piece. But the dub is slower than molasses. The filler from Naruto did me in a while ago. Not going to pick it back up until the dub catches up with the current arc. The manga is ending soon, so no more filler from that point on.

Could be... I feel it'll be a Saiyan regardless simply based on the fact that their power increases the nearer to death they get etc... One thing I did notice though is Shenron stating he can only grant one wish which would suggest this takes place before the Cell saga's.

The new movie is set after Battle of the Gods so the "one wish only" might be an oversight or a mistranslation.

Given how Bils talked about there being so many other Gods of Destruction, it is likely that that will play into the story somewhat as well.

Saw Hellsing and AOT Abridged. Boy, these guys love their wrestling. Brock Lesnar's theme hits when the Armored Titan breaks in and Anderson references Sheamus' theme. Which then plays in the background in his following appearance. Also, these are so far better than other abridged shows. They look genuinely professional and coherent.

TFS is getting to the point where they are actually professionals considering Lani and Taka are getting legit voice acting jobs. Look at Lani's personal youtube account, it has him at cons doing the full wrestling entrance thing with the PCC belt. (Patty Cake Championship)

Part of me would not mind the revelation that the first Super Saiyan was in fact Bardock and that after he defeated Chilled, he went on a universal rampage.

Good lord, that'd be a massive cluster for continuity...what am I saying, its DBZ. Continuity is fecked anyway. Bardock vs. Goku sounds like box-office.

I don't think bringing in Bardock would be a massive problem for continuity.

His death/time-travel removed him from the main timeline so it could be incorporated. Bardock's presence on proto-Vegeta could be suggested as a major boost for the inherent power of the Saiyan race...

Bardock as his own progenitor...

If you're not already watching SAO II, then you should get on that. Episode Six was definitely the best one yet. The Kirito vs. Shinon duel was pretty cool. I just wish they dropped more hints as to who Death Gun is. But oh well. I think SAO II is definitely better than SAO I already even if SAO II has only aired six episodes so far. The pacing is so much better in SAO II.

The explanations surrounding stuff in SAO 2 is definitely better than the first one, plus there's more character development in this too, but it looks like it's going towards another girl falling for Kirito and if that happens I'm going to seriously consider stopping watching. It's got one more chance in my book, but the next time I see another scene where Sinon thinks to herself something about why her heart goes all "doki doki" whenever Kirito's around I'm turning that episode off and reading a summary. There's a bunch of good anime this season and I need a timeslot in my schedule to watch Akagame no Kill + Tokyo Ghoul. Haikyuu, Zankyou no Terror and HxH are higher up on my priorities right now so SAO needs to step up it's game or face the chopping block hahaha.

If anyone has a spare 30 minutes or so then I shall suggest to you the amazing amazement that was the greatest Christmas present in the world when it came out - Inferno Cop. It was the first thing the guys who made Kill La Kill produced and my god I wish I was this insane...

Started watching Dragon Ball Z again from the start. Gohan and Piccolo are still my favourite characters. Goku always showing up late is just not acceptable.

Edit: Didn't like Yamcha when I was a kid and still don't like him.
