YOu can't use created stories in Universe mode, no. You just...download them and play them. But Universe mode is extremely customizable in this game. You can choose the championships your brand has(Major, Minor, Tag, Divas), its logo, its name, arena, superstars ect. You can also download arenas if you don't want to make one yourself.

It sounds like I am going to have to spend a few hours getting used to the controls, which I dont mind doing.
If I bought another game I would have to learn those controls too, its just that the WWE games have had a VERY similar control system for years which I know 100% now.
It is just the inability to change the pinning system to just being able to mash the buttons to kick out. I dont see why you should have to time your clicks to get out of a pin, its not like real wrestlers time their kickouts. Surely the idea would just be putting all your effort into kicking out as soon as possible rather than timing when to lift your shoulder???
I know this was on the last game too, but I was SHIT at it, so I jsut changed back to the old style of button mashing kick outs....it sucks that you cant do this on WWE12!!!

The worst part about Universe is there are no storylines. Just feuds with cut-scenes happening to build them up. But is it customisable? Yes. That's the main improvement for the mode this year. In SvR11 a lot of stuff where kind of just forced on you. But this year we got to customize everything in the mode. Hell, we can even change a show to whatever we want it to be. You can turn RAW into Impact Wrestling, believe it or not. With the Create An Arena feature and Create A Logo, you can make any show you want and place it instead of Superstars cause, well, no one actually bothers to play that part of Universe Mode.

I did. Much better from previous years (Still does not touch WCW vs NWO World Tour for N64).
Road to WrestleMania would be good if you could choose the superstar, instead of the game either selecting Sheamus, Triple H, or a created superstar. (You don't even get to pick which one of those 3 you will be)
Universe Mode I believe will be good, once I get everything the way I want it.

What about Steel Steps, Can I German Suplex someone into them when the steps are in the ring or has that been taken away too?

No the steel steps are a lot easier to do moves on them. Unlike ladders they have remained the same.

The royal rumble controls have changed as well. Though for the better IMO, it is no longer button mashing that will tire you out and now all of the elimination situations are more like a timed thing similar to the corner elimination.

I cancelled my pre-order. Not because the game sounds bad, bit because buying it on the day of release from Argos gets me a free John Morrison DVD and 800 Microsoft Points for five pounds.
